Problem: NPCs all go to same lot

Hi!
I couldn't find a topic which addressed this, so if there is one that you know of please redirect me in the right way.

I'm experiencing a rather annoying NPC issue. What happens is that all NPCs in town (Bridgeport) are suddenly drawn to the same lot, where they all go and stand around doing nothing. It happens to be a bar (The Prosper Room), but it's not because it's a hotspot or anything like that.
If I invite people over for a party, they come to my door and hand over any party food they might have, but directly afterwards they say thanks and leave for The Prosper Room. My maid also comes to my house, walks in the door but turns around and goes to The Prosper Room - same for my butler.
I have tried reseting all sims in town but they still keep going back to the same place.

This has happened to me once before in another save, where they all would go to Waylon's Haunt and stand around, but after some time this phenomenon stopped and it went back to normal.
At the moment it has really started to annoy me, since I'm on my 11th generation in my dynasty and I'm trying to make a politician successful, which as you know requires a lot of party guests.
Has anyone experienced this, and did you manage to solve it?

I'm not finding much on this game-glitch.

It may not be the exact same problem, but it gives some pretty good tips to maybe try to see if it fixes the problem you're experiencing.

One of the tips is to bulldoze and replace the community lot your visitors go to. There's also mods that might be helpful. Nraas's Overwatch, and Error Trap.

Overwatch - Performs game cleanup once every 24 sim hours.
Error Trap - Grabs errors, logs them and resets the sim rather than just letting the error sit there.

Thank you MrsFlynn, that was very helpful!
I think I know the cause now, it must be one of my Sims who is an actress, she had a career opportunity there which made the town drawn to the lot. The opportunity was never finished since I was promoted the next day. When I was promoted to director, this disabled the opportunity but didn't stop the NPCs from being called to the lot. I guess this will cease whenever I get a new career opportunity at another lot (or the same one). Or perhaps when my Sim dies? So hopefully this won't last forever!
