Congrats @Playalot Dude would be so proud!

I feel like such a derp that I forgot you can marry and just not have the spouse live with you *facepalm* I did use the woohoo option to get my social and fun up each day (poor Don, used as a woohoo machine once more). Every night I would invite Don over, they would woohoo and then she would get Don to mentor her on the treadmill and she would kiss him on the way to Charisma (I bought great kisser, morning sim and night owl as soon as I had enough points). She was done with the aspiration and skill the day she turned Adult so it was just the last 4 promotions that kept her from completing (I didn't choose Bodybuilder just because random pick lol). I was just so thankful that I didn't pick up the promotion bug like I had in my Skill of the Week practice run but I never thought of using Connections reward trait. She would make a party size of the "special recipe" energized food and when she learnt how to make fish tacos, I had her do those too... She always had fresh food in the fridge as I would often have her cook on days off when her tense moodlt was too high.

Can a couch potato sim die when they get that moodlet that says they have dangerously over exerted themselves? I wasn't sure, so whenever she got that I would immediately get her doing something that would require her to sit on the comfy sofa.

I also used the bath+incense combo for the 12hr moodlet, and threw in yoga for good measure.

The route I went was with buying the very best bed and the second best tub (with spa jets).  The bed raised my energy levels super fast and stripped away discomfort, the spa tub had energizing soaks so my Sim never was stressed out to the point where negative moodlets overrode the positive ones.  I then went to the gym and used a trainer to mentor her and was very energized for the entire time.  I maxed out the body building aspiration on Tuesday of week 2.

I had no oven, she only ever made salads to eat for the low calorie nature of the food.

I did wait to join the career until I had connections which happened on Wednesday of the first week and the next reward was entrepreneurial.   I also started rapidly building my programming to hack my work performance.  I didn't think of asking for a bonus though, one of my hacks failed and I lost a large chunk of progress due to that and a bad chance card, slowing my promotions by several days.   I  think if I'd managed to get those two events done right, I would have been on track for the Sunday/Adult birthday final promotion.

It was a lot of fun though!

@Nutella, great idea about throwing the party to gather victims, um I meant Sims, to mentor! I'd never done the bodybuilder career branch but it worked pretty well to note who among Willow's many friends were mentorable and travelled to the gym with seven of them every evening.  If she ran out of victims at the Oasis Springs gym, she'd travel to the Willow Creek gym with seven more mentorable friends.

Congratulations, Playalot! I figured you would ace this challenge.

My strategy was to keep my Sim very energized in order to overcome any negative moodlets from working out. He mostly worked out at the gym so he could be mentored. I divided his time between the weight machine and the treadmill since he could get fun (from the TV) and social (by chatting) while on the treadmill. Since he was almost always very energized, he slept very little. Every day when he got home from work, he would eat and start his daily task (study opponents) on the tv, thus gaining fun. He would then switch to the computer to finish the task, since that is faster.

I also bought a tub and he used the muscle relaxing soak + incense every day to get the 12-hr energized moodlet, which kept him energized for his entire work shift. In addition, he drank the energy shake, researched workout tips, and viewed his career reward painting. He went to work with at least +10 energized every day. He never got married. Instead, I bought a massage table and he hired a masseuse every day. He got the deep tissue massage, which gives a 24-hr +1 happy moodlet. He went to the spa once, but I felt that took too much time. I only asked for bonus once, for his final promotion. I'm not much of a gambler and I really held my breath on that one! I never even thought of hacking his work performance, but he still managed to get a promotion pretty much every two days. I can't remember what day he completed the bodybuilder aspiration (need to keep better records!), but it was early on. For the last week or so, he went out dancing quite a bit since all we were doing was waiting for promotions.

I also did not join the career until he got the connections reward.

Thank you @reggikko   :)  This is the first challenge I have ever won so I'm really pleased as it's my favorite skill. I agree with the whole gambling aspect, I very rarely use the hack work performance interaction because of the high failure rate but I knew I was going to have to take the chance in order to inch ahead of you guys!

Wonderfull scores everyone, its so nice to see us so close on the top, even though it will get me less points :P

I decided to dive in without doing any strategy round this time. And am pleased that i managed to get the challenge done in such a timely manner.
Where Playalot was lucky with the hacking. I actually had one unlucky hack that set me back a day in the challenge :)

How do I find out what Sim week I am in?

New Year's Resolution

Goal
First there was the leftover candy from Spooky Day, then 5 holiday parties culminating in the New Year's Eve party of the century. The result? Your Sim is going to have a hard time achieving that goal of becoming a Star Athlete and Bodybuilder.

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules
  • Create one Young Adult with maximum weight and minimum muscle. Traits = Lazy, Glutton, and Gloomy.
  • No adding to the household.
  • No moving.
  • No changing aspirations until you've completed Bodybuilder.
  • You are allowed to add one Maxis-made spa venue to Willow Creek, Oasis Spring, Magnolia Promenade, or Newcrest.  Choose between these four: Perfect Balance Spa, Center of Center Massage, Aham Ashram Yoga Studio, or Luxe Health Club.  Choose wisely which spa venue you want to add, no changing after you start your game.
  • The insta-lean potion, slimify serum and diet ice cream are banned.
  • This challenge ends when your Sim has completed the Bodybuilder Aspiration and maxed one of the athletic careers.

Scoring

Scoring is the total minutes it takes to complete your task of capping an athletic career and completing the Bodybuilder Aspiration. When you have done both, pause your game and write down the day and time, including AM or PM. Also, open your Simology tab and note your days to age up and your current Life Stage  - i.e. Young Adult or Adult.  Post your information and we will manually calculate the total minutes for you.

Minutes — Total minutes needed to cap an athletic career and finish the Bodybuilder Aspiration.

Ch-Ch-Changes
The team does not want to edit and make changes to the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else we reserve the right to ask affected players to redo their effort.

Have Questions?
Please think hard before you ask in the challenge thread because it may be strategy. What you may consider an innocent question could cause another player to go — “oh, I did not think of doing that.” It’s always safer to PM everyone on the team (Metro, ratchie, Nutella, LenaLJ, Trip, and MarianT) for clarifications. Thanks.

And the Winner is...
After this event has closed everyone is encouraged to discuss how they approached the event, but the winner especially is expected to do so in detail.

Thank you Joria. I can put my sim up on the Gallery but I didn't spend much time working on him in CAS. I'll put the version of him once he'd finished the challenge. He looked much better then lol . He'll be under 'Playalot2002' and hashtags 'newyearsresolution' and 'carlsguide'.

My Sim just died of over exertion!  Didn't even know that could happen!  :D :D :D
He was a 109 and days into Elder so I guess I wasn't doing that well.  I'm not sure what Sim week that would be.  Someone told me 15? I will be starting over and hoping for better results.  I thought this challenge looked easy but I guess not...

@KSalmon74

You can keep track of the weeks manually.  3 weeks as YA, 3 weeks as Adult, so if you are in elder then it is going to be week 6 and up.
