Is learning to drive broken?
« on: December 02, 2015, 06:58:18 PM »
As in the title. My Sim has been in the car (motive mobile) almost non stop for the last few days, and he hasn't gained any levels, nor has the progress bar moved. I've run resetsim * to try to fix it, nothing.

Have you tried a different vehicle? I'm not having any trouble with learn to drive, but I don't use the motive mobile.

I tried to use that vehicle to teach a teen to drive, but the game wouldn't let me; it'd force one of the actual cars purchasable from the transportation section of the outdoors tab.

It looks like it's working in my current game as well. Although I am using a vehicle that was purchased out of buy mode, and it's sitting in the driveway.

All I had to do is select the teen, and then click on the parent and then select Ask for help learning to drive.

It might be that the Motive Mobile isn't allowed to be used for teaching a teen to drive? Like others have suggested, try using a different vehicle?

I will when I hop on next and update you. Though it's odd, Thomas has learned so far how to drive in one. He's level 2, about 5/6 of the way up the progress bar. ???

The only other thing I can think of is as a test take the current family and try them out in a new game to see if they can finish being taught how to drive?

Bought them a Yomoshoto Evasion, that fixed it. :) They do get randomly teleported out though, I don't know what's up with that. I can live with it.

Now that does happen occasionally to my sims. I had one that got stressed so fast. He finally finished learning after teleporting out. His progressed kept increasing while he was running around town.
