Sims 3 is a completely different game. It it a very graphic intense game and a very buggy game as well. It's been suggested to have at minimum 4 GB memory. But would work better with 8GB memory. Specially if you have a lot of Sims 3 expansions, stuff packs and store content.

Mhm, even though on the box it says minimum of 1.5 for Vista/7 machines {this is a Win 7 Pro rig} And the only expansions and store content I want/have are already listed {the CC is Elsa related, dress, character, hair, etc. Then after that I go over to the expansions I want/have World adventures, Seasons, Pets, Late Night, and Supernatural}. I'm not sure if it is my latest install of Suprnatural a week ago is whaty did it or what.

OK, so, I think I figured out the problem as sudden as it is. Though I do like Bridgeport, its buggy as heck. However, if I go to other towns {sunset valley, Moonlight Falls, maybe if I install it again Riverview....}. I think it is Bridgeport that is my problem....

The game has gone through a lot of patches and game engine tweaks. What it states for minimum requirements on the box will only run the game. To get it to perform well enough without very much lag, crashing and general headaches you need better than recommended requirements.

Maybe at least try Riverview? You can always uninstall it if it is giving you problems. :)

It seems I need to reinstall certain things for my Sims. In this case Elsa's dress, hair, and thankfully the skin I managed to find.

I plan now to upgrade my still new laptop though, It needs more ram to begin with. Thankfully I can get a 4 gb card in here to add to the first 4gb already in here. Its a bit laggy, but it actually isn't that bad now, started a new game in Moonlight Falls with just the daughter, I need to get things fixed back up to get them to work.

For the moment yes it is working better. So far only Bridgeport is really laggy out of all the towns I have so far. Moonlight Falls seems to be the least laggy, and Bridgeport the most.

I think for now I can live with the lag, I dont plan on getting Season or World adventures for some time so I can save some extra monies, thankfully my new laptop, which I got in order to play both Sims3 and Disney Infinity to begin with, can support up to 16GB ram in it. Right now I am merely trying to get my Sims back to normal, Only thing missing for Elsa is the hair, and finding it is a pain in the butt, BUT I managed to fix the complete ebony skin glitch issue by reinstalling the CC for Elsa directly, only thing did not install was the hairstyles

Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the help MrsFlynn!

I'm happy I was able to help, even a little. :)

I was searching out some tips and saw this on Bridgeport, so I thought I'd pass it along.

Bridgeport

I still have yet to really play in Bridgeport even though we've had this expansion since it came out. Not a big fan of the big cities. So moving them to a different town was a great idea!! :)

Bridgeport is known for it's lag. I think it's because there is so much detail in the apartment buildings and skyscrapers! Also the number of cars the game randomly produces is astronomical! But Overwatch should take care of the cars! I tried a generational game in Bridgeport the once and had to quit after Gen 2 was an Adult, I just couldn't take the lag anymore, and the hours it took to travel anywhere! And that was with only 3 family members and a relatively small house.

Moonlit Falls is pretty lag-free in my game, as is Riverview and Sunset Valley and Dragon Valley too. Although my generational game in SV did get pretty laggy towards the end of Gen 4 but then I had a huge house and 6 sims and 2 pets and just about all the store content and SP and EP and a whole bunch of CC too. NRAAS was a huge help with that. The Saver mod came in handy because if I didn't save at least every 15 RL minutes I would end up with Error 12.

Good luck with your new game and I hope it is lag-free :-)

I like Moonlight Falls, its easy, and lag free, so, what I think I will do is save everything into the family inventory, all their inventories and the like, then move them into either Sunset Valley, or Moonlight Falls. or maybe that one town that came with Pets ?

I tried the Overwatch, there was stuff in there that was also set to clear out character inventories, which I did not want, loads of stuff I am working on, all sorts of skill opps related to writing and painting, and gem collecting. {huge collection, I ran out of space and had to add onto the house just for the gems I wanted to keep!!}

Having a lot of stuff in the Sims inventories can cause lag and quite a bit if they're pretty stuffed.

If I may make a suggestion of make a copy of your current game. You can do this by using Save As and give it a new or similar name. For example: NameOfSave-Test

Then go to that save, delete all the extra stuff the family has in their personal and family inventories. Did you say they live in a pretty big house with lots of furniture/decor? Maybe while your testing move them out into a smaller house with less furniture and decor. Save the game.

Play the game for a little bit to see if it plays any better. This will tell you if your lag is at least somewhat caused by overstuffed inventories and/or big house with a lot of furniture and decor.

Also in Moonlight Falls, I've had better luck with lag and slow rendering if I simply delete the trees from the home lot.
