Maybe its the marketable trait i have?  I remember when I first started playing the game the books only show $0, so when I made my museum list I did not include books.  Then as I was playing J.K., suddenly I saw value on the books and it was quite high, so I switch my museum list to use the books.

Try buying marketable and write a book, see if that one shows any value.  I'm not sure what else I did different to show book value.

@LenaLJ
I don't have any mods at all, so I'm not sure what I did to get values on book.

Did you publish them and buy them again? Because I did not.

No none of these were publish.  I don't know how to buy back book once you publish them, its gone.  These were written and put aside, brand new non-publish.
I publish the excellent books (less value) for my author aspiration.

Even my excellent books have value, ranging from $100-500.  Book of life is showing up as $68 average.

Way too close indeed!  I had a chuckle over her playing the violin while Venkat died!

Loving your Dynasty so far.  I actually prefer reading the more practical stories, where you just tell the black and white aspects of the story because I enjoy seeing how everyone plays.  :o

I do have a question, as I've just started a Dynasty.  When a sim completes all the requirements and eats the ambrosia, do they then have to eat it again and again to stay immortal or just once?

@SingleMomSim

Yes, they have to eat ambrosia again and again to stay alive.  I have tons of angelfish sitting there waiting, and a deathflower plant.  As soon as one of my immortal elder get the popup - telling me death is near, I will take an angelfish, pick deathflower, buy potion of youth and cook ambrosia, then eat it.  You don't want to wait too long, because if one of your immortal dies, the dynasty fails.

The ambrosia will reset the age back to the front of "Elder" stage.

Yes, not stopping.  I already have another idea to start another dynasty, I'm itching.  Will try to finish this first of course.

DAY 118  (Sherlock)

Did I really fall asleep standing up?  Wow impressive, that takes some skill.

Everyone drags me to the mall, telling me I need this I need that.  I'm a guy, just a plain shirt and pants will do, thank you.

DAY 119  (Sherlock)

I wasted $5000 today on landscaping, then wasted more money building a shack for myself with 30 windows.

Later that night I tried to beautify the house with 20 columns.  After finishing my Mansion Baron aspiration, I spent all my time flying in the rocketship.

Great grandmama Mata was super angry with me for wasting money.  She took me by my ears and drag me to a woodworking table, says I am too bored and needed a hobby.

DAY 126  (Sherlock)

I spent all my free time on the woodworking table, maxed my handiness skill in no time.  To celebrate, I took a trip to Granite Falls and met a giant camping mascot.  Can i take this home?

I came home from my trip and found a woman named Janet waiting for me, one of great grandmama Mata's co-worker.

Wait, 2 more show up.  Why so many females?  Oh, my birthday is approaching, all my grandmamas are doing spouse shopping for me.

DAY 127  (Margarita)

Headache.  Why am I not happy even after I maxed my career?  Sigh, the thought of making six friends is giving me this headache.

DAY 131  (Sherlock)

Blonde, Brunette, or Redhead?  Redhead for sure.

That's good, 4 days till elder, plenty of time to get Janet pregnant.

After some intense woohoo action, I realized we are not a good match.  She is evil, I'm good.  This shows how observant I am, I'll probably make a lousy detective.  It's the red hair, I blame the red hair for distracting me.

She's praying hard for negative test result on her pregnancy test.  No such luck, I'm too fertile for my own good.

DAY 132  (Sherlock)

First day of work.  Great grandmama Monalisa painted some focused paintings for me to take to work, and mama gave me many focused potions.  Everyone is excited about this new career Detective.

DAY 133  (Sherlock Han)

Two days of work and I am going nowhere in my career.  I tried arresting this woman many times, she keeps eluding me and won't go back to the station with me.  When I finally got her arrested and took her back to station, the interrogation desk won't work - I can't interrogate her.  I can't solve the case, I can't move on to a new case, I can't get promoted.  Ridiculous.

I've had it with this career, I'm quitting.  Take a good last look at this uniform, I'm gonna burn it.

Have to change my name, Sherlock just doesn't suit me anymore.  Bill Gates? Neil Armstrong? Han Solo?  Han Solo won, I love Star Wars.

Joined astronaut and had to level fitness.  I'm behind in skill levels, good thing I have 2 days off before my next workday.

DAY 134  (Han)

Janet is not happy about the baby, agreed to let me name her or him.  She wants nothing to do with our child, she's evil.

Boy!  I almost picked Neil Armstrong's name earlier, so this is going to be for my child.

Laughed out loud at the "It's the red hair, I blame the red hair for distracting me part." Intentional or not, the story part of this dynasty is super amusing to read. :)
