Chapter Twenty-Five: Goodbye Primary School
Hi~
Sorry, I couldn't think of a different title! I seriously can't believe this is the last day at primary school. Genie and I were up bright and early for some reason and we were waiting for the school bus by seven-thirty.
What are you going to miss the most?Pushing girls in the mud.
Eh, you're as mean as ever. Here we go, I'm scared about moving to Big School but don't let anyone know that or I might get bullied.
The End Of Year assembly was amazing, all the classes got to perform and our class dressed up like 70s pop stars and sang songs that are older than my Mum! My form teacher gave us small gifts (mostly dictionaries we'd find useful in Big School) and some equipment and school vouchers for the poorer kids.
We had to write about our experience in school over the summer holiday and send it to our form teacher so she could mount it on her wall for her new students to see.
Uncle Mal has been pretty busy so there are loads of kids to invite over, mainly the SKLs and Holleys.
Genie and I went to visit his Dad and Summer. They have a tiny home so things got a bit cramped when the Holiday and Lee kids were born.
Has Dina bought your uniform yet?
No, I have to wait to age up so I can get measured.Summer and I did our best impression of Mum fighting with Eliza.
I hear you're starting secondary school, Cora? Ashley Lee sits beside me with a friendly smile.
Yeah. Are you going to be there?
Nah, Darlene's the only one of us left at school now.Summer agreed to take us to the park after calling Mum to make sure that was OK. Aiden Goth was hogging the pirate ship cannons and laughing mischievously as he splattered passers-by with rotten eggs. Don’t ask where he was hiding those eggs in the first place.
Hey look, there's my Dad. He's all slumped and old now.Gracelyn SKL is the only sane one in her family, we talked long enough to become good friends - I'm going to need a lot as per Mum's dynasty rules.
I made it home in time for Mum and Dina's birthday. They don't look old and worn out like some elders around town.
Dina can still boogie around like it's 1999 or something.
And Mum says there's no way she's ever going to stop going on her space missions.
See you next time when I'm having a birthday of my own!
Love from Cordelia.
