River's Eleven--Significant Arrivals (and Departures)
« on: December 31, 2015, 12:23:34 PM »
I really dislike starting a file with a family/Sim I've previously used, so I decided to be creative this time and use random dice rolls to determine starting town and household.  I ended up in Riverview and Rhoda Bagley ended up being my founder.  Unfortunately, her initial home is ineligible for a decadynasty, so I rolled a second time to find her spouse.  Here's what happened from there...

Pippin:  Greetings, Henry McGlum!  You have been chosen to be the founder of a decadynasty!

Henry:  You chose me on purpose?
Pippin:  Honestly, no, but I had a random dice roll that stuck me with you.
Melvin:  That sounds about right.
Henry:  Hey!  I'm a good choice for founder!
Pippin:  Of course you are, now Melvin and Bennie, you'll be pollinating the town...
Melvin:  Yes!!
Pippin:  And Henry will be meeting his bride-to-be.  Just follow these directions.
Melvin:  ...okay...thought maybe I'd get to choose my own spouse.  You aren't still here, are you?

Rhoda:  So the schmuck's on board?
Pippin:  Of course he is.  And like you suggested, I'm letting him think he's the founder.
Rhoda:  Yeah, whatever it takes to get me away from these losers...

Pippin:  You mean your family?
Rhoda:  ...and starting my own incredible crime syndicate.
Pippin:  Umm, by crime syndicate, you mean dynasty?
Rhoda:  Same thing.  Myself and my 10 heirs filling the roles to be the most unstoppable criminal enterprise in history.
Pippin:  So like Ocean's Eleven in Riverview?
Rhoda:  River's Eleven it is!

I swear, Pip, if you get my hopes up with this one and then... *glares* let's just say I'll show Rhoda a thing or two about evil  :P

Henry McGlum! I would never had thought of him, but then the thought of a random roll for founder would never have crossed my mind.

I think the random roll was inspired! But it could have gone in so many disastrous ways! At least, as an elder, our dear founding father won't be around long enough to mess stuff up lol

God willing, things should go smoothly this time around.  Of course, on my last deca, you were more smitten with my spare than my heir, so hopefully I can have a better first heir this time  ;=)

Yeah, I'm really excited to see how the blending of Henry and Rhoda's genes turns out.  The heir is in the child stage in game.  She's cute, but you can't really tell at the child stage how they'll turn out as adults.

Well, there was no way the random roll could have given me Arlo Bunch, so I felt pretty safe.  Just kidding, I've seen Arlo father some truly lovely children.
I think the Grandpas household as a whole is fantastic for a deca since you need that tombstone and they're all so much closer to providing it than most other potential founders (which I realize is a very morbid silver lining).

River's Eleven--Introducing the Baglums
« Reply #5 on: January 01, 2016, 11:26:29 AM »
Pippin:  And with the plan in place, Rhoda's ticket out of Bagleyville arrives.
Henry:  Hi, I'm Henry.

Rhoda:  Less repulsive than I'd expected.
Henry:  What?
Rhoda:  Nothing.  Tell me more interesting things about yourself and I'll smile and nod and pretend to listen.
Henry:...okay...
Pippin:  Meantime, back at the house, Melvin was proving to be quite good at his job.

Pippin:  Quite good indeed.

Pippin:  Wait, doesn't she already have a husband and twin daughters?
Melvin:  Yep.  That means plenty of help to raise my children.
Pippin:  Way to find the silver lining of your moral ineptitude.
Melvin:  It's a gift.
Pippin:  Bennie is not nearly as good at pollinating and took significantly longer to get here.

Bennie:  Hey!  I got here eventually!
Pippin:  And Henry got here eventually.

Pippin:  Umm, Rhoda, are you just yanking him into a kiss?
Rhoda:  At the rate he was going, Grim was going to get here before our first kiss.
Pippin:  Henry, propose, now!

Henry:  Umm, Rhoda, will you...
Rhoda:  Take a diamond from you?  Absolutely!  Now let's get married and have babies!

Rhoda:  Oooo, an additional diamond!  Must be my lucky day.
Henry:  So...you mentioned making babies...
Rhoda:  No, I mentioned having babies.  You've gotta pay attention to the details.  Now come on, grandpa.

Pippin:  Rhoda Bagley...McGlum...Rhoda Baglum, you just got married and tried for a baby!  What are you gonna do next?
Rhoda:  My job.

Pippin:  Well, I guess we'll have no trouble affording a crib.  Speaking of cribs, I wonder how successful Melvin's attempts at pollinating were.

Rhoda:  Looks like he's quite good at his job.
Pippin:  Yes, he's very good.

Rhoda:  Very good indeed.

Rhoda:  And speaking of intimate time in the bedroom...

Rhoda:  Looks like you're going to be a father, grandpa.
Henry:  Rhoda, you make me so happy.
Rhoda:  You don't do too badly yourself, old man.
Pippin:  Turning our attention back to Melvin, he had perhaps the most important job of anyone in this dynasty:  making sure we can have Ruby Broke's genes in this dynasty.

Rhoda:  Most important job my foot!  Can't you see I'm going into labor?  You know, to bring in the first heir?!?!?
Pippin:  Oh.  Yes.  That's also important.  Let me just adjust the camera angle to get a good shot.

Rhoda:  You just switched the angle to get Ruby in the shot, didn't you?
Pippin:  What?  Was the lovely redhead in the shot?  I didn't even notice...
Rhoda:  Did you at least notice I had twins?
Pippin:  I'm sorry, what was that, Ruby?
Rhoda:  I'm Rhoda!  And I said I had twins.  The heir is named Scarlet, and the spare is named Sage.  Scarlet is athletic and friendly.  Sage randomly became clumsy and loves the heat.

Pippin:  ...
Rhoda:  Pippin?
Pippin:  What?  Oh, anyway, Henry, you just became a father!  What are you gonna do next?
Henry:  I'm going to recycle the newspaper.

Pippin:  In your underwear?
Henry:  What?  It's warm outside.
Pippin:  (facepalm)

Like I said: him being an elder is a bonus lol *evil grin*

Hmm... I look forward to you giving me a more interesting heir this time around ;-D although, truth be told, all your characters are brilliantly unique individuals, so it is often so hard to choose (not talking about Tessa! There is and always will be only one Tessa! Tessa for President! I miss Tessa *sob*)

I may have to name one of the Baglum heirs in honor of Tessa just because of her awesomeness and your devotion to her  ;=)

I will hunt you down and... HUG you! :-D but only if the "new" Tessa is as awesim as the original! Although, I think you're totally going to have to stretch to do that, since original Tessa was just the absolute mostest!

Looks like the old guys should be happy enough to provide that medium tombstone.

River's Eleven--The Convenience of Kleptomania
« Reply #11 on: January 04, 2016, 08:02:46 AM »

Pippin:  And speaking of babies!

Rhoda:  No one was speaking of babies, Pippin.
Henry:  I'll, uh, just clean this up for you...
Pippin:  And Melvin and Bennie continued to have potential baby mamas over, which proved particularly convenient since there were twins in the house.

Rhoda:  Hopefully they don't speak to each other.
Pippin:  No worries, Marisol is Melvin's ladyfriend and Elaine is Bennie's ladyfriend.  As far as they know, they should just be galpals!
Melvin:  And just look at my handsome son, Melvin Jr!

Pippin:  Umm, his name's actually Jared, and as far as anyone knows, he's Angel's son.
Melvin:  So, no one's going to question why he's blond?
Pippin:  Psh, Sims don't know how genetics work!
Rhoda:  I do.  My genetics work to make my girls beautiful!

Pippin:  Umm, why do we have a bald heir?
Rhoda:  She'll grow hair!
Pippin:  So, now that you've used Henry for his house and to father your heir, you're done with him?

Rhoda:  Ummm, well...
Pippin:  More babies?!?
Rhoda:  We kind of popped wishes to woohoo and to have more babies...
Pippin:  Ooooo, you like him!
Rhoda:  Shut up!  What are you, a middle school girl?
Pippin:  (muttering under his breath) Well, my daughter is, so...
Henry:  Look, Meadow, isn't my baby girl gorgeous?

Meadow:  She looks like a dwarf Bruce Willis.
Pippin:  She needs to stop breaking my fourth wall and go have more babies with Melvin!
Rhoda:  Umm, Pippin, funny you mention having babies in the plural...

Pippin:  Twins again?
Rhoda:  Yep!  Saffron and Sepia this time.  They have random traits.  I forget what they are.
Pippin:  Wow, really making your case for mother of the year, aren't you.  Anyway, the girls aged up.  Here's Sage.

Pippin:  And here's our heir, Scarlet, after I took pity on her and gave her some hair.

Scarlet:  Yeah, thanks.  I wasn't looking forward to starting school as the bald girl.
Rhoda:  Yeah, that and you weren't that attractive as a bald kid.
Pippin:  And the mother of the year award is on the way.

Pippin:  And no way this fellow's winning father of the year.
Melvin:  Hey, my job is making the babies, not raising them.
Pippin:  I would criticize you, but I guess I gave you the job...and then was happy about how good you are at it.  Bennie on the other hand...
Rhoda:  Oh my Watcher, Bennie!!

Grim:  You know, I'm on a pretty tight schedule, so since I'm here anyway...

Henry:  Umm, honey, I think it's time to say goodbye...
Rhoda:  Not my old man!!
Pippin:  And it's a double downer at the Baglum household as we lose two and neither of them had even a medium sized tombstone.
Rhoda:  Nice sensitivity.
Pippin:  I mean...we're all devastated by the loss of poor Bennie and Henry.
Scarlet:  Actually, I can help with that.

Pippin:  Where did you get a magic lamp?
Scarlet:  We took a field trip to the cemetery and it was in some crypt.  I figured the owner was dead, so didn't really need this anymore.
Rhoda:  That's my little klepto!

Genie:  I am the genie of the lamp...
Scarlet:  Yeah, I know.  That's why I summoned you.  So, can you bring my dear departed daddy back from the depths of death's despair?
Genie:  I was going to say no, but your usage of alliteration has convinced me.
Sage:  What's a litter nation?
Scarlet:  I'll explain later.

Henry:  Girls!  I'm back!  I missed you so much!  Who's the blue girl?
Scarlet:  Nevermind, daddy, it's just so good to have you back!  Now why don't you go write more books about how happy you are to be back?
Sage:  And complete your lifetime wish so you can have a big gravemarker.
Scarlet:  Shh!
Pippin:  And with daddy back in the house, things returned to normal.

Scarlet:  Who's the alpha twin now?!?
Sage:  Oww, you are!  You are!
Rhoda:  That's my sweet little heir, beating the snot out of her twin.
Pippin:  Speaking of being beaten up, things got rough for Melvin.
Lots of Girls:  You dirty, rotten, nasty cheater!!

Pippin:  No, not Ruby!

Melvin:  Oh, I'm sorry, Meadow!  And I'm inappropriate, so let's just kiss and make up!
Meadow:  Okay!

Pippin:  Sims are so weird.
Melvin:  Hey, she's my soul mate!  If you weren't making me pollinate the town, I'd have married her by now!
Pippin:  I mean, Sims are so kind and helpful and dutiful.
Sage:  Hehehe
Scarlet:  You just said, "doody full!"
Pippin:  (facepalms)

Doody full...are you sure your daughter isn't 8 years old?
Hahaha, I have been accused of just being an overgrown 5 year old, so I'll take 8 as a compliment  ;=)
