Sprites interacting with other sprites

My sprite wants to interact with another of its own kind. How do I arrange for this to happen? I've tried various things, but no luck so far.

I've always been able to satisfy that wish by having my sim use the social sprite chat (or something like that - I forget the exact wording but I believe it's either on the first pie menu or under "friendly") with a sim in Oasis Landing that they are friends with.  They can also do it in the home world, if you have traveled home with more than one sprite and given one to someone else in your household.  Having sims make their sprites interact is a great way to build the advanced technology skill.
