All my save games are stuck loading at 99%
« on: June 29, 2015, 01:12:25 PM »
So I just recently reverted my computer to factory settings (without touching files). Now whenever I try and load any of my original save games, it gets stuck at about 99%. I left it on overnight, and it still didn't fully load. I had read all other discussions of this, and it seems for many people, the problem is that the save us corrupt, but my backup files don't work either. I tried creating a new game, and that loaded fine. Please help!!  :-[

Hi EmileeAllene,

I am not sure what to say. Although I do have a few tips to try. If you haven't tried these already.

--- Turn Off Interactive Loading Screens - Go to Options (...) Select the gear tab, which is the General Settings, at the bottom of the menu uncheck the box labelled Interactive Loading Screens

--- Delete the Game Cache Files

socialCache.package, Sims3Logs.xml, simCompositorCache.package, scriptCache.package, ompositorCache.package,  and CasPartCache.package

Also delete everything except Ccmerged.package file in the DCBackup folder. (Delete the contents of the folder, not the folder itself) -- Be sure to leave Ccmerged.package alone.

--> Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > DCBackup

--- Sims 3 Factory Reset (HowTo)

Move your Sims 3 folder to the desktop or some where safe, and rename it something like Sims 3 Current. You won't loose your files, like saved games or game options. It's all still there in the folder on your desktop or some where safe. Just don't delete anything.

Click the Sims 3 icon to create a new Sims 3 folder.

Go To: ----> My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3

If you want to continue to play your previous game-saves, go into the Sims 3 folder that you backed up and copy over your game saves, files and such over to the new game to see if that helps.

[This is different from a total-game reinstall - This just sets the game back to factory default.]

Hope this helps, :)
