Thank you!! I added it to the list of bug reports I'm making note of. *Snicker*

I check that list every now and again to see if there has been any work-arounds or fixes posted.

That's great ^^  And again, thanks for the help.  It does make me feel a little better though that you couldn't find it.  I'll admit that my Google-fu (as I call it) is rather weak at times heh.  So I was frustrated that I couldn't find anything on it and why I finally broke down and made a topic on it.  So thanks again, Mrs. Flynn and everyone else who commented or asked questions.  Hopefully, something can come out of it.

You're welcome!! I'm happy I was able to help. Two heads Googling, is better than 1. ;) I'll keep an eye on that thread on answer.ea.com and report if I see anything on it. If you don't see something first and post it here. :)

So I did get a reply, though I won't be able to test anything until the next patch to give a definitive answer.  EA Barry suggested I use a wired connection rather than Wi-fi next time I need to update.  So I will try that the next patch and let ya know.

Wow, never thought of that.  But then the only equipment I run on wireless is my phone and tablet.  I don't trust Wifi for gaming (especially combat gaming where the connection stability is vital).  But worth knowing if it can be an issue with patching.

I'll definitely second that Wow!! I didn't think that would make a difference? But if you think about it, it does make sense, as a wired connection is a stronger better connection.

I'm interested to know if that works for you, so keep us posted!! :)

Yeah, definitely odd until you think about it XD  see, we've never had a problem with our wireless.  In fact, our WiFi is pretty awesome.  Hubby plays WoW on it without an issue.  I will certainly let ya know how it goes the next patch ^^

Shewolf, although not exactly the same problem, I had issues after each patch too.

Doing a clean boot solved the problem for me, might be worth a go? I haven't had the problem since.

Edited to add topic I found the solution on as it includes other ideas as well.

Shewolf have you looked through the official forum? There are quite a few people having several different issues after patching.  There are threads in both technical and bugs.

My particular issue is over zealous culling. I know there are  issues with culling but after the March patch mine is so broken I gave up even trying to play. I know there is a no culling mod available but it's just a matter of principle with me.  I try to use mods to enhance game play not fix broken games.

I couldn't find anything specific.  The problem seems to be related to using Wifi as opposed to a wired connection.  I won't be able to test this theory until the next patch though.  I mean, each patch has bugs, but this wasn't a bug so much as it seemed that files were actually missing.  According to the topic I put up on the EA forums, one of the EA folks actually answered with that bit about using a wired connection.

I tried a variety of things since it's been after the last four patches that I've had an issue.  I've tried rebooting, uninstalling, restarting, you name it, I've done it XD Because it wasn't a matter of having an issue in game.  It was a matter of not even being able to get in game.  The only thing that helped was repairing the game.

Shewolf, just to clarify my issue: I couldn't get into the game either after the patches. The repair game didn't actually work for me though.

I think it even mentioned file corruption or something similar.

The clean boot fixed it and was easy to do, I'd highly recommend it if you haven't tried it.

I have.  In fact, that was the first thing I tried.  Do you use Wifi?

Hi Shewolf,

EA_Barry Replied!! :) I'm not quite sure how to quote, but wanted to give it a try.

@Shewolf13

Wi-Fi connectivity is a lot more variable in terms of signal strength and quality compared to a wired connection which is full strength and max. quality all the time.

@MrsFlynn Thanks! I did see that,  just been crazy so haven't had a chance to reply or do much with it.  Thanks for the heads up though ^^
