Items possible for Cloning machine. Spoilers alert!

Greetings guys Im back from a somewhat long break from the site.

Anyway I got the "Get to work" expansion, and doing Scientist career, and stumbled across this invention called "Cloning machine" I checked the forum, and didn't see any similar for this exact topic

I noticed that not all items could be cloned, and i had points enough to buy the "young again" potion. I got curious as to see if it would clone those rewards, and lo and behold. YES! The "sleep refill" and age reset potion can be cloned. Counting out the "mistakes" once awhile, which is a very small price to pay.

So enjoy your eternal (sim)life!

Anyone else got some items that you dont usually think would be clonable?

Insects can be cloned, which is good if you want to try making impeccable herbal remedies since some rarer insects are hard to find. Meal could also be cloned and if your chef happen to complete the aspiration, all the food will have no cool down either. It can also copies all garden fruits, flowers, vegetables and herbs if you really hate to garden. All small decorative things can also be copied i guess, as long as it can fit the slot on cloning machine.

It's also possible to clone the potions you make from the science career.

If you set up a bunch of cloning machines (about 3 or 4) you can make a decent amount of money cloning age away potions. Or you can just keep a stash of potions to clone if you ever need them, which can save you some time.

@WickedSimmer87  Wow. I didn't even think of it. Good on you for making sure we're all aware the potions can be cloned. It seems like anything that can be sat on the floor that takes up only one square or is meant to be used as an ingredient should be cloneable. Scientist in general is super rewarding compared to anything else in the EP, but I guess that's to be expected what with all the gadgetry and serums.

@Carl Well sometimes pays out being curious  Although cloning the age reset potion feels rather cheaty. So I'm sure that Maxis will patch it out at some point, so we have to enjoy it as long as we can

They could also be upgraded to clone sims by the way. The cloned sims copies all of the real sims trait including the reward traits bought from aspirations but not the ones rewarded by completing aspirations.

But how do you get acknowledged for fulfilling a cloning task at the science plant? My sims has cloned and cloned but it doesn't seem to get him any further. The task asked and achieved still won't get 'yellow'=fulfilled?

Most collectibles accept elements are clone-able, but there are a few that I haven't tested. I would guess that microscope/space prints are probably not. I wouldn't bet on postcards.

@mettedite sounds like a game bug. I'd delete the cache files and then see what happens . You can also repair the game if you are still having problems.
