More detail for finding sims

A lot of times when I want my sim to visit another sim and that sim isn't home, there will be a message saying "Sim is out at the moment" on the other house. Is there a way I can get the game to be more specific.

I've been having a similar situation happening in my games. I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done about it. Meaning giving you a more specific message. You keep a watch on the sim you want to visit. That's what I've been doing, and then invite yourself over. *Snicker*

I find that when it displays that message, the Sim you want to find is either at their workplace or moving along the road/footpath to somewhere. Might need to wait about 1 Sim hour and see if it updates. If necessary, switch over to the Sim's household but make sure you don't have any promised wishes at the time.

If you aren't doing a challenge or game that doesn't prevent the use of cheats, try using resetsim Firstname Lastname of the sim you are wanting to find. So, if  it is Christopher Steel, use 'resetsim Christopher Steel'.

The sim will return to their home, and if you're quick enough (or already at their home waiting for them), you can get them before they leave again.
