How would Connections be a benefit in this type of dynasty and would it be the same for heirs as well as founders?  I obviously got my start up money via moving in a wealthy family who also provided me with much needed helpers.  I thought Connections was only really good for careers like business or the techie kinds.  I am SO bad at strategy and thinking things through.  Sometimes my head feels like it's stuffed with wool.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

@Joria, the Connections reward lets your Sims start any career level 4 instead of 1. It takes a bit of micromanaging to rack up the 3000 points needed, so you'd have to weigh whether you want to spend the points that way given that your Sims have to also buy several expensive rewards.

Looks like even though i did not read your plan before i made mine that we are doing rather similiar strategies.

I choose a house from the beginning though for the story and to be a bit nice to my sims for once, it wont change the strategy factor though.

Good luck, and interesting to see if the last heir in all lines also looks alike. :)

Connections let you starts any career at level 4.  My plan is to get connections, then join every single career once to get all the bonuses money and rewards.  Can be quite a lot of money after selling all the rewards, let's see how much I will make exactly after I start my dynasty.

The easiest is of course move in a wealthy family, but I want to try something different.

I look through the houses and a lot of nice ones that I want are around $17-$19k, I don't have the money to buy them!  I mean I will have the money if I move in a wealthy family, or just move in any family entirely, but my plan is just to move in a single sim which won't bring in any money.  I will have just $17k to spend until I get Connections.

I think people are going to learn a lot from reading your playthrough. The 3 sisters are gorgeous -- how did you get your alien disguise to have the same features as the other 2?

Alter disguise.  You can change anything (except body shape) while in alter disguise mode.  Since I use a specific face and same makeup for the other 2 sisters, it was easy for me to pick the same face and same makeup for my alien.

Ooh, I'll be looking forward to that. It takes me several Sim days to get to 3000.

There is no need to start with your Alien sim first.  The town needs to populate, give the game some time to insert some aliens into the town naturally.  Or you can have your other sims help out the alien.  I am going to start with my Mansion founder solely because I am going alphabetically.

Ahri ~ Week 1: Sunday-Monday

She didn't want to marry for money, she wants love.  Doesn't matter if he has the noncommittal trait, doesn't matter if he is poor, she wants J and J only.

After J moved in, both change their aspirations to "Soulmate", this is the easiest aspiration to complete early for points.  She asked J to go on 2 dates with her, but didn't have to do much to get it completed.  Just ask to go on date, then end date early, it will count on the aspiration panel.
  • Go on 2 Dates (Soulmate Milestone 1)
Next up on the agenda is to get pregnant.  She bought the cheapest bush available, good enough.

While the bush also acts as a bathroom, it cannot check for pregnancy.  That task requires a regular toilet.  Ahri note down her time of pregnancy, so her sisters can time their pregnancy.
  • 11:30am

After the bush episode, it is much easier to ask J to be her boyfriend.
  • Have a Boyfriend or Girlfriend (Soulmate Milestone 1)
  • Become an Adult (Soulmate Milestone 2)
There is a reason why "Family Oriented" trait is on all three sisters, so that they could make friends with their intended spouse very quickly.  The "Boast about family" interaction got her and J to BFF status in no time.  Originally she wanted to elope with J, but since one of her Mansion requirement is to have unique gold medal party, why not throw a wedding?
  • Be Married to BFF (Soulmate Milestone 2)
  • Achieve Soulmate Relationship with Spouse (Soulmate Milestone 3)
To prepare for her wedding, she bought a cheap refrigerator/oven/counter to make a wedding cake, while J took a nap in the bush.

She also bought an arch and invited her sisters to the wedding.  Let's begin.

She completed the 1st requirement by drinking an orange juice (from quick meal) and J drank 2 orange juices while chatting with her sisters for 2 hours.

Next #2 and #3 requirements can be completed by getting married, which also completes the main goal of the party.

Time for wedding cake, and the best part is eating cake also completes the eat food requirement.  Gold wedding party done.

After her sisters left, she clean up the lot, sold all her wedding gifts, and went on 5 dates with J.
  • Earn Silver on 2 Dates with Spouse (Soulmate Milestone 3)
  • Earn Gold on 3 Dates with Spouse (Soulmate Milestone 4)
She likes all the simple ones and reserve "Passionate Kiss" for gold date.  There is a cooldown on passionate kiss, no need to waste that cooldown on silver dates.
Flirt with Your Date
Kiss Your Date
Give Your Date a Massage
Sit and Talk to Your Date
Joke with Your Date
Have Deep Conversations with Your Date
Kiss Your Date Passionately **

By early morning next day around 1:30am, she achieved enough points for Connections.

Both were exhausted, she took the couch while J naps in the bush again.  Joining career will just have to wait.

Household funds is at $16,457 before she joins any career.

With her "Connections" reward, she join all the careers (13 in total), but made sure Culinary career is the last one she joins.  All the career rewards and bonuses brought her household funds up to $47,608.
$31,151 profit, not bad for only costing 2 hours of her time.

With that nice little profit there, Ahri and J went house shopping at #carlsguiderdc.  They ended up choosing a house built by @Playalot.

House cost $19,769, she still has plenty of money left to spend on other things.  Good buy.

Ahri loves how open the house design is.  She has no patience for stairs, takes too long to go up and down, so she chose one without stairs.  This house also have a spare bedroom for her little one, and both bedrooms can access the bathroom and kitchen easily.   There is enough space in the kitchen/dining area for Ahri to add a bar, and J can remodel the front office into an art studio for his newest hobby, painting.

Nice work! It'll be interesting to see if J's kid in your game looks like J's kid in mine.

Haha yes, that would be interesting.  I love sims genetics, let's see how he/she turns out compare to Azalea.  Not using strawberry/carrot, so not sure if my heir is male or female, but one thing I know for sure is the heir is going to have brown hair.

Wow!  (kicks self for being so traditional)  I always do the weddings up huge and NEVER thought eat cake took care of eating the food nor did I think about OJ but always had a mixologist.  SIGH  If I wasn't so far ahead with my retail founder I'd do a do-over to do just what you did.  Ah well, not too late for the other two.  Thank you so much.  Between you and Playsalot I'm Ms. Learnsalot.

wow, that is just...brilliant. Simply brilliant. *takes down notes* My alien founder is too far up the astronaut career (three or four) for me to do the connections thing but his spouse will certainly get it. Man, this is going to put my mansion founder way far in the lead but with luck the retail founder can do some of this before their week ends.

Brilliant strategy, Nutella. I have also used the Soulmate aspiration for my Mansion and Retail founders for the aspiration points to join their chosen careers. I did not want to exploit the other careers like you did, because I enjoy my game the most when my sims are struggling in the beginning and living on the lawn (I am a sadist, I guess).

I could not go the Soulmate route with the Alien founder, because there were no disguised alien ladies around the town. I had him meet ALL the single ladies in my game, but no luck, so I had to have him build a rocket and meet his spouse in Sixam. I managed to get her pregnant just before the first week was over.
