@Tixxis, yeah, spent the whole day playing with all the new stuff from Spa Day.  I always build open houses to play in, while closed rooms probably look better they suck to play in.
@Cristina , I don't think teens can be abducted, only young adults and above. It's quite strange playing without aliens whisking my sims off left, right and centre!
@Alarianna , Aw thanks. The yoga makes sims really ripped so that's why he looks a bit older, lost his sort of skinny teen look 'cos of all the muscles. 
@KRae , it's taken about a sim week or so to get to level 6 but I haven't been going all out on the yoga/wellness skill as he's still trying to complete collections in the background. I think if you wanted to fast track it you could probably max the wellness skill in about 3 sim days...maybe 2 if you used potions so your sim doesn't need to sleep/eat/shower etc. Watching the sims do yoga is simply awesome. It's a really well done bit of game play.

Hey watcher, I need to talk to you about something serious.
K. You're not in trouble are you?
No. I'm just thinking that it would be really cool to have Dereck move in. He's homeless and... well...you know, all alone.
Aw, poor kid.
Yeah. So, what do you think? It would be nice to have someone my own age to talk to and stuff.

Dude: Hey Dereck, you wanna move in?
Dereck: *A little stunned*




Dereck: Yeah! I do! That would be wicked!
Dude: Nice.




Dude: So... <whispering>... you in?
Dereck: Lol...totally. *Grin*
Dude: Cool. I'm off to meditate.
Dereck: Catch ya Dude.





*Eyes bug out* Woah! How're you doing that?




Dude: Ommmm, in the zone... mmmm.




*Standing staring* Wow, wish I could do that. Hate to disturb you zen master, but it's time for school.

Alien: You look a little young to be traveling through space alone.
Dude: *Gob smacked* Ummm




Dude: So... are you guys, like aliens?




Aliens: *Cracking up* What? Are you for real kid?




Dude: *trying to save face* I travelled though the worst space storm in the history of space travel to get here. Nearly tore my rocket apart but my awesome skills saved the day.
Aliens: Suuuuuure.




Alien: Hmm you look tasty.
Dude: Huh?




Alien: Oh yeah. I like to eat sims, keeps me young.
Dude: *Gulp* I'm just heading home where my watcher's waiting for me. She's tough-as. Don't wanna be messing with her.





Alien: Na, LOL. I'm just messing with ya. Photo?
Dude: He he sure. I knew you were just kidding eh.




Dude: Hmm, better grab some of these alien crystals and stuff...




Dude: Shame the watcher's not here. I bet she'd really like it.

Dereck: *Thinking* Whew! That was close.
Dude: Hehehe..it was great!

So I used Manage Worlds to move in Dereck as teens don't have the 'move in' social interaction. Problem was that was that it wiped out all of Dude's collections. The actual items were still in his basement but the collections records were wiped clean. *head desk* So the crystals, fossils, Mysim Trophies, frogs etc I just moved back into Dude's inventory where they registered and then replaced them back into the basement. The fish however I had to go catch all over again so they would register as 'caught'. I won't post a chapter about all the fishing, which Dereck and Dude did together as I pretty much just played at speed to get it done again.

I'm still aiming to complete all the collections and skills with Dude and all the aspirations possible with a teen. So everything's back on track now that I've re-caught all the fish. Good thing with doing this was that I learnt where all the new fish are available too. Nice!

I guess because I usually play challenges where Manage Worlds is out of bounds I didn't actually know that merging households etc basically makes a brand new household and so wipes all the collections etc clean. I know now though! 

Aspirations Completed: Body Builder, Musical Genius, Fabulously Wealthy, Nerd Brain, Angling Ace, Freelance Botanist (just as well considering how many fires I keep starting), Outdoor Enthusiast, The Curator.

Skills maxed: Charisma, Guitar, Home Style Cooking, Gourmet Cooking, Fishing, Gardening, Handiness, Logic, Rocket Science, Herbalism,

Collections Completed: Frogs, Fish, Fossils, Plants (all perfect), Microscope Prints.

Sneaky Boy, serves you right to be teased by the aliens.

Note on moving in teens: you can befriend an adult in their group/home, invite said adult to move in and when the selection window comes up only move in the teen and leave the rest of the household behind. You might have to find the group in "manage household" and move them into a house (if "not in this world"). That does not mess with your own household or change collections.

Yep, can't remember the name of one, but my sim caught one in Newcrest it's like a Cicluch or something like that.

@Cristina , it was fun seeing aliens through a 'not so wise' Winston. lol
@Tixxis, Discus, Cichlid, and Exotic Goldfish. You can catch them all over the place, easiest is the river in Oasis Park and the pond in the Glade. Or you can buy an aquarium and choose the 'Fully stock with fish" option and you should get one of each plus 3 more random fish to total 6 fish altogether. They are an 'add on' to the collection the way the fish from Granite Falls are so technically buying them wouldn't matter. I just like to do things the hard way!
@Alarianna , thanks, yeah I know about that way to move in teens. Of course I couldn't use that in this case 'cos Winston's a teen all alone...hence the mess with using Manage Worlds.  I still think that merging households, when playing the original sim still, shouldn't mess with all the collections. I mean after all... it's still the same household after the merge. Anyway, now that Dereck has moved in he is staying for good as I refuse to have the collections wiped out again! Catching all the fish is hard enough once but twice nearly did my head in. I just couldn't catch that dratted Red Tailed Black Shark for ages...and ages. *Still not over it*

Morning Dereck.
Dereck: *Deep Breath* Morning watcher. It's beautiful here eh.
Yeah, it is. My fav place to live I think.
Dude: *Calling out* Hurry up Dereck, we're leaving now!
Chill Dude, we're just coming!




Dereck: Hmm, this isn't as easy as it looks.



Dude: Woops!



Dereck: Least I've got this move aced.
Dude: *Snicker*




Dereck: OOo feeling good.



No time for that, we've got some fishing to do.





Brianna: I'm sure that's not normal...
Dude: *In the zone*
Yeah... I find it a little unnerving too.




Dereck: What I hate the most is having to run everywhere to keep up with his teleporting!




I don't think I'm quite used to seeing you do that. It's freaky.




Oh! Aren't you going to wait for Dereck?
Dude: Na, he'll be ages yet. No time to waste eh watcher.




Dereck: Whew! Thank goodness it's cool in here. It's like 42C out there.

Dereck: So I've just been figuring out what fish we still need. Looks like it's just the angelfish, tilapia and the red tailed black shark.
Dude: Sweet! That'll be easy.




OOo there's that red tailed black shark Dude! Right over there in front of you!
Dude: Hmm I see it watcher.
Dereck: It's pretty tricky to catch actually...




Dude: Got the angel fish. Mount it watcher before it goes foul. Or worse, Dereck uses it for bait!
Dereck: Oi! I only did that once!
Seems so wrong to mount these fish. *Shakes head*




Townie: Well that's an unusual looking fish you've caught there young man.
Dude: Umm... It's a discus I think.




Double catch! Perfect timing boys. Pity we don't need either of those fish though.




Dude: I'm going to head to the little pond at the back of the park.
Good idea, you might have more luck for the red tailed little sucker back there.




Townie: What? Where the.... How did.... What just happened?
Dereck: Oh Dude just teleported to the back of the park, no biggie.




Some hours later....

Dereck: Welcome back Dude.
Dude: Thank you.




Dereck: Ooo I got the tilapia!
Great catch Dereck! Way to go!




Ok. Focus on the red tailed black shark... think it, become it....
Dude: *Snort* That's not gonna happen watcher.
Well, you know what I mean.
Dereck: I think you've been watching too many movies for your own good, just saying.




Dude: You're telling me you actually missed that catch?
Heh, yeah. Got distracted.
Dude: By what?
Drinking my coffee.
Dude: We've been fishing for hours... like all day and you sip your coffee just at the moment that Dereck catches the red tailed black shark?
Heh. Yeah. Sorry.
Dereck: It's cool. I'm just pleased we're all done. *Reeling in his line*
Dude: Honestly watcher... maybe you need a refresher course.

Dude: *Grumpily*How to be a good watcher maybe.

Chapter 26: Dereck's Point Of View


I knew something was a bit different the moment we got home.




For a start no-one told us to put our phones away and get stuck into our homework. So we didn't. I quite like doing homework, I think it's the geek in me but Dude hates it especially now he's an A student. He's always concocting crazy schemes to do and I should have known that today wasn't going to be any different.




He was all fired about about getting all our friends over. Said something about 'while the cats away'. He often says stuff like that but I know he'd be gutted if something really bad happened to his watcher. Well, our watcher now I guess.




I asked him if he thought it was a good idea. Lol, the look on his face cracked me up. It's like those words are some sort of personal challenge to him.




Didn't take Dude long to get it all organised. Which surprised me. I guess I'm still getting used to all this stuff I can do now I'm a  watched sim. It's cool and a little bit overwhelming at times, if I'm honest.




'This is gonna be epic!' I told Dude.




It was strange watching everyone arriving. I kept thinking that if it hadn't been for Dude asking his watcher to take me in that I would be just like my other friends.




We all just chatted and danced and stuff for a while. Matt's got a wicked sense of humor and had us all in stitches. The girls looked really pretty too.




Matt had on his scoring suit. Well, that's what we all call it. He doesn't actually have a girl friend but you know. Least not one I know about anyway.




Dude soon started on his famous infamous gross jokes. I find them revoltingly hilarious but Kellie was pretty grossed out. Hahha, that's funny 'cos I think Dude quite likes her and was probably trying to impress her. Epic fail!




I kinda like Annabelle. But I'm a bit shy I guess, I don't really like being around strangers or large crowds so I haven't got enough nerve up to ask her out anywhere. It's stupid. I should just tell her. Maybe.




I was going to sit next to her when we all started eating but she ended up chatting to Shane. She looked so pretty in her polka dotted skirt thing but when I tried to tell her I caught Dudes eye and chickened out. He'd tease me hard-out if he finds out.




Actually, him and Cassy have this weird relationship thing going on. They both have been friends for like forever but they drive each other nuts.




I got my chance to chat to Annabelle but ended up telling her a lame joke.




The food was really great. Dude's a boss in the kitchen and knocks out the best grub. His watcher said that I could probably learn how to cook in the weekends and stuff which would be pretty cool actually.




Matt started flirting with Annabelle. That sucked. I think Kellie was jealous too which surprised me 'cos I thought she liked Dude. Matt's a great guy but likes to be the party animal which is fun... just not when he's dancing with Annabelle.




Anyway...he ended up with both the girls. *sigh* Some guys have all the luck.




I ended up chatting to the other Matt about the benefits of being a watched sim. Turns out that he'd been watched once. I didn't know that so it turned out we had quite a bit in common.




Randi and Kellie ended up hitting the gym. I haven't even had the chance to get down there yet. The watcher keeps us pretty busy most days.




Cassy decided she wanted cake for desert and Dude jumped up straight away to cook her one. He's really generous with everyone and never worries about running out of stuff or stuff breaking. He takes it all in his stride and just laughs about it all. I'm the opposite, I get all stressed and tense. I even worry about things that haven't even happened. The watcher says I've got to learn to 'let it go'.




The cake was great.




Even Cassy cracked a smile.




After everyone left we chilled out and ate the last of the cake outside. Dude loves the outdoors and heads out any chance he gets. I don't mind, doesn't bother me either way really. I asked Dude where the watcher was 'cos it wasn't like her to leave us alone for so long. He said he'd sent her on a refresher course.  I was like ... 'what?'. Then Dude just laughed. Never know if he's kidding me or not. It was a really fun party anyway and Dude reckons he'll be throwing a whole lot more. Lol. One thing about living here, it's never boring.

I love all the drama and possible romance at that party. It was nice seeing things through Derek's point of view. I feel like we got to know him better.
