Skills bug

I've been having sims working on leveling their skills, and when the bar maxes out it just keeps going.  I've had logic level 5 at 232%, and it stays there no matter what I do.  I've tried doing other skill building activities, and the other skill works fine, but the game keeps the first skill highlighted and at the over 100% mark until I leave and re-enter the game.  Even while sleeping the sims is still 'leveling' the skill.  I can't save the game when this happens because the game says a sims is aging up whenever this happens.  When I exit and reenter, sometime it goes fine, and sometime it happens to  different skill on a different sim.

This sounds familiar, I think I had something like this but with guitar skill I think. Have you tried travelling off the lot with the sim that has the glitch at the moment? If that doesn't work try clearing out the cache folder and doing a 'repair game' through Origin. I'm pretty sure that's all it took to clear the glitch.

for me the simplest way to fix this bug is by triggering the normal level up. It could happen with any skills so it was pretty annoying.

@Playalot I've been repairing my game after every session, to help keep bugs down.  Weirdly, my cache is always empty, and the only thing that shows up in cachestr is spotlight.package.  Should I be worried that my game never creates cache files?  I'll try traveling next time and post back here again after that.

@dodi90  what do you mean by triggering the normal level up?

In plain word just keep doing activities until your sim level up

It's gone on for multiple sim days in game.  They won't level.

Just press M to travel, then cancel it out or use the dresser to change outfits.  That should fix it for you.

If you are clearing your cache file every day then it will be empty so thats fine. It takes a bit of game play for files to mount up.


*Edited: It was the logic skill that my sim got stuck on to but this was some time last year. I reset my sim. (resetsim [firstname lastname] ) Then had him play a game of chess and that fixed it. Luckily I take notes of all my bugs and glitches lol. Let's hope this works for you too.

This glitch is on my immortal dynasty file, would it be alright for me to use reset sim for this?

Yep, reset sim should be fine for dynasties. Just ask on that thread for clarification

They will eventually level if you keep the skill up going on and it fixes the bar. It is just hard to track the actual skill progression because of that bug.
