Methods of filling hunger in the game (poll option?)
« on: December 03, 2015, 07:20:24 PM »
Might be fun to collect a few statistics; out of all the EPs, which method(s) do we all use? There's:

a) Cooking skill
b) Restaurant/Diner
c) Pizza Delivery
d) Advanced Technology skill
e) Witch spell (Hunger Charm)
f) Meals summoned by Genies
g) Portable fruit

If I missed any, feel free to mention them and I'll add them in.

Mine mostly cook, but supplement with the occasional fruit or WA food morsels from inventory. I like the wood-fired oven from Monte Vista, it does add to slowly cooking skill but not the meals cooked stats. This can be important in dynasties.

Mine use the mini fridge from uni expansion - apart from the cost of the fridge, no cost to get out the foods. Of course, you have to have uni expansion to use it. plus you can put it under a bench and put something like a small stereo on top of the bench if you need to save space.

Also harvestibles from around the home town.

And the diner/bistro particularly if I don't want to use friendly and funny interactions to get sims up to the stage of having a good enough status with my sim for them to be asked to move in.

I use the cooking skill. Also occasionally magic or if I want the sim to be social - going to a diner.

I usually play fairies so mostly fruit. Eating fruit is fast and I like fast... They only have cooked food if I'm not watching and they get it before I fruit them. lol

With the University Life EP you can use candy and soda machines to up your hunger a bit and also at Cafe bars you can buy brownies, muffins, etc. And with the Seasons EP you can have picnics and go to food stands at the town festival.  :) Also food trucks and icecream trucks (Food Trucks are Late Night EP but I'm not sure about the icecream) but they occasionally give bad moodlets like freezerburn and food poisoning but otherwise you'll get good moodlets (not sure what they say) That's all I can think of  :)

But I usually use the candy/soda from the machine and just regular cooking from fridge

I have recently reloaded the farmer's fresh market stands premium content, that sell most harvestables that you can eat from it in my game - I've even gotten life fruit from it on occasion.

I top up each of my sims with fruit from it, and feed it to them when they are hungry - helpful for the early days when I view them sitting at a table eating as an unnecessary waste of time, instead they stop their painting/sculpting/gardening/fishing/upgrading/reading/writing/whatever to eat their piece of fruit, and then get back on with it. (for the same reason I give them steel bladder and make sure my sculptor also is stocked up on the potent invigorating elixir.

Yes, I'm a nasty one.

Portable fruit because they can be collected anywhere and eaten anytime. No need to use any equipment in a lot. Most useful in long distance and duration fishing trips.
