Ahh, I see! Although I make it my policy to NEVER watch talk shows, I know what you mean. Thanks, and while were're on the topic of silly questions/bars, what is a dive bar? Judging by the BP version, it's similar to a "Local Watering Hole", but we don't have Dive bars in Aus, so what exactly are they? Thanks times 10! :)

I am trying to build a dive bar now, but I am having a little trouble making it stay true.  I make it nicer looking than what I think it should look like.  To me a dive bar is a cheap place to drink and be social.  They usually are not the neatest or cleanest establishments.  Sometimes they can be in rough neighborhoods.  Hopefully this week I can finish it up.  My daughter is also having me try to make a vampire lounge, which is even more difficult in my opinion.

Finished the dive bar.  I tried to make it kinda gritty and old.  The bar is modeled after an establishment that I used to frequent in my youth.  It is on a small lot.  Weed terrain paint and dandelions decorate the outside, but I did manage to resist the urge to put trash from buydebug by the dumpster.  :)  I haven't been to any dive bars in Bridgeport yet (haven't played it to much, lag is annoying) so I do not know if Sims behavior depends on the type of lot they are at, but when the bar opened for business it was perfect!  I had 5 Sims show up.  Out of those there were 2 couples.  They got drinks and flirted the entire visit.  It was perfect, just the behavior I would expect to see in a seedy place like that.  Enoy the pics.

Inside again zoomed out a little

I learned a very important lesson tonight.  When placing a lot with the world editor, make sure the arrow points are towards the street.  If they aren't you get a lovely view of the back of the building in your library!

I really like that, reminds me of Moe's Tavern from The Simpsons  ;D. You've captured the dark and gloomy feel while still making it look detailed and realistic. Where do the windows come from, by the way? They look fantastic against the paneling on the exterior walls.

With two perfect community gardens under your belt, you've now got a different kind of "seedy" establishment! Looks good!

I thought a dive bar was more like a pub?  Could be dark, (bars usually are), could be "seedy", could be "biker bar" style, could be have a bit of a sing along kind of pub, (I always love those!), could be a place to hook up but NEVER could be posh, elegant or such.

Edit:  OOOPS!  Forgot to say how much I like both bars and congratulations on a job well done!  Also, could we have the links please?

Here is a link to my studio page.  Both bars are on it, plus the new garden I made.  There is quite a few store items in the sports bar, just so you know.  Enjoy!

I just made a Dance Club in my Legacy game and sent Rabbit and Penelope there and they had a great time on the Bubbles!  :D The problem I found was that the Clubs looked bad in the Day light but the moment all the lights were on and coloured and there strobs were going it was pretty cool.  :)

Here they are having a good time!   ;)

Don't all real life clubs look bad at daylight?

I suppose they do, but I have never been to any clubs since I am too young.

Can't you set your lights to "always on" (or whatever it's called)?

You can. You can set them to autolight too (the lights are only on when a Sim is in the room(s)), and decide whether it's for the whole room, the whole lot or just that one light. But that's wasting virtual power, I guess. :P Though I love the lighting in Sims 3, I looked over my old Sims 2 screenshots recently and man, in comparison they sure have superb lighting in Sims 3! It looked so flat in Sims 2 but in Sims 3 it's magnificent and it makes me feel giddy every time I put light into a room and see how beautiful it is!! :D

I suppose they do, but I have never been to any clubs since I am too young.

In my area they have clubs for teens and preteens.  Minimum age is 11 maximum is 18.  No alcohol of course, no smoking, just loud music, soft drinks and dancing.  Oh, and arcade games.  They are usually supervised as well and there is a curfew which matches the city ordinances.  I've had mixed reviews on whether they are cool or lame. lol
