@jaycravn:

We're working on the Story Mode allowing vs banning so hang tight or make your founders without it for the time being.

We don't consider Freelancing a true qualifying career option for other dynasties, though it doesn't mean there's not room to play with it either.

Scouting's not a part-time job so it wouldn't count.

I'm not sure. I think it's just because it's a big lot and your sims' network of worlds isn't lacking for gyms either. :P There might be a case for opening it up to any lot at the player's discretion but I feel this keeps everything simple and consistent.

Trip, are you sure about this because previously MarianT said

Does scouting count as a part-time job?

Yes. Your teen will have to become a Llamacorn scout (I think that's the highest level), as a teen. In other words, if your Sim reaches Llamacorn level as a child, he or she will have to do something else as a teen.

I'm just checking because even though I'm not doing a HoF run, I'm sticking to the rules and I've been using Scout as a teen career.

Added:

You may use CAS Stories, but if you use it for one founder, you have to use it for all three.

Added to the rules:

As a teen, the heir must make an A in school and either reach level 3 of a part-time job or reach level 5 of Scouting or Drama Club.

When ROM arrives, I plan to add a Spellcaster option, but I need to see the pack before doing that. I'm also looking at a Celebrity option.

Scouting's not a part-time job so it wouldn't count.

Freelancing isn't a true career, it's more like the Acting Career as it works off of gigs, but you never get promoted in freelance. It is because freelancing in real life has not job ranks, it's basically you earn more money with each job you complete. Therefore, it won't count as a real job and your Sims can't use it for the dynasty. However, you can have spares, spouses or helpers try it out. They are not restricted on jobs.

Likewise, while Scouting has ranks, it's an after-school activity like Drama Club, and after-school activities aren't part-time jobs. The good news is that you only have to go to scout meetings every weekend for three hours a day so you might be able to multi-task some part-time jobs with it.

Scouts and Drama club are fine, but of course you don't have to use them if you don't want to (bold highlight by me.)

We're adding two new Bloodlines:

H. The Spellcaster Bloodline

1. The Founder and Heirs must complete either the Spellcaster or the Potions aspiration.
2. They must remove a curse at least once.
3. They must obtain 13 spellcaster perks.
4. They must have a 7-item collection of different wands, brooms or familiars.

I. The Well-Educated Bloodline

1. The Founder and Heirs must complete the Academic aspiration. (Note: graduating with a distinguished degree is part of the aspiration.)
2. Each distinguished degree in the bloodline must be in a different major.
3. Aging up requirements for toddlers, children, and teens are different from the other bloodlines:
Toddlers must achieve Topnotch Toddler status (max all 5 skills) before they can be aged up.
Children must max the Whiz Kid aspiration and one other aspiration before they can be aged up.
Teens can be aged up as soon as they receive a scholarship.
Note: if toddlers, children or teens age up before achieving these goals, that's fine. These are requirements for aging them up early.

Woohoo! I will definitely try this challenge after the next EA/maxis patch for DU. There is a bug with adding UNI sims to households that is open on EA answers. The workaround (a combination of cheats and mods to fix) uncovered or created a different problem- diplomas for random sims kept spawning in their inventory.

Thanks for adding the new bloodline options. Now i have to figure out which 3 - all of them look so interesting.

Does the founder off an education bloodline also need to earn a distinguished degree? Can a sim be accepted into a distinguished degree if starting off as a young adult? Just curious as they will not have a high school GPA, scouts, or starting skill level that would get them accepted into a distinguished program.
