So, maybe it's Dude's traits but completing the fossil and crystal collections proving a little challenging! He has the bonus trait 'Collector' and so keeps digging up rare fossils and rare crystals, which is great for bringing in extra money but not so great as we need a few common items to complete each collection! I have sent a few test items away to the council as I was hoping the mailbox glitch had been fixed but nothing has been delivered yet. Anyway, I'll see how Dude goes next time I play, he's pretty close to completing a few collections so hopefully we'll get that done before too much longer.

Going by the Nomad Challenge rules Dude could build his house after completing just one collection. I just thought I'd make it a little harder for fun.  Had I actually thought about it, I should have bought Dude a microscope or observatory instead of a shower. That way he could have completed the corresponding collections a lot quicker!

That's true. And it brings in money. And because he'd stay at home a little more, the mail might arrive...

*Nods* Hmm, in the game I actually haven't left the lot since I sent away the last lot of spare metals etc to the council. That mailbox glitch is a right pain. Now that we've had the patch I'm hoping it's all fixed. Either way I'll update the story once I've managed to complete the next two collections, there's only so much you can do with a sim collecting plot-wise without getting totally "creative".    lol Typical Dude, giving me grief!

Well, just don't forget that any loading screen enforces that glitch. So, a save + exit before you receive mail is a no-no. There was no mention of a solution for the mailbox or the missing insects in the patch notes of July, 9th.

No, it can't be fixed as I've waited five sim days now and still nothing has been delivered except for bills.
