Help With Sims3.com
« on: November 05, 2010, 11:55:49 PM »
Not sure if you can help me with this, but- Samoht has kindly agreed to make a CAW world for me :). He will, I assume, put it on the exchange. You need to fully register to download, right? When I tried to suppley the serial number, it told me that that it was invaild. I tried again, and again. I have no idea why it won't work. The game is new, I brought it from an EB store, and I've  never been on the site. I'm sure I didn't type it in wrong. So I don't know what to do ??? Can anybody help?

Are you using the 20 digit alpha numeric code that's on the back of the booklet included in the original box of the base game?

The five space one, which you also need to install the game? Yep, I sure am.

Ok, well, if you're positive you're going through the registration steps correctly, the only thing I can suggest is that you contact Electronic Arts through the Help system on the Sims 3 site.  When I first bought Sims 3 last July and tried to register it, I had the same problem and EA gave me a new registration code for use on the site.  I now have two codes:  one for the Sims 3 site and one to install my game.

On the Sims 3 main page (www.thesims3.com), look at the very top and to the right where it says Help.  Click that and then find where it says Email Us and click.  It will ask you to log in with your user name (email address) and password.  I'm hoping that you've been able to register on their site even though you haven't been able to register your game.  After you've logged in, it will ask you some questions about the product (Sims 3), platform (PC/Mac), and category for your question.  After you go through all of this mess, you should eventually get to where it will let you send the email.  Just explain to them that you are unable to register your game because it tells you the registration code is invalid.  They will respond to you through email in a day or so.

If you haven't been able to register on their site at all, still look at the Help section and try to search for "unable to register" and see if it will bring up something to help you.

Well, I registered at Sims3, with no code, and that's fine, but I'm trying to register now, only it told me my email is already in use! It's the same one I used for Sims3 site. Is this why?! I am really annoyed now...

It gets a little confusing when we have to type everything to each other.  So let's make sure we both understand.  I checked and sims3.com is the same as thesims3.com.  So, whatever your username is on sims3.com should work on the other one, too.  You need your user name (for me it's my email address) and your password to log into your account.  Are you able to do that at all?

Also, do you have Yahoo Instant Messenger installed on your computer?  If you do, we can chat using that instead of posting on the forum.  It might be a little quicker and easier to understand.  Send me a private message if you do have Yahoo Instant Messenger and I'll give you my user name in private.  I won't be able to do it right now because I have to get to bed soon, but I would be able to chat with you tomorrow.

No, I don't. Not allowed to. But think I know what you're saying.  I just made 2 accounts. Now I can just delete one after I get a code.

Were you able to get an email sent to them about it?
