In Sims2, they had this machine where you can change the way you look (at least the face). I based one of my Sims 2 stories from that machine, I had an ugly duckling Sim change into a beautiful teen and followed her story from there.

I remember that! And when things goes wrong your Sim would came out uglier than ever before.

Yeah, ugly would come out if the Sim who used it did not have a golden mood. It's a career reward that can only be used when a Sim's mood is platinum or gold, they don't have that now in Sims3. :)

Career rewards are back now. At least since Late Night. But the objects you reseive don't have those crazy effects on your sims that they used to have back in The Sims 2.

Howly plant cow, how I miss that plant cow! :O

They always have had career rewards or perks, it's just that they have not been based so much around the gold/platinum mood system. You can refer to Carl's career list for this.
