New Reactions to Witness A Death
« on: June 04, 2015, 08:01:50 PM »
I've had two deaths, one today and one yesterday. Both times all the household members rushed to witness the deaths. Each time I cancelled the interaction only for the sims to again rush to witness the death! It's great, finally the sims are witnessing deaths even when a) busy doing something and b) even directed to do something else. It was easy enough to stop them witnessing it, just had to cancel the witness death and then direct them to cook or swim etc a few times.

I just had a death a few hours ago, and I noticed that too. Everyone was asleep, but they all woke up to go see him die. One thing to note is that it wasn't all the sims in the household- in fact, it was his wife and daughter that didn't wake up to see him. I think this was because of distance- all the sims who went to see him were in bedrooms right next to where he died, while the others were further away. And when another sim died off lot a while later, nobody in the house went to see him. I've got two elders whose age bars have been bubbling for a few days in house right now- I'll see how the other sims react to their death.

I think a week ago or so all my Sims reacted to a family member dying, I just assumed it was because they were all on the ground floor but one came rushing in from the garden. I do love it but it can be annoying when you're trying to get those heir requirments done  ::)

I think it's changed again since the last patch (9/7/15), as I finally, finally had my elder sim die (42 days as an elder, I was thinking about dispatching her myself!) and no one else in the house came to witness her death. Her daughter only had a 3 hour sad moodlet (Mourning a Friend). Her son-in-law and granddaughter didn't have any negative moodlets at all, and they were all good friends. That was disappointing!

@hazysmith , oh that's disappointing. Let's hope it hasn't changed back to when nobody cared. I loved the fact that all the household came running to mourn.

Why must something go wrong when we get new patches/packs? No one is dying any time soon in my dynasty but it still sucks  :-\

I just did the Black Widow achievement and each time I killed off the spouse, the rest of the family would try and 'witness the death', they were all in various parts of the house for the first death, the second death I had some of my sims in the basement they didn't even get the 'witness the death' thing, the deaths all occurred on the front lawn so those in the house reacted due to proximity whereas those in the basement didn't react.

As for moodlets, I only got the moodlets on the spouse and that was 'death of a friend' and mourning whatever sim I just killed off. the rest of the family didn't give a hoot about the sim who died and unless I directed them to mourn the sim they never got a sad moodlet.
