What size is your folder?
« on: May 01, 2015, 12:55:52 PM »
I'm just curious as to see what size is everyone's Sims 3 folder. If so inclined, feel free to give a few reasons as to why.

Mine is 41.1 GB

Mine (the game I am currently playing) is 9.58Gigs.

You must have a LOT of custom content to get that big!

I had some issues with some CC and have cut back a LONG way, still have some Store stuff and some merged package files of CC I can't do without (like Around The Sims goodies, for instance). I do prune savegames, because I save rather often, because of said issues, and nnot having too many seems to help with loading times. I also get rid of the Featured Items folder, because I never use it.

Keeping old saves in the folder also can contribute to large folder sizes...I have two active folders at ~26GB and ~11GB, and I keep a lot of saves in the first one.

Yeah I needed to clean out old save files. I'll check it tonight to see what size it is.

Never cleaned out any old saves, so this is with all those, my expansions and store content (no third party CC at all): 34.7 GB!

I'd clear the old data, but... sometimes I want to go back and actually grab those Sims, at that stage of their lives, or when they lived in that house for whatever reason. :D

I do recall one Sim who I played so badly (as in morally - he did bad things and messed up people's lives) that I couldn't stand to play him anymore, so he's gone.

I probably can afford to do some culling, however.

Absolutely huge. I'll have to properly check later since I'm on a different hard drive than the one my game is installed in, but from this drive I can tell it's extremely large.

hard to answer because it depends on the saves you keep or not it s quick to grow to 5Go or 10Go more...

my mod folder is 12Go (my sims3 folder in documents is 25Go)
But i have to add then the game repertory itself which is split (quick counting like 30Go around)

So 55Go around not including any backup

Mine is only 25.2 GB, but that's because I have most of my saves archived on an outside hard drive. My husband calls me a digital file hoarder.  ;D

Mine is 27.4 GB with only 1 GB of that as saves of recent games. I store older saves on a different Drive.
