I like this change.  It makes things seem more natural and straightforward to me.

Same here. This will be a fun challenge.
The only thing that makes me sad is that players without 'Get to Work' can't do it.

Maybe it's too much and totally irrational to ask, but could players without GTW compete in the sense of the very first challenge we did this year?

I don't know how to allow players without GTW play this challenge.  This challenge is all about running your retail store, no GTW = no retail store.  Making money in the first challenge is very different from making money running a retail store.

You're right. I should not have mentioned it.

And just to throw in my two cents — a totally vanilla Tournament covering only the base game would be boring to you guys. There's only so much content from the base game the team can pick from. Base game stuff will always be the majority of the Tournament — making money, skilling, having babies, Satisfaction, rewards, etc ... but there has to be exclusive EP events too.

GTW is on sale at the origin store right now for anyone wanting to participate but have yet to buy it! I will let someone else include the link so that it may be linked to Carl's Guide!

Thank you MomOfMany.  There is a forum post for this sale: http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,23918.0.html

@Nutella, Just to make sure I'm clear on how to start this. After I begin the game, I go into Manage World and set a lot to retail. I buy the lot and then transfer in $10,000 before I start building on the lot. Right?

You can buy an empty lot for your store without switching it to retail first.  No need to go into manage worlds.

The lot has to be empty, right? Or can we buy an existing store unfurnished?

@MarianT
Yes it has to be empty lot, you will need to use the $10,000 funds to build/buy everything you need in the beginning.  I will specify in the ruleset about the empty lot.

@ClayMask
For me personally, I just use the phone option "buy a retail lot" - the lot will already be switched to retail without me having to do anything.

@Tixxis
Yes lot has to be empty.

Rules Modification:

No moving, except to purchase a single empty retail lot. No additional retail lots allowed.

Thanks, but I think you meant to direct this comment to MarianT?

Rules Modification:

Create two Young Adult Sims in CAS from scratch.

- Cannot use gallery downloaded sims.
- Cannot use cloned/twin gallery downloaded sims.
- Cannot use saved sims from your library.
- Cannot use saved sims clone/twin from your library.

We want players to start with fresh sims.  All the downloaded sims and saved sims might have advantages transfer over, and I included cloned/twin sims in case the hidden attributes get transfer over too.  We want everyone to start on the same level.
