That's at least one new confirmed trait.  I hope there's more.

They said there would be two new traits and a new aspiration.

A couple of things that people have noticed in the trailer -- there's a child who is the leader of the Renegade group (they appeared in the last render). Lots of new build mode objects, including a cardboard dance floor and one made out of glass.

While it's nice that clubs will allow players to use content from other packs, let's hope they will add that functionality for future content. Having all these tie together well could make the game much, much better along with other improvements.

Yeah I am actually happy to hear that they make the cafe could be owned with Get Together installed too. One of my main gripe with Sims 3 is how we can create a supernatural, you could create a genie since it was introduced before but you can't create a mermaid, alien or plantsim because it was incorporated later.

On topic of get together, I am really excited for the dance skill and also DJ-ing. I can't wait for december to come.

They've been saying that future content will be incorporated into the clubs, so that's a hopeful sign.

2 New skills to Master

The Sims 4 Get Together Adds Two New Skills to Master

Pump Up the Crowd!

The Sims 4 Get Together* is coming out next month, and brings fun new ways to hang out with friends. There’s the beautiful World of Windenburg, the customizable Clubs feature (which we talked about last week), and two awesome new Skills: DJ and Dancing.

Want a deeper look into how these Skills work? Check out the video below, which walks you through the story of a Sim trying to get in good with the Spin Masters, one of the new Clubs in The Sims 4 Get Together that wants – nay, demands – its members know how to pump up the crowd and cut a rug with the DJ and Dancing Skills.

Pretty cool, right? But there’s plenty more to get excited about. The higher you level up your Sim’s Dancing and DJ Skills, the more powerful and bigger the performance.

The DJ Skill starts off with Sims learning the basics of pumping up the crowd. But the more they work, and the harder they party, the better they’ll get at getting the room on its feet. From making mix tapes to controlling the emotions of the room with the Feel the Crowd ability, the DJ Skill is an absolute must-have for anyone who wants to take over the room and turn the party up to 11. One of their advanced abilities is called Teleplosion – once your DJ has added it to their DJ Booth, the DJ can activate it to take over TVs in the room for the ultimate performance! It’s electrifying!

Dancing gets more exciting as Sims level it up, too. While Sims can already dance in The Sims 4, the addition of a Skill in Get Together lets them get much more adept at busting a move. While there are obvious upgrades, like being able to do cooler and cooler dances, there are also some more impressive feats – Sims with Dancing skill can do a Fire Dance at the Bonfire. There’s also a new Dance Floor object, where Sims can show off more dances and initiate Dance Battles. You can even show off your group’s skills with the ability to initiate a Group Dance, showing some synchronized swagger. Needless to say, high level Dance Skills let your Sims really step it up on the dance floor.

We hope you liked this peek into the world of The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack, and we can’t wait to see how your Sims enjoy the new Skills when it comes out in December.

So now I'm sitting here frustrated because December 8 is SO FAR AWAY~~!  At first I was going to get this EP just because it's what I do.  I'm not a party animal type, never have been, and wasn't all that thrilled.  Now I can hardly wait.  What I noticed that I liked:

New hair styles/colors
New clothes
Fist bump (seems silly but it's so cute to see kids do it)
New traits
New Skills
New lots/sizes
New build/buy stuff (YAAAAYYY!)
Did you catch that twirling fire or baton thing?  Love it!
Swimming holes and not just pools  (I wonder if we'll be able to put one on our lots?)
Tudor modern architecture, (although I'm not really sure about how it was blended, not really what I remember of Europe)

Things I wonder about:
How do you get to that island?
Can you actually cross the bridges I saw or are they just scenery
Can you have boats
Can you swim in the lake/ocean?
Will there be more/different fish, bugs, plants
Will there be outdoor food carts or veggie/plant stands?
Can there be an open air market you can make with functional places in it?

So I went from ambivalent to excited.  Can hardly wait to play.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Joria, I can answer a couple of your questions:

No boats yet -- I think they would have mentioned them by now.
You can swim in the natural pond, but not the ocean.
We haven't heard yet about more collectibles -- fingers crossed we'll get something.
No outdoor food carts or plant stands.
No outdoor market, but I think you could take an empty lot and add a cash register to it now to make an open air market.

Yep, I agree that was a pesky little bugger! Happy to announce that fix will be patched out when we release Get Together :)

Finally they fix it. Now I can delete shimrod mods to make less musical chair. Funny sometimes how modders were quick to make quick fix but from developer it could take like nearly a year to fix the problem.

I know the feeling.  However, sometimes its not the coders fault if a fix isn't released quickly.  Many companies like EA/Maxis require  testing for certain fixes, and whatnot and to make sure more bugs aren't introduced.  Of course, I will agree they should test things more before release...and this doesn't excuse them when they don't fix bugs from newer content, or something that could be really old (like the musical chairs bug...and I hate to say it, but EA/Maxis was this in the Sims 2 and 3 days).

However, I do agree when modders can get a fix out :)

Of course, sometimes nothing gets fixed *looks at the end of the Sims 3*

@Joria, I'm weirdly excited about fist bumps too. It's just another way they're adding depth and charm to the game and I love it :))

Explore New Venues, Special Locations, and more in Windenburg

Explore the New World

The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack* is coming out next month, and it’s all about new ways to get together and go out with groups of Sims. So naturally, they need all sorts of fantastic new locations to go out to! That’s why we built the new World of Windenburg, a visually-striking European-inspired location that looks like nothing you’ve ever seen before in The Sims 4.

Windenburg is jam-packed with things to do and places to see, including three Special Venues, two new Venue types, and some changes to Nightclubs and Bars. Here’s a look at the places your Sims will be able to explore in December.

The Von Haunt Estate.
Windenburg’s prized Von Haunt Estate is a historic and enchanted garden property that’s been up kept as a famous museum and tourist attraction. Its most notable landmark is the enormous and perfectly pruned hedge maze where Sims can get lost for hours. Oh, and don’t be surprised if you run into the former Lord and Lady who used to inhabit the location before its new owners took over – even after 100 years of being deceased, they’re still around to entertain and terrify their guests.

The Bluffs.
This secluded island is a picturesque and forgotten location that’s perfect for a group of Sims to get away to with no interruption. Facing the gorgeous Windenburg lake view is the bonfire where your Sims can cozy up or compare their best fire dance moves. There’s also a natural pool for swimming (or skinny dipping), and if you’re really patient, you just might catch a glimpse of Windenburg’s elusive sea monster.

The Ancient Ruins.
This is by far the best spot for a private Dance Party. By day, it’s a serene and preserved area for the locals to take in, appreciate, and explore. But at night, the huge ruins walls are the perfect backdrop for DIY stage lights, fog, and laser beams that emit from the DJ booth. It’s got a small buildable lot by the party area in case you want to supplement your gathering with any other helpful or fun objects.

The Café Venue.
Latte, anyone? At the new Café Venue, your group can order their drinks for here or to go. The new Barista NPC and Espresso Machine are at your service to serve up your favorite frothy beverage and flaky pastry. You can order a pre-work shot that puts you in the perfect emotion to go to work in.

Community Pool Venue.
Cannonball!!!
While the new Pool Venue type itself will be available for everyone when The Sims 4 Get Together releases, it really shines best with the fun new objects we made specific to this pack. We added a slew of cool new community and natural pool decorations, like pool lanes, new pool trims, and a handful of different pool water colors so you can jazz it up. The most exciting new pool object specific to The Sims 4 Get Together is the Jumping Platform: this object gives your Sims the elevation they need to impress their friends with a flawless backflip or endure a humiliating belly flop.

Nightclub and Bar Changes.
To make Windenburg feel really unique, we made some changes to two of the pre-existing Venue types: Nightclubs and Bars. Now, you can visit European-inspired Discotheques and quaint Pubs. We’ve added a number of fun pub games like Darts, Foosball, and Don’t Wake the Llama to bolster the community vibe and keep your Sims hooting it up. There are even special themed nights almost every day of the week, so your Sim and their friends might find themselves in the midst of Ladies’ Night (or Knight Night).

Even more exciting than the things we put into the new World are the things you will build in it, something we think will be made even cooler thanks to the inclusion of two massive 64x64 lots in Windenburg. These are the biggest lots we’ve had in The Sims 4 to date, and we can’t wait to see what you do with them – and the rest of the World – when The Sims 4 Get Together comes out this December.
