@MrsFlynn All of a sudden I'm having problems with my game loading. When my launcher is up, everything is check to what I want to be in game, I click on the button to start loading the game and it stays at the black screen. FOREVER. I have to actually restart my computer to get out of it.

This may have to do with the new Origin Sims 3 patch. From what I've been reading it's a real drain on system resources and can cause problems with your game.

KRae posted about the new update the other day. And I've added some links to her post that might be helpful.

Interestingly enough, I have had no trouble with Sims 3 after the patch. I did tell it not to load anything apart from the base game, it also included the (minimal) store content I installed on my laptop.

After I updated Origin and the launcher, everything was fine. Played my game with no problem, now I can't get it to open. Driving me mad.

I hate to ask, but are you having problems loading your saved game or launching the game?

Since Origin works the same regardless if it's Sims 3 or 4, try these tips.

The game. When I open Origin and then click on The Sims 3 and Play, it loads the launcher and goes to the black screen with the blue circle and it should go right into the intro for the game but it just gets stuck ont he black screen. I never even get to my games.

I emailed Hubby about this and he mentioned a few tips that might help.

1. Check to see if you need to update your graphics card drivers

2. Turn off Origin in-game

Open up Origin, Go to My Games. Click on the 'I' button next to the 'Play' button by the Sims 4 game. Then click on Game Properties. Check the box to disable Origin in Game

3. Repair game - Right Click on the game and select Repair Game.

4. If that still does not help, please run a Clean Boot as this will help with stopping any other programs from interfering.

I've read where cleaning out the game cache file can mess the game up. Have you done that recently?

Try clearing the game cache files. But then when you start up, make sure that the EPs you intend to play with are still checked as it has been reported that clearing caches also clears the checked selections in the new EP/SP Picker function.

Here's an odd question for you. Have you tried a factory reset and a new game to see if that might help? I keep searching and keep finding that as a tip to try in the cases of the game not loading.

Then if that works, try copying back over your game save files and such.

yep. Did that first thing this morning. LOL Worked but when I had to close the game and do some housework, after about 2 hours I tried to reload and that's when it started.

I'm not entirely sure if running Ccleaner and it's registry cleaner will help but it won't hurt anything to do. Have you done that today?

For grins and giggles, have you tried turning off Origin-in game? and "Offline" mode -- In the Origin Client, go to the Origin Menu and select Go Offline.

And yes, you updated to patch 1.69? If not, would you try launching the game via it's exe file? C:\Program Files (x86)\TheSims3\Game\Bin\TS3W.exe - and click on the file TS3W.exe to launch the game.

Yes I updated. I have the bypass to the launcher on my desktop from before and it does the same thing. But I didn't have the disc in..
