I'm finally done.  Oscar reached level 10 of Athlete career, 5 days before becoming elder, Week 6, Sunday 9.00pm. 52,620 total score, I think?  Just to clarify he started on the Saturday at 2.45am.  At first I wasn't sure why he started at this time and not the usual Sunday morning.  But I had a bug (had from since the pool patch) and some instructions just have numbers and random letters, hence me not knowing what to do half the time.  The Athletic and Business challenge I've not been able to do because of it, so I uninstalled Sims 4 and re-installed it to fix the problem (took forever!).  I thought it would just erase all previous game, so I didn't think when I created his household that I already had someone living in that town, hence the Saturday 2.45am time slot.  About a week in, much to my surprise, I saw my other previous guy and then I realised all my old games were still there!  There was absolutely no advantage to this as I didn't join the career to the Sunday as is, and he set himself on fire the first day, and had the tense moodlet for the next 24 hours which allowed me to do very little.  In hindsight, I learned a lot.  And now I know what I should have done differently!!!
I hope this still counts???  If not I'll understand.  It's still all trial and error for me.  I'm just very happy to be able to read everything once again :)

Sorry @crstasse, your score will be a DNF.  All challenges must start on a new game (fresh, virgin, unaltered town).  Do not hit the big "play" button in the middle of the screen, do not hit load game, hit the "+" sign that says new game when starting challenges.

No worries  :) I still learned a lot, up until now I've not been terribly good with careers, so for me to get a sim to reach level 10 before they are old is something  :D

@Nutella

Sorry for the late reply!  But it ended on a Wednesday.  9:03 pm, and she had 17 days left until elder.
