Moving Items In A Stack
« on: June 07, 2015, 03:17:28 PM »
Having to move items, such as fruit, one at a time from my gardener sim to other household members is driving me a little nuts. Is there a trick to moving either a whole stack between sims or even a certain amount. I know that in TS3 you could move as many as you want by holding down shift etc... is there any trick like this in TS4?

I've tried the shift click, but haven't seen it work, then again,I could never get it to work in TS3 either XD So I could be doing something wrong.

It seems this is a known bug. You can find the report here so you can go add a "me too"  if you want to.

@Playalot
There's a thread on this here.

The answers given there are:
There is a tiny triangle at the top left corner of the stack.  Click it to open the stack.  From there, you can click, hold and drag as many of the individual items as you want.  Click, hold and drag the triangle itself to move the entire stack from one location to another (say, from personal inventory to the refrigerator).

Hold down shift when you click on the triangle and drag it to the Sim you want to have the item.  Then a window will appear that looks like the one to give a nooboo it's name.  Just say the number of the item you want them to have and voila!

@grimsoul That thread is about The Sims 3.

We used to be able to move a whole stack from Sim to Sim, but a patch caused it to stop working.

oops, My bad. I just did a search and saw that thread and didn't even notice it was from the Sims 3. Sorry for the mistake. :(

Edit: I felt bad about the wrong info so I done some research on this and from what I was able to find you could drag a stack of items to another sim with the base game installed. But if you install Outdoor Retreat it gets bugged and doesn't work any more.

@grimsoul, thanks for your replies. Well, that's unfortunate as I certainly don't want to uninstall Outdoor Retreat just to have my inventory working correctly again.  :(
