Sims won't share a bed glitch?

Not sure if this should go here, but my two sims won't share a bed. They have "good friends" relationship and I'm pretty sure they have enough space but they won't do it. Is this a glitch or am I just stupid?

Can you describe the error?  What thought bubble appears (if any)?

Since this is an in game issue, I'm going to move it to the miscellaneous help board.

I haven't tried having two Sims that are friends or good friends share a bed.  It may not be possible unless they're family or have a romantic relationship.  I have had Sims share beds in both these cases.

It shows a bubble of the bed over the sim's head, and then they just wave around. I'll try to get them in a romantic relationship when I have the time.

Build a test room for the two of them on the property big enough for a double bed and add an entrance to the room.  Have them both try to sleep in that bed.  It might rule out a path glitch on the original bed.

Just to be clear do they both can't get to bed or just one can and the other just waved around? If the latter is the issue than you need to have romantic or family relationship between the sims in order for them to share a double bed.
