Kayla's POV

"Why are you being like this?!" Adam asked.

"Being like what?!" I yelled.

"Like this?! You aren't acting like yourself!"

"Maybe I am!"

"What's that suppose to mean?!"

"Maybe, just maybe, I'm changing."

"Oh cut the crap!"

I looked at him.

"I'll ask you again, why are you being like this?"

"Because I'm scared okay?! There, I said it. I'm scared!"

"Scared of what?"

I opened my mouth and closed it.

"You can tell me."

"I'm scared because of mom and dad."

"What about them? They are okay with us dating."

"That's not what I'm talking about!"

"Okay."

"They are going to die soon." I whispered as my voice shook.

He looked at me.

"They're going to die and leave us. I'm scared and I'm not ready."

"Honey, no one is ever ready for their parents, or any loved one, to die."

I choked back the lump in my throat, "What about you?"

"What about me?"

"Are you... Are you going to leave me too?"

"What?! No! Kayla! I made you a promise, don't you remember?!" He said grabbing my left hand and pointing to my ring.

"Yeah but promises can be broken!"

"Hey, stop this. I love you, with every fiber of my being I love you. I will always love you and I simply cannot wait until the day I see you walk down the isle, or wherever we get married, in that beautiful dress."

I covered my face, "I'm being so stupid."

"No you aren't." He said giving me a kiss.

...

"We're doing everyone's cake in an hour!" Mom yelled down the stairs.

"Okay!" I shouted.

"We should go up." Adam said.

"Yeah I suppose."

"We can watch more movies in the amazing home movie theater any day."

I smiled as we headed upstairs to celebrate everyone's birthdays.

We were all officially young adults. Out of high school and thrown into the real world. I just hoped that the real world wouldn't throw things at us too hard.

A Few Weeks Later...

"I don't know what I would do without you these past few weeks." I said caressing Adam's cheek.

"I'm glad we were able to get out of the house."

"I know it' been hard, with no alone time. But since mom and dad fell ill after our birthdays it's been taking a lot of time."

"I know."

"The home nurse said we may not have much longer with them." I said getting sad.

"Hey, let's not focus on that."

He nibbled at my neck and I giggled.

"Adam, this place is beautiful."

"I know, I'm glad you like it."

"Why are we here?" I asked.

"I just thought a nice walk would be nice."

"It is."

"I also, I- Um- I have something I want to ask you." He said getting nervous.

"What's that?"

I gasped as he fell to one knee.

"I want to ask you if you'll let me keep my promise to you. I would like to fulfill my promise of making you my beautiful wife. You have made me the happiest man alive. I could've moved states away with my aunt, but instead you asked your parents to take me in. I'm thankful that they did because if not we may not be here right now."

"Adam.."

"So, what do you say?"

"YES! A THOUSAND TIMES YES!"

"Adam!"

He blushed.

"We are really getting married!"

They're engaged!

In other sad news, prepare yourself, there's a good chance next update will be Rachel and Ethan's passing :-[ :'( :-\

Let me know what you think!

Great update, Ally! I've been looking forward to this for a few days, now! Finally! (Grrrrrrr....)

I just want to make sure I was clear when I was trying to compliment you. I wasn't criticizing Kayla's bad grammar. I was impressed by it. It made the dialogue more realistic. If you did it on purpose, good for you. If you did it on accident, it just highlights that some of this writing stuff comes to you naturally, in which case you should keep working on your writing, not just on this forum, because you have a real talent.

I actually didn't mean to do it! Sometimes I'm poor at grammar!

Bentley's POV

"I don't understand the problem." I told Amber.

She looked at me like I was crazy.

"She has blue hair Bentley! Blue hair!"

"And you have brown hair, I'm glad we know our colors!" I snapped.

"You know what I mean."

"I'm afraid I don't." I said crossing my arms over my chest.

If you want to know what this little argument is about then let me fill you in. I met this girl a few weeks ago, her name is Rylie (pronounced Riley, just spelt different.) Not to sound cheesy, but I knew from the moment I met her at the park I wanted to be with her the rest of my life. She was absolutely beautiful inside and out. She had these bright green eyes and yes, she did have blue hair.

"What are we talking about?" Kayla asked walking in with Adam.

"Rylie." Amber told her.

"Oh." She said disapprovingly.

I threw my hands up.

"So, because she has blue hair I'm not allowed to be happy?!"

"It's not just the blue hair!"

"Why are we getting on him about her hair? If I had blue hair does that mean you wouldn't love me?" Adam asked Kayla.

My eyes bugged out of my head as I motioned towards Adam because finally someone understood me.

"She has tattoos, all over her arms. I'm sorry but it's not attractive." Amber said.

"So, having tattoos and blue hair makes her less of a person?" Adam asked.

"Your fiance is really smart Kayla, you guys should take notes." I snapped.

"I think her attitude is starting to rub off on you." Kayla snapped back.

"Oh, now she has an attitude, great."

I walked out of the room, they didn't understand. Yes, she had blue hair and tattoos on both arms. Yes, there are times when Rylie can have a bit of an attitude (PLEASE don't tell her I said that.) But what they didn't see was that when she laughs, and I mean really laughs, she snorts. What they didn't see is the excitement she feels when her favorite show comes on. What they don't see is the little burn behind her ear she got from the first time she used her moms hair straightener. What they don't see is when she's angry her eyes get a darker green, and she's fierce and passionate about when she's angry. I can sit here and make a list of that they don't see, what they refuse to see.

"Bentley we are just trying to look after you." Amber said walking in the room with Kayla and Adam.

"There's a reason I didn't introduce you guys to her for weeks you know." I told them.

They looked confused.

"I knew that her appearance would stop you from getting to know her like I have."

"You talk like you guys are dating, are you?" Kayla asked.

"No, we are still getting to know each other." I told them.

"Guys, I think what Bentley wants and what he's trying to get at is that he wants you guys to give her a chance."

"Can we give her a makeover, and maybe some clothes that don't involve a dog collar with spikes and belts that go around her legs?"

"GOD! You guys are so judgmental! It's like I'm seeing a brand new side of you! It's a very ugly side and I sure hope it changes if I ever decide to bring her over."

With that I left the room.

...

"Coming!" I yelled.

I opened up the door.

"Rylie!"

"I'm not hiding anymore." She said flat out, her arms folded over her stomach.

"You don't have too." I told her.

"So your sisters will take me for what I am?"

"I don't care what they think, not anymore. I saw a side of them I never thought I'd see."

"Let's go downstairs." She said.

A Few Hours Later...

"You cheated!"

"I cheated?!" She asked shocked.

"Yes!"

"Okay, rematch pretty boy."

"So, you think I'm pretty."

She rolled her eyes.

"No seriously."

"Just put your hands on the levers pretty boy."

I smiled as I looked at her.

"This was fun, but I have to head home now." Rylie said.

"Okay, well I'll call you tomorrow."

She smiled and gave me a kiss on the cheek, my eyes widened as she turned around and left.

Amber's POV

"Look at them." I said to Kayla.

I smiled as we watched our parents snuggle and kiss on the couch.

"What are we doing?" I asked out of no where.

"What do you mean?" Kayla asked.

"Who are we to deny Bentley happiness?" I asked.

Kayla sighed, "Maybe you're right, we were too harsh."

"I'm ashamed of myself. Shouldn't Bentley get a shot at that? To sit on a couch years from now in his lovers arms?"

"He does..."

...

Bentley's POV

"You call those dance moves?!" Rylie asked.

"Yeah!"

I tried impressing her with more moves.

"Oh god stop!" She laughed, which turned into snorting.

"What?"

"You're too much!"

"I thought you'd like my flailing around!"

She snorted more.

"Bentley?" Amber asked walking down the stair.

"Oh boy." Rylie whispered as she stepped aside.

"Can we talk?" Amber asked.

"I guess."

"Kayla and I were talking, and we feel so ashamed by our behavior." She started.

"It was pretty bad."

"Rylie," Amber said addressing her, my breath hitched, "My sister and I want to apologize. I don't know if or how much Bentley told you of what we said but we are so sorry. We were way to quick to judge you based on your appearance and that is not how we were raised. It's just, at school we saw girls that were dressed the way you are. They were into drugs and listened to horrible music with offensive lyrics. They gave off this 'I don't care' attitude and shut everyone out."

"I'm not like that." Rylie chirped in.

"I know, we know that now. You see, it may be only by a few minutes but Bentley is our younger brother. So I'm blaming our poor behavior on being defensive and guarding him. I don't want him to be hurt, but I also don't want him to be miserable. I know you guys are just friends right now but he cares for you. So, what I'm saying is that if she makes you happy Bentley then you have our blessing and support." Amber finished.

"Thank you sis." I said hugging her.

Talk about having a sudden burst of creativeness and ideas! I was not expecting to get an update before Rachel and Ethan passed! I hope you guys liked it! Thanks for taking the time to read my story! =]

Kayla's POV

"Bentley, you need to come home." I said into the phone.

"Kayla we are in the middle of something, can it wait?" He asked.

I looked at Amber with tears running down my face.

"No. Bentley it can't wait."

...

I could tell by the look on Bentley's face that he knew right away what happened.

"Wha- What's going on?"

"Bentley-"

"No. No!"

"Bentley-"

"I wasn't home?!"

He broke in two seconds and collapsed on the ground in a puddle of tears. Amber and I rushed over to him and hugged him, all while hugging each other. We were all we had now, just the three of us.

I went to go wake them up from their naps, but they wouldn't wake up. We called the ambulance but they were gone long before they arrived. It all happened so fast that there was no time to call Bentley. I was thankful for that in some ways, he was the youngest and didn't need to see mom and dad like that. I was glad Amber was here with me because even I didn't want to see them like that. Truth be told I was scared out of my mind and I hoped I never had to witness death again.

"I wasn't able to say goodbye and that I loved them." He cried.

"They knew! Oh Bentley, they knew we all loved them." Amber said brushing away some of his tears.

A Few Days Later

Mom and dad didn't have many friends, just a few colleges from work. It was a small ceremony held at the local church, mom and dad would've liked it. I took my earrings off and placed them in a small dish by the sink, I felt a hand brush across my shoulders and looked over at Adam.

"Hey." I whispered.

He kissed me on the forehead.

"How are you holding up?"

I shrugged my shoulders, "Numb."

He nodded.

"They won't be here to see us get married." I said, the tears starting to spill once again.

He hugged me.

...

Bentley's POV

"I'm sorry I've been avoiding you." I told Rylie.

"It's okay." She said.

"No, it's not. I should tell you why."

She looked at me.

"My parents died, the day we went for that walk around the lake."

"Oh Bentley!"

"Let's go somewhere, please."

"Of course." She said.

So we walked, and we walked, until we found this place with a maze in the back.

"This is so cool!" She said.

"Should we be here? It looks like a museum of some sort that's closed." I said.

"Relax! The cops are focused on the latest murder anyway."

"Murder?"

"I'm just making it up so you'll relax."

I smiled.

"Bentley, I am sorry by the way, about your parents." She said hugging me.

"Thank you." I said.

I scared myself with what I did next.

I pulled away and her eyes were open wide.

"I'm sorry! I don't know why I did that!" I gasped.

"No, no. Don't be."

She smiled.

"Well, I probably should get home." I said scratching the back of my head.

"Yeah."

I smiled as she looked at me.

"One more kiss?" She asked.

"So it wasn't too much?"

"No."

It is what's on the inside that counts and not the outer appearance. Though I can't say I would get a tattoo myself. While still under my mom's wing, I'm not allowed. When I was old enough to decide for myself..I still can't coz it was not seemly for a teacher to have tattoos. The opportunity to be wild and get tattoos have passed me by. :D

"Let's get married." I said.

"We are silly." Adam laughed.

"No, now."

"What? Right now?"

"Yeah, I don't want to wait any longer."

"Honey it's been a month since your parents passed away, give yourself a little more time to process that."

"No! I know they're gone! They would want me to be happy! So why are we waiting?!"

"You don't even have a dress!"

"I do, I found one last week."

I looked at him.

"Okay."

...

"This place is beautiful." I said.

"I thought you'd like it." Adam said.

I smiled.

"You look absolutely stunning, and that dress is simply beautiful on you."

I blushed, "Thank you."

"I never thought I'd be lucky enough to meet someone to love. I watched all these couples walk the halls holding hands, kissing. I accepted the fact that I'd be alone forever, until I met you. I first saw you in math class, you were working on some problem and getting frustrated. Your forehead would scrunch up and your nose would flare and it was the cutest thing. I knew then that I would never be truly happy until I married you, until this day and this moment happened." Adam said.

He slipped my ring on my finger smiling like an idiot, but he was going to be my idiot soon.

I took a breath, "I was only a child the day that my brother left home. He didn't say goodbye, he didn't say anything. I swore that day that I'd never allow myself to feel that kind of pain again, the pain of someone important walking out of my life as easily as he did. It hurt, I tried to ignore it and move on. Then he came back and I shut him out because I felt if I let him in that he'd leave me again. And sure enough, he did. But this time, it- it was permanently and because I was selfish I will never see him again and tell him I'm sorry. It was that day that I allowed myself to open up to the idea of loving someone, loving you. I promise to love you and not push you away no matter how tough things get."

I slipped his ring on his finger as he wiped tears from my eyes.

"I think this is the part where we kiss to make it official." He whispered.

"You don't have to tell me twice." I said smashing my lips to his.

"Congratulations, we are married." I giggled.

...

"I wish I could've been there." Bentley said.

"I know, but we wanted to be just the two of us." I told him.

"I understand."

"Now it's time for babies!" He said.

I laughed, "It may not be right away, we will see."

He nodded.

"Hey, maybe I'll have triplets!" I laughed.

"Oh boy."

Adam and I spent the entire night together just enjoying being married and playing games in our new game room in the basement.

Congratulations to Kayla and Adam! Short update, but want to keep up with where I am in the game! Let me know what you think! =]

A Few Months Later...

Bentley's POV

"I wish we could tell them." I sighed.

"We will, just not now." Rylie said.

"Why can't we just tell them?"

"There's a lot going on right now, they wouldn't understand."

"How do you know?"

"Because! Look how they took the news of us even hanging out!" She said.

She had a point.

"Look, it doesn't matter if they know. It doesn't change anything. All that matters is that we know." She said.

"You're right."

"Ooo, you should say that more often."

I laughed.

Kayla's POV

"ADAM!"

He rushed in the bedroom almost tripping on the pair of jeans that lay on the ground.

"WHAT?! What's wrong?!"

I turned around holding a white stick and tears streaming down my face.

"It's positive!"

"Wha-"

"WE'RE HAVING A BABY!" I screamed.

"Oh my god!"

I jumped in his arms and he held onto me tightly.

"I knew it would happen! I just knew it!"

I laughed and cried at the same time.

We had been trying for weeks, but each pregnancy test came up negative. Then I began to be sick every morning and I knew something other then bad food was the reason.

"What's going on?" Amber asked walking in.

"I'm pregnant!" I told her.

"Oh my! That's great!"

She ran over and hugged me, I could tell that she was happy but she was also sad at the same time. I walked over to the bed and sat down next to Adam. I looked at Amber who brushed a tear that was rolling down her cheek away, she was still struggling with the loss of mom and dad. Not that we all weren't, she was just taking it the hardest of all.

...

"Okay! You can come out!" I said.

We stood next to Rylie, who agreed that it was okay if we give her a bit of a makeover. We approached the idea carefully though because we didn't want to make it seem like we still thought badly of her. We added some extensions to her hair and gave her a brand new wardrobe. Bentley walked out of the backyard and into the side yard.

"Wow." He said.

He bit his bottom lip.

"What do you think?" Rylie asked.

"You look pretty." He said.

"You don't like it?" She asked.

"No, no I do it's just-"

"Just what?" I asked.

He sighed, "I fell in love with Rylie the way she was. I fell in love with the short and spiky blue hair, I fell in love with the purple top that brought out the blue hair somehow. I fell in love with the black shorts that accented her long legs covered by the fish net tights. Most importantly I fell in love with the girl behind the clothes, and in case you guys can't tell she isn't comfortable like this. Sure, she's beautiful. She'd be beautiful no matter what you put her in but she's not my Rylie, not like this."

"Wow." Amber, Rylie, and I said all at once.

Who knew my brother was quite the romantic?

So we put Rylie back together again, just as she was.

...

"You must be hungry if you are eating a ton of hamburgers." Adam said.

"Ha ha, very funny! I'm eating for two now, however they aren't all for me. I just want to make sure there is plenty of food in the house." I told him.

It didn't take long for me to get a bump, and what a cute little bump it was. I just hoped that it contained only one baby and not three, not that I wouldn't love them it would just be overwhelming. To this day I still cannot figure out how mom and dad handled having three babies at one time.

"Amber?" I asked walking into the kitchen.

She turned around.

"Hey." She said.

"How are you?" I asked.

"Okay."

I half smiled.

"You are happy right? About becoming an aunt?" I asked hesitantly.

"Of course! Kayla! Of course I am!" She said pulling my in a hug.

This will probably be the last update for you guys tonight! What's with the secrecy between Rylie and Bentley??? What could be going on there? Hmmm....

Bentley's POV

"We really need to tell them." Rylie said.

"I know." I sighed.

"Hey, it'll be okay." She said.

"I'm glad you think so."

"They've changed."

"They'll think we are lying."

"So what?"

"I just don't think right now is the best idea."

"OW!"

"Sorry."

"It's fine, just a really sore spot."

...

Kayla's POV

"Feel that?"

"Oh wow!"

I giggled as the baby kicked at Adam's hand.

"He or she knows you already." I told him.

"Your feet still hurting?" Adam asked.

"Yeah."

"Want me to work out the knots?"

"I thought you only knew how to do hand massages?"

"It can't be too different."

He led me downstairs.

"Ow! OW!"

"Sorry!"

"OUCH!"

"Okay, so maybe this isn't a good idea." Adam said stopping.

"No, please keep going."

"I'm hurting you!"

"Practice makes perfect."

"I've got another idea." He said standing up.

He grabbed my left hand and kissed my ring.

"This is such a beautiful ring." He said.

I smiled, "It is, you did a good job picking it out."

He smiled before giving me one of his famous hand massages.

...

"I swear, I don't know what's worse. The back aches or the constant hunger for ice cream." I told Rylie.

She giggled, "I don't see how you can have too much ice cream."

"Oh believe me, I'm beginning to wonder if this kid is going to come out eating an ice cream cone!"

"Not THAT would be hilarious!"

"I can become famous for being the first mom to give birth to a baby eating ice cream!"

"Yeah! We can build a mansion on our own island."

"That would be the life."

I got up and walked into the kitchen and put my bowl in the sink, I was walking passed the mirror when I caught a glimpse of myself from the side. My eyes went wide as I noticed just how big I really was.

"Kayla?"

I hadn't noticed that I was crying until Adam came over and wiped a tear away.

"I'm a whale!"

"What! You are not a whale!"

"Oh come on! You have to be blind to not see me coming a mile away!"

"Honey, you are absolutely beautiful."

"I'm a fat whale."

"Look, I know whatever I say won't make you feel better. I just want to remind you that I love you no matter how you look, it's what's in the inside that counts."

"I knew there was a reason I married you." I half smiled.

...

"Ouch!"

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

I took a few steps and almost fell, I grasped onto the railing and let out a wail of pain.

"AH! OUCH!"

Amber ran upstairs, "KAYLA?!"

"Call Adam!" I gasped.

"What's wrong?"

"The baby! The baby is coming!" I gasped in the middle of a painful contraction.

"Should we go to the hospital?!" She panicked.

"NO! Call Adam! Please!"

...

After hours of painful contractions, I am happy to announce that Adam and I were the proud parents of a baby girl.

"How about Ella?" Adam suggested.

"I don't know..." I said.

"Samantha?"

I shook my head.

"Jackie?"

"I dated a Jackie in high school, she was not a nice person." Adam said.

I laughed.

"Aria?"

I looked at him and then looked down at our daughter in my arms.

"Aria. What do you think baby girl?"

She made a grunting sound.

I laughed, "Looks like we have a name."

I smiled and looked at Adam, he kissed me on the forehead.

Welcome to the world Aria!

I love the name Aria!  She will be a wonderful addition for sure.  I had once thought of doing a dynasty where the names were all musical, Aria, Allegra, Libretto, etc.  So many musical terms to choose from.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Welcome, Little Song! Aria is a beautiful name! I can't help wondering whether Bent and Ry secretly got married or had a kid or something O_o

I'm wondering the same thing. If Ry is preggers, though, I think it would be visible by now! I hadn't thought of the secret marriage thing. That would make sense.

I'm looking forward to finally get the answer.

I'm also betting on the secret wedding. It's that or they are having a nooboo soon.

Kayla's POV

I was leaning against the door frame watching Adam having a private conversation with Aria.

"I'm going to do my very best to protect you little one." He whispered.

I smiled.

"Just know that I'm here, even if I'm mad at you, I'm here."

Tears filled my eyes as I smiled, I missed my dad. But I knew he wasn't in pain anymore and that he never left my side.

"How long have you been standing there?" Adam asked, bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Not long."

"That's embarrassing."

"No it's not, watching a father have a moment with his daughter is a beautiful thing." I said walking over.

I put my head on his shoulder and looked down at our sweet daughter in his arms. She began to fuss and kick her feet.

"I think she wants her mama."

He carefully handed her over to me.

"Will you go downstairs and get a blanket for her? She's kind of chilly."

"Sure."

"I love you Aria, never forget that."

I pulled her close to me and rocked her. My mother told me once that you never know just how much you can love someone until you have children yourself. I always laughed at her and thought she was crazy, but I realized just how right she was when Aria was born.

There was a knock on the door.

"Hey."

"Oh, hi Bentley."

He walked in slowly.

"How's my niece doing?" He asked.

"She's doing well." I said putting her back in her bassinet.

"I got a promotion at work today." He announced.

"That's great!"

Bentley was a Special Agent, the good kind at least. Adam took a job as a technical guru helping people fix their computers. Amber decided to be an entertainer, she said she's not sure which direction she's going to go though. Turns out Rylie is also good with technology so Adam got her a job at his work place as a technical guru as well. Me? Well after many conversations and doubting myself I finally broke down and went after my childhood dream, I am becoming an astronaut. I almost didn't do it, at the time we were thinking of having kids. Adam however convinced me to go after my dream and told me that if ever it got to be too much that I could get a different job.

...

"BECAUSE! You guys keep butting into our lives! Just let us be happy!" Rylie screamed.

"We know that you guys are lying to us! You have been for months!" Amber said.

"Because we aren't ready to tell you!"

"Why's that?" I asked.

"Because of the way that you guys reacted to him dating me."

"We've changed." Amber said.

"For now."

...

I was washing my hands in the bathroom, I went to grab the towel and noticed that there was a gold band on the counter. I picked it up and looked at it. Adam's band was grey and I knew for sure Amber wasn't married yet. I put it back down and walked out of the bathroom. I was going to confront Bentley about it but Aria started to cry. I picked her up and rocked her as I thought of why Bentley had a ring.

"Wait." I whispered.

"He's married..." I said slowly.

I walked downstairs after putting Aria down.

"Bentley?"

He turned around.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked.

Rylie was with him and looked confused.

"Tell you what?" He asked.

"That you're married?"

They exchanged looks.

"What do you mean?"

"I found your ring upstairs."

He was mentally kicking himself, clearly they had been hiding this for a while.

He sighed, "We were afraid of how you would react."

I gasped and pulled them both into a hug at the same time, shocking them.

"I'm so happy! I wish I was there and I'm sure Amber will too, but I am so happy for both of you!!"

"Wow, if we knew this is how you'd react we would've done this sooner!"

...

I walked into the nursery and found Rylie feeding Aria.

"She's beautiful isn't she?" I asked smiling.

"She is, and so calm too."

I nodded.

"So, you think you and Bentley are going to have kids?"

"I don't know, she may be calm but babies are a lot to handle."

"They are, but it helps having a house full of hands."

"I don't know, maybe I could be a mom..." She whispered.

Kind of a sloppy and poor written update, but meh. You guys called it! They were hiding being married!
