Hi everyone!

I'm currently working on a challenge for sims 4  - it would ideally be posted on a future sims 4 project story board. It is a multi-generational challenge based in Newcrest, that is divided into 3 parts, each part needs to be completed before you move on to the next.

I am currently doing the write up and would be really happy if people would be willing to:
a) read through the rules and ask questions, so I know where I am being super unclear
b) playtest certain features of the game to make sure things are possible
c) give feedback on "required content" of the community lots that should be built

Here is the current version of the challenge rules: (Open office format)

I would be very interested in helping. I love multi-generational challenges, and I haven't done a thing with Newcrest yet.

Thanks for the response you guys. I will send all of you a PM with what I have so far - I have much more written down on a notepad but transferring it to digital format takes a little time as all my notes are jumbled and it takes me a while to figure out what I was thinking.

I'm willing to look it over, but probably won't get around to it until next week.

Don't worry about that. I am currently just organizing the rules and getting everything down in a document. I would really appreciate any help later though,  while play testing (especially for the first and second stage as they have the most restrictions.

I will see if I can get my working document uploaded somewhere so everyone can download it and look at it where it is formatted.

I will post a link her as soon as it it done - I will post the link in the first post, so that there is only one link at a time, and everyone can look at the same version of the document to avoid confusion.

I have added a download link with the document in the first post.

It is a very rough draft and as you can see I have not finished structuring it completely. I am off to work but will hopefully have time to do some more work on it tonight.

Please post your comments in this thread (if that is all right with the moderators?) So we can all take part in the discussion.

A question:
I was initially going to call the differents parts of the challenge stage 1 stage 2 and stage 3, but wonder if you think it would be easier if I just named them neighbourhood 1, neighbourhood 2 and neighbourhood 3 instead? Since, moving to a new neighbourhood can only be done once the first "stage" is complete.

ManiSims raised a really good point about how hard it will be to keep track of generations while not having official heirs.

I think a good work around for that would be to have paralell scoring systems. You can either count generations (if you do a standard setup of a challenge) or you could count the number of sims moved into the household, each time a sim is moved in you ad another point to the score - this way you can strive to achieve a low score even if you don't want to play with child sims. It also adds versatility to the rules, adding new ways to play the challenge.

How do you feel about this - and do we even need a scoring system?

I think the parallel scoring system would work well. You could maybe have every 10 sims moved in be equal to 1 generation in traditional family-style play.

New even more confused (if possible) document. Please ignore the highlighted areas - they are potential Q&A's

At the bottom of the document I have started to flesh out the 3 different neighborhood challenges. I have written the introduction posts for all 3 neighborhoods but only put in restrictions, rules and goals (partially) for the first neighborhood.

I have also added the names of the lots to be built.

I am a little unsure about what would be good budget requirements for the Singleton's starter and the Family Starter. I was thinking 18,000 for the singleton and 24,000 for the family. I don't want to go to the max of what CAS sims/families have when they go in game for the first time, but I do want the budget to be ample.

Another question - it will be hard to spend an exact amount on a build. Would a lower limit i.e.  between 17,500-18,000 simoleons be better ? You would still need to have the full amount before starting to build.

Though I do think an exact amount leads to some funny possibilities (17 lawn gnomes, for example) to make it work out, a lower limit probably makes more sense. :)
