Question about Sims on the Exchange
« on: November 02, 2010, 07:02:30 PM »
I had been having some trouble with my Sims 3 game since installing WA (ie, the game freezing while traveling and other strange bugs), but I recently purchased a Mac and put the game on it, and it seems to work beautifully.  My question is, if I put my selected families up on the Exchange, what comes with them?  One Sim owns almost every building and venue in town, will those be saved?  What about her vacation homes?  Also, is there any other way to transfer these families (keeping in mind it's from a PC running XP 64 bit to a Mac with Os 10.6)?

Any and all help appreciated!

If you upload your families to the Exchange, they'll keep their skill points, traits, and appearance.  I don't think anything else will go with them.

Thanks for your reply.  I can package the lot, though, right?  If I do that then her inventory, house, garden, etc. goes with her; but what about her real estate holdings and her friends?  Would they come too?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think real estate or friends will go with her.  That's specific to the game file.  I'm not even sure the inventory will go with the lot package.  The house and garden will go because they are part of the actual lot.

If you put the inventory into a chest before transferring than they should go with the lot and you can put them back into the inventory.

I know that the items stay in the family inventory, not sure about the sims personal inventory, but with the game being so finicky sometimes, it is safer to put everything in chest, like was mentioned.  I just know that family ties are broken if there are family members outside the home.  :)

Which makes sense if the family member is a CAS based character as opposed to a premade sim that may not even be in the neighborhood.
