"Trapping skill"? I'm a bit confused. Where does it come from?

It was just an example.

In order to give an example without exposing any strategy talk, I invented a "trapping skill"  ;D

Correct.

Example:
Let's say female sim have trapping skill and crafted a Rat Trap -- you decided to leave it in House #1.

Now let's say your trapping skill increase and you can create Poison Rat Trap, however you CANNOT leave it in any other house because you already left a rat trap in house 1.  Since poison rat trap uses the same skill (trapping skill), it is off limits.

Suddenly male sim wants to pick up trapping skill, he can but he cannot leave any objects behind because the female sim already left a trapping skill item behind in house 1.

Thanks.  What about with a unique object from buy mode?  If a Sim buys a toilet for one house, can the Sim buy a different toilet for another house, or would that be considered not unique?

As long as the toilets have different names, that would be okay. I can't remember the names of the toilets, so I'll use the refrigerators as an example -- you could leave a Crisponix Deluxe in one house and a Budget Crisponix in another.

I've read these rules and all the comments twice. I still don't have a clue what I'm really supposed to do and how to strategize this. Sigh. Reading a third time. I'm sure it's just me. The struggle...

EDITED: Okay, third time's the charm! I think I have it now.  8)

Ok, I'm asking.  What happens if one of your Sims dies?  Can you add another or is it game over?  Mine came close which is what prompted the question.

Adding another would be breaking the no adding to the household rule. But, there's nothing preventing you from continuing with the remaining Sim.

I will enjoy my brief stay at the top of the list.  8)  I don't expect that score will hold up for very long, but at least I finished one.
This has been a busy year and I have missed almost every single challenge.  I just realized that the challenge season is almost over.  :(
