Work counts as a social event

My sim has the Party Animal aspiration and one of the things to do is earn a silver on 3 social events. After working as a doctor for a day he got credit for one of the required silvers social events, two more days of working got him the required 3 silver social events. :)
Makes me wonder if going to work counts towards any other aspirations.

Other than ones that require a certain number of promotions or job level, I don't think so.  To me it seems like a mistake that they count towards party animal.

By the way on level 10 scientist you actually have to participate an Alien party in sixam to complete work goals.

Hmm..it must be random as my sim has maxed science career +4 and he hasn't had that work goal yet.

Yes it is random, I only discovered this once I join after i was bored staring at my empty house while my sim passively working. You might need to have the Alien Wormhole Generator upgraded first before it can trigger.

My sim has everything fully upgraded and has for some time. My guess is that not every game will generate this requirement.

Yeah I guess it just random, sometimes you get different scenario at play. Like the alien infiltrating the workplace or a question of moral decision.

I've just had this event as well. I've played a scientist a few times but never had the opportunity before. Made me giggle, there were aliens playing the guitar, the violin, loads of them dancing.

Pre warning before you go though, there are no toilets on Simaxin (?) so my poor simmie was desperate for ages and refused to do anything.... Until she peed herself. Then stunk the rest of the party. Ha ha.

One thing that annoyed me, she kept getting the angry moodlet from discovering aliens... Well duh, you are on an alien planet, what did you expect?!  ;D
