To win a Prince Charming

I had a string of bad luck with technical issues with some of my old stories, so I decided that I wanted to take on a challenge that was short but sweet.

Day one


To whom it may concern,

This is a formal calling to all eligible princesses  who are willing to travel to Willow Creek. King Grigori Novak and myself are seeing a bride of worth for our son Dmitri. A dowry is not crucial to the arrangement as we are significantly well off. Our offer is as such, stay in our secondary mansion for the duration of three weeks, and if our son picks you, the land will be yours.

This letter reached royal families near and far, but only six young ladies came forward to take the opportunity. Some seeking riches, some seeking love, and most looking for the chance to gain a little freedom, a little independence from their families back at home.



Natasha knew by drawing these women here, one of them was bound to succeed, and Grigori was willing to appease his wife's demands in this regard.



Dmitri was rather oblivious to his mother's schemes, so each day the women were sent instructions, guidance for how to approach the day. Today's instructions ordered that one of the girls must make her son's acquaintance so that it would be easier to invite him over to the mansion at a later date. This individual was to do no more, and no less than that. Celina gladly accepted this task and made quick work of it before returning to the household.



The next task was to get to know each other, spend the day chatting it up





The first drama of the day occured when Arya set herself on fire trying to make burgers, the entire group of princesses were in a frenzy over it. Thankfully Sierra kept a cool head and extinguished the flames.



After both running outside the house out of panic, Celina made her first friend in Miracle




The girls had also been instructed to work on their skills, the amount of items in the mansion was overwhelming




All and all, not a bad first day!

Day two



The next day it became apparent that Miracle had a rough start to her morning, she was very down and upset



The point of joining this household wasn't to make friends, it was to win a prince. Celina hesitated at first, it was possible that it was a better option to stay low, but she couldn't turn herself away from a friend in need.



Miracle shared that one of the other girls had yelled at her for her alien state, Celina was stunned at the insensitivity.
"I don't hide my true self, I have the ability to make myself into one of you. I feel shamed, I fear the prince will agree that I don't belong here" Miracle said, sounding defeated.




"None of us know what the prince might like, he might like that you are out of this world. Don't let another person take away your chance for love. Your fear is only valid if he is not a man of worth. If he is one then he should have no issue with where you are from."

Miracle had gained a thoughtful look after her statement, she was still stung by the words of one of the others, but she seemed to take those words to heart and agreed to put her worries aside.





With that cleared up, they both returned indoors and enjoyed the company of their fellow housemates



The day was spent gaining skills, friendships, and in the case of Sierra, a nap on the bench outdoors.

Day three

They received a text from Natasha in the morning

It is time for us to meet, please be prepared for my arrival at 2pm



The best meal of the morning was scrambled eggs, so it was served to the guests. It was good quality and the Queen seemed amused by the quaintness of the dish.



She even wound down enough that she boogied with the rest of the princesses, it was a treasured moment for all of them



Later in the afternoon they sat down for tea and cake





The Queen stated simply that all the women were satisfactory contestants for her son's heart and it had been a pleasure to enjoy their company, but she had other matters to attend to so she returned to the castle



Celina made efforts to bond with Sierra after the party's success



And even had a bit of time for herself at the end of the day to play some mobile games

Day four



The morning off started off tense, most of the girls were starting to squabble, they were all impatient to make progress with the competition but there had been no notice from the Queen today



After being told "your toast and eggs taste like dirt" Celina put her foot down, she called for everyone into the living room



"We will have to live together for at least a month, it is in our interest to not to tear each other apart. So lets be clear, next person that insults my food gets to wear it."

Most of the girls seemed to take this to heart and made more of an effort to get along



When Celina went outside to throw out the trash, a gentleman came up to her and paid her a compliment.

"I knew that princesses would be living here, but I hadn't known they would be as pretty as you"



He was one of their neighbors, Geoffry Landgraab, another wealthy member of the Willow Creek community



Flattered, Celina didn't spurn his advances. She had not had a real opportunity to meet and grow to love the prince yet, so it was nice to enjoy a simple flirtation



They spoke for some time, Geoffrey let her know that if all did not work out she was welcome to come visit his family, his son Malcom would be an advantageous spouse.

She thanked him for his kindness.



When she returned to the household she took a little time for herself. It has been risky to flirt and explore her options so openly. She needed to be invested in winning if she was going to make it through this with a spouse. While she felt both enthused and cheerful about her future, she also knew it wasn't wise to jeopardize that and vowed to keep her eyes on the prize until the end of these next few weeks. She felt like the anger that she had once felt had melted away and now she was more focused than ever on finding the 'one'.

The rest of the day had passed mostly uneventfully



Except that Arya and Rylie exchanged harsh words late at night. They had both met outside of the household, to discuss while the rest were sleeping. What had first seemed like the first household alliance had turned ugly quickly.





Aloof, angry, the girls had parted on cold glares

Successfully flirted without getting caught, changed Celina's Hot-headed trait to Romantic as the reward

Day five

Greetings Princesses,

I enjoyed the pleasure of your company, and I commend you for your good efforts. I have provided mirrors so that you can look on yourselves and improve your presentation and dictation, this will be crucial to your success with my son. I suggest you all practice extensively.

The mirrors were set up when they went down for breakfast



They all threw themselves into it





Rylie got practically enthusiastic, some of the arm movements led to a few bumps



Miracle mostly acted like she was in a sports broadcast, bumping her fists up and down



Celina made many big sweeping movements, seeming to gesture towards the future, Arya used a lot of coy smiles



After most of the other girls left, Celina kept her hips moving and her fingers wagging in fake arguments and negotiations



Jade confessed to not being very confident in her abilities
Celina paid her some heartfelt compliments



With a little reassurance Jade bounced back quickly



They even grew close enough that they shared a hug
The day was uneventful otherwise, so everyone tucked in early

Day six



The girls had noticed that only a few feet away from their house there was a small park area, so Celina took the incentive to make some grilled chicken






The rest of the girls shortly joined in




It was good for them to get some fresh air, as an outdoorsy sim Miracle was particularly thrilled





Yet when everyone returned to the house, most of the girls seemed to be down. Jade was doing a sad shuffle around the living room and Miracle was dragging herself around the house.



It was a big relief when the Queen called them and invited them out to a bar



Even a shy sim like Jade enjoyed herself, they all indulged the live music and the drinks



At the end of the night, Celina pulled the queen aside and handed her her gold bracelet
"I noticed one of the band members had nicked this, so I got it back from him"



The Queen was understandably angry at the theft



But she was relieved to have her jewels returned to her and offered her thanks



She also took a moment to appreciate a gentleman's rear, which was a bit of a funny surprise



After a successful night out, the girl's returned and most of them tucked in. Arya was in such a good mood, she willing to get her hands dirty with a bit of gardening

Random event # 6 (modified to be more realistic for modern sims. The rules say not to leave the house but the girls were miserable so I bent them, I made sure none of the girls spoke to anyone but themselves and the barmaid to get drinks)

Geoffrey looks great with his makeover. Congrats to Celina for not getting caught, that's quite hard to pull off when you have freewill on xD. I love the faces they make when losing a chess match, cracks me up everytime.

Thank you he was a random choice and I was so bothered by his weird facial hair that I couldn't resist the urge to jump into create a sim and give him an update!

I've finally gotten some free time after a busy few weeks so in the next few days I'm going to be putting up all of the days I already have on my website on here, and I'm going to start playing the challenge again so new content can be expected . My blog will always be updated first because it is easier to pop the pictures on there and then copy it all over here. I also had to change day five on here because I had skipped a day! It will all be accurate shortly

Day seven



Another letter had come from the Queen, her son Dmitri is a fan of chess, so she asked that the girls practice on each other

Celina won against Sierra, they also spent enough time together to call each other friends



Jade won against Miracle






Rylie won against Arya, and boy is she a sore loser, when Rylie won she smashed her fists down on the table and knocked over the remaining pieces




Jade and Celina had an enjoyable game, Celina won but they weren't very competitive about it. They spent the game cracking jokes and laughing




Rylie was a bit timid after having played with Arya, but that didn't stop her from winning
All and all it was a quiet day, but most of the matches were good, some of the girls kept playing even after the competition was over

It's so funny to see their interactions lined up like that as they raise the charisma skill.

The prince is eager to meet you after hearing such high praise from my wife. I feel it is my duty to also have an opportunity to assess your abilities. I have arranged to have a cab pick you all up early in the afternoon and take you to your next challenge,

This message had all the girls spending most of the day staring out the windows in eager anticipation. Celina took care of her gardening duty and as soon as the other girls began squealing she ran out to catch the cab together



They arrived at an interesting location, it had just a large cooking area and an outdoor dining table



A note in the cooking room gave them guidance

Greetings ladies,

I shall be arriving in an hour, please create the best cake you can.

Some of the girls tackled the challenge with enthusiasm

Before long, the clock was up and the girls nervously presented their work to the king



"Congratulations" He boomed, "Most of the girls have met the challenge and mastered it, there is only one that is less appetizing. Who created this one?"



He happened to be looking directly at Celina, she was faced with a decision. She knew who had done a poor job, did she take the fall for her? or did she tell the truth? Or say nothing whatsoever

Finally she made her decision "Arya created that cake, sir, she chose to not use sugar"




Arya immediately began working to recover from the blemish on her reputation.

"That is true King Novak, I was trying to be innovative, next time I will be more traditional"

The king grinned at all of them, relieving the tension, "Sometimes the world needs people to push boundaries, I respect that."



They all polished off the good cakes



The rest of the afternoon was spent getting to know the king



By the end of it the King had entirely forgotten who had failed his challenge and seemed equally content with all of them



The competitors all turned in for the night after a successful venture
