Chapter Eighteen: Nooboos

Dear Nettie,


Dina and I are both waddling around but she manages to look bright while I grumble and complain about back aches.





Malcolm's always interrupting our chess games, picking fights with Dina. I put him straight though, you do not want to mess with a pregnant woman let alone TWO.





What is his problem with me?


I guess he wants one of his girlfriends in the house.





Oof, this nooboo needs to be born pronto.


Hmm, you're not trying to peek at my cards, are you?

Dina wanted a comfortable hospital birth and she got her wish, though it didn't go so smoothly.


Sorry, ma'am, machines broken. You'll have to make your way to the room across the corridor.





Have you people been trained properly?


Yes, yes, just this is a tricky machine. Has a mind of its own. *nervous laughter*


Urgh. Where's Zahra Hollingsworth when you need her?





*groggy* Ish tha ma hearth?





Everything worked out in the end and little Eugene responded to Dina's crying with coos and gurgles.





Aw, nooboo.

Johnny got in some Daddy practice, leaving the rest of us tapping our feet in impatience.





Home birth or hospital delivery?





Definitely home birth. Worst experience ever, some woman tried to take Eugene from me.





Aw, I'm glad you're both all right.





It's my turn now. I'm dreading going through it on my own.

Chapter Nineteen: Growing Up

Dear Nettie,


Dina and I are back in shape after shedding most of our baby weight.






I told Johnny one day he'd find someone he'd love more than me and I'm right. There isn't a moment that passes when he isn't cuddling Cordelia.






She laughs at the silly voice he puts on and rocks her from side to side.





His lullabies send her to sleep and he changes her nappy without complaint. Someone has already got her Dad wrapped around her tiny finger!






Johnny's working from home too now, perfecting serums so he has other tasks to fulfil whilst at work.





Mal's heart is in the right place but I think babies in general do not like him.


Oi, put her down!


Spoilsport.





Mum told me Gavin used to change me all the time but I don't remember that obviously. Seems he isn't so keen to do it this time.





We didn't have a door leading to the nursery before the nooboos arrival so Mal used to stamp his feet a lot in an attempt to get at the dollhouse. I've learnt from the past to now keep it stored in the basement, that doesn't stop him from wondering into the nursery with intent to criticise the selection of toys and décor.





Johnny got in more hugs than I did. It's only right he spends as much time as possible with her before the inevitable occurs.





Time to grow up, baby.

Chapter Twenty: Cora or Delia?

Hi~


I can't come to a decision regarding my name, do I want to be a Cora or a Delia? What is so difficult about typing Cordelia, anyway?


I had a little help from Mum with my outfits, the colour choice is all mine though. I said hello to Eugene, the other kid I never got to see until this moment.





We were given lots of birthday presents from the adults - every one of them turned out to be potions. This is their way of getting us to complete all childhood aspirations. To really motivate me and Genie, they also built a playroom in the basement and locked us in. So unfair.






Wait until I meet my Dad, he's going to give me tons of toys and pocket money.


Lucky!





I don't think I like Mal much after what Genie told me he does:


I get to have loads of girlfriends and none of them can move in, ha.





That's nothing to brag about, those poor girls.


You know some of them might be your sisters?


No, Daddy wouldn't do that.





I asked Mummy about that and she said he most certainly didn't do anything of the sort or she'd have pummelled him. (She looks really funny when she's angry.)


I don't know where I learned words and numbers from, or reading and writing to be honest but we completed our homework and started on our creativity skill. I had to stop Genie destroying the dollhouse, we played dragons and princesses instead. (I bet he won't admit that to his school friends when we get some.)






Next we painted. Well, I did. Genie liked sprinkling glitter everywhere and colouring in with both hands. I drew a pretty boat floating in the water, like the one seen from the front side of the house. (Is it called a jetty or pier?)






Look at My Little Horsie, she's all pastel coloured. She doesn't have wings but I can make her fly.





Genie got smacked in the face by his alien.


How do you even know those rude words?


Mal taught me, hee hee.





I don't really like music but needs must, right?





Genie has no problems, he's already way ahead of me. It sucks being a perfectionist.





I know it isn't very exciting but hopefully you found something you liked.
