Acquiring my Sims' grandson's tombstone
« on: June 24, 2015, 04:13:54 PM »
Hello, I see that this post is rather old. And this is a somewhat relevant problem that I'm having that I can't seem to find the answer to, elsewhere.

Unlike most of the problems I'm reading about, I WANT to lose some progress that I've made. The problem is this: I've saved a number of times since the point I'd like to return to. The bottom line of my issue is knowing whether or not this is possible.

The full story is this: My Sim's now adult daughter (living in another house) had a son. While he was at the "Child" age, he died. A lot of time had passed by before I said to myself, why don't I try to resurrect him in some way. I switched Active Households to my Sims' Daughter's household. I learned about going to the graveyard mausoleum and the "Manage the Dead" option. At this point, I regrettably did not have enough information to know what I was doing. What I tried to do was move a member of my Sims' household into his Daughter's put the acquired gravestone into that Sims' inventory, move that Sim back into my Sims' household and place the tombstone on my Sims' lot. That was my goal, and I did it wrong. When I went to that Sims' inventory, the tombstone disappeared. It's not anywhere on my lot, nor is it in any other Sims' inventory or lot that would make sense. Long story short, I wished to go back to the save I made once my Sims' Daughter acquired the tombstone and placed it on her lot.

If this is not possible, but there are other methods of acquiring my Sims' grandson's tombstone that I haven't attempted already, I would GREATLY appreciate the help. I've spent weeks trying to correct this problem.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Beewthegypsy,

I move your post from Fixing/Recovering Saved Game, as it doesn't seem as if your save-game is missing or corrupt.

I've never run into this problem myself. Do by any chance have an earlier game-save that you could go back to?
