Ahh kids, they grow up so fast.  :P  I'm really enjoying your story Ally.

Thank you! =D

It's as of only yesterday Emma was born. I love the career you chose for her  :D

Thank you! And I know it's crazy! Sadly the next update Callie and Shayne will be elders... Not sure if I am ready to give those two up yet.  :'(

Ahh, the kids look so good! I agree, they grow up so quickly! :)

Thank you! =]

"Dad? Can I talk to you about something?" Liam said.

"Can it wait for a bit, I have to finish this case write up." Shayne said.

I looked at my two boys.

"Um," Liam's voice shook and he sounded close to tears, "It's kind of important."

Shayne looked up.

"Okay, okay. Yeah, come on. Let's go talk." He said standing up.

He took his son by the shoulder and led him to the living room.

I was very curious as to what they were talking about and what had Liam so upset.

I walked into the dining room and Emma was practicing her drink mixing skill.

"Is Liam okay? He seemed a bit upset earlier." She said.

"I'm not sure, he's in with your father." I said sitting down.

"I hope he's okay, he's been different lately."

I nodded.

Things seemed fine the next day, Shayne even managed to embarrass Liam by giving him the "talk".

"Dad please!"

"No, you need to know these things."

"Oh god."

"Son, I will support you. It doesn't matter one way or the other, I still love you." He whispered.

"Thank you dad."

I was actually getting angry at this point. I've always been close with him, when he was a child he'd come to me for everything. So why couldn't he come to me now?

Emma was well on her way to becoming a chef, she's been offered several promotions already and has had to make the decision of becoming a chef or a mixologist. Obviously she chose to become a chef because that was her true dream.

Shayne took a few days off of work to spend some time with his children. Our time was coming, and it was a truly scary thought. So I think that hit Shayne hard, to know one day he wouldn't be here and that he needed to cherish each day with his family.

Meanwhile, Emma has seemed to make a new friend. His name is Fredrick.

"He's cute!" I said.

"Mom!" She groaned.

"What? I'm just sayin'..."

She rolled her eyes.

A few days later it was Shayne and I's birthday.

We were now elders, and it was time to start the next chapter of our lives.

Hmmm, what could Liam be hiding?? ???

Let me know what you think! =]

He is actually not mine =[ I spent a while trying to make a handsome sim but it wasn't working so I just went to the gallery! His full name is Fredrik Borg!

"Liam, your mother wants to talk to you."

Liam looked up from his homework.

"About?"

"What you and I talked about the other day." Shayne said.

He sighed.

"Why won't you talk to me?" I asked.

"It's not like I'm refusing to talk to you mom." He said.

"Please, baby just tell me what's going on."

Liam looked at his father then back at me with tear filled eyes.

"I don't want you to stop loving me." He choked.

"Oh honey, nothing you have to tell me will ever, ever make me stop loving you."

He took a deep breath.

"Mom, I'm gay. I-I like boys." He whispered looking ashamed.

I looked at him for a few minutes, he lifted his bowed head and looked at me.

"Okay." I said.

"Okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, okay."

"You aren't disappointed?"

"Why would I be disappointed?"

"Because, your son isn't normal. He wont marry a girl and give you grandchildren."

"Honey," I said taking his hand, "You are normal, as normal as normal can be. Don't ever think that by being gay you are some kind of monster because you aren't! And you can still give me grandchildren, you can just adopt! I will love them just the same. I just hope your father and I are still here to see them. But, if we are gone by the time you meet someone and raise a family, just know that we are still here with you."

"Thanks mom." He smiled.

"You are very welcome."

So my son was gay, and my daughter was so close to becoming a chef. I was a proud mama, and I couldn't of asked for better kids.

"So, then I told dad that if he made a better meal than I did that I would make him dinner for the rest of the week."

"You better be prepared to lose." Shayne said.

"Yeah right!"

Emma ended up winning, but that didn't stop her from perfecting her art.

"I've been getting promotions left and right, that must mean I am doing something right." She told me.

"They just see that you are an amazing cook."

And my son was an amazing student apparently. He has been on honor roll and keeping up the A he had in all classes. Everyday he would crack down on his homework, and then work on his extra credit. He never missed a day of school and gave a hundred percent to his school work.

I walked out on the deck slowly.

Liam was going to be a young adult soon. However, I was scared that Shayne and I wouldn't be here to see him grow up to that. I knew for sure we wouldn't be here when he meets his partner. I was scared of not being here for him, sadly the world frowned upon being gay and I was scared what he will have to go through. I just hoped the close relationship with his sister will stay and she will be able to help him with all the struggles.

I wasn't ready to leave, but I had a feeling that I didn't have much time left. I just hoped the kids will be able to make it without us.

There's the surprise! I had to make sure it was allowed before I officially did it so I had to read up on the forum rules! Hope you guys enjoyed it! =]

My goodness! I hope there was no debate about it being allowed! Good for Liam. And good for you for using a storyline that, now that I think on it, has been sorely lacking in the stories on this forum. I hope you can use it to create a compelling story. Maybe Shayne isn't as accepting as he lets on? Dunno. Just randomly guessing.

I think Liam's parents just want his happiness.  There have been a couple of gay relationship stories on this forum so it shouldn't have been any problem.  Ally, you've treated the subject with the compassion it deserves.  It was well written and with excellent screenshot to convey the emotions.  ;D

I haven't seen Emma in a week! She has been spending a lot of her time over at Fredrik's house.

They were getting pretty close. Which is exciting but scary, my little girl was growing up!

Meanwhile, my baby boy grew up to become a handsome young adult.

...Who happened to meet someone who showed up at the door step one night.

"So, your car broke down?" He asked.

"Yeah."

"What's your name?"

"Ryan."

I nodded.

"You have a nice house, and a nice room."

"Thanks."

I watched as Liam shifted uncomfortably.

"Come on baby boy." I whispered.

"So, how long have you lived here for?" Liam asked.

"I actually just moved here." Ryan said smiling.

"Cool! It's a great town."

"Maybe you could show me around sometime?"

"Yeah! I mean- yeah sure."

Liam scratched the back of his head.

They seemed to have gotten along because we saw Ryan a few times that week.

"Hello darling."

"Well hello."

"How was your day?"

"Good, yours?"

"Better now."

I blushed.

Emma was promoted to Chef's assistant! Almost a chef!

Emma

"DAD!"

Everything had been going great. Fredrik and I were really getting along, and my job was amazing. Then one night, dad fell to the ground and wasn't moving.

"No!" Mom cried.

"Dad!"

The reaper showed up moments later, and we were so busy focusing on dad that we didn't see mom go down too.

"MOM!" Liam screamed.

I whipped around to see mom falling.

"Mom?!"

"I don't feel- so- good."

She fell all the way to the ground.

"NO! NO!" I screamed.

It's been a week since we lost them. Liam took it hard, he finally came out of his room. He locked himself up there and talked to no one except when Ryan would call or come over. There was a knock on the kitchen wall, I turned around.

"I hope you don't mind, I let myself in."

"No, it's fine."

Fredrik walked over to me slowly.

"How are you doing?"

I shrugged.

"Work takes my mind off it most of the time. Then I come home and make sure Liam is okay, even though he is a young adult he still needs me. I feel bad for him you know, dealing with the confusing feelings and getting used to being gay. Then losing mom and dad on the same day and only minutes apart." I sighed.

He rubbed my shoulder.

"Thank you, for being here for me." I said.

"I'm not going anywhere." He whispered.

He looked into my eyes and we slowly kissed.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't freaking out on the inside, he is kissing me!

RIP Shayne and Calliope :'(

Two of my babies are gone!!!  :'( :'( :'(

Now the fun stuff starts! I can't wait to continue, I'm glad you guys liked the Liam storyline. It's going to be a new territory for me so I hope I don't screw it up! Also, note that I had Emma take a youth potion to bring her back to the beginning of young adult. She was about to turn into an adult and that would throw everything off! So her and Liam are pretty much the same age, but whatever! Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter! =]

Wow that was a double whammy!  :'(  RIP Shayne and Callie.  I totally understand Liam feeling like he needs to shut out the world but I hope he takes a leaf out of Emma's book and find something or someone to distract him.  I hope Fredrik is going to hang around.

Liam and Ryan have been getting closer. I was happy for him, he seemed to be happy so I was happy.

I took up gardening, it was another way to clear my mind. Maybe I could also use the fresh herbs, vegetables and fruit for cooking.

"You think they are still here?" Liam asked.

"Who?"

"Mom and dad."

"Of course they are still here. They never left."

He nodded.

"Hello beautiful."

I smiled.

"How are you?"

"Better now."

We were now boyfriend and girlfriend.

"So, rumor has it your brother and Ryan are pretty serious."

"Seems like it."

"Liam hinted earlier that they are dating."

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"That's great!"

And it seemed to be true!

Everyone was happy in the household, and I hoped that it stayed that way.

Short update! But an update nonetheless! =]

Three Months Later

"Babe?! Have you seen my hair brush?" I asked.

Fredrik walked into the bedroom.

"No."

"Dang it."

He walked up and grabbed me from behind and kissed my cheek.

"I love you." He whispered.

"I love you too."

I closed my eyes as we swayed side to side.

Fredrik ended up moving in shortly after mom and dad passed away. We almost broke up once, I had a panic attack and felt like things were moving way to fast. Until one night I had a dream. In my dream mom was there, and she told me not to be scared. She told me the story about how her and dad met. She told me that if I really loved this guy, there was no such thing as too fast. I told Fredrik about my dream and apologized for being crazy. Things have been awesome since then.

"I need a shower, I stink." I said.

"Can it wait?" He asked.

"I mean I guess it can, but I have to get ready for the day."

"This will only take a moment." He said.

I looked at him weird then gasped.

"Wha- What are you doing?!"

"I love you. I've loved you from the moment I saw you. I hope that I am not making you anxious right now, but I can't wait any longer."

I looked at him with tear filled eyes.

"I know you are still in your pajamas and you claim to be stinky, but I want to have a hundred more years of waking up to you stinking in your pajamas."

I laughed and covered my mouth.

"So, this is why I must ask the woman I love this question now. Will you please make me a happy man and marry me?"

"Fredrik!" I cried.

"I hope those are happy tears." He said, worry spreading across his face.

I tried to stop crying long enough to talk.

"Emma?"

I nodded and sobbed more.

"Yes?"

I nodded.

"Yes!"

He picked me up and spun me around.

"I'm so happy!" I managed to get out.

"Thank god, I thought you were about to say no!"

"I couldn't talk! You literally made me speechless!"

"That's good."

The next few weeks were spent making plans, we decided to just have a small ceremony between the two of us.

There was a knock on the door.

"Emma?"

I looked over my shoulder and Liam was standing there.

"Are you okay?" He asked noticing me dabbing my tears away with a Kleenex.

"This is moms dress." I sniffled.

He half smiled.

"I thought since she can't- she can't be here..."

"I'm sure she is loving seeing you in it."

"I made my hair up like hers too."

He rubbed my back.

"I'm getting married today."

"Yes you are." He smiled.

He gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"I hope you get to experience this one day, whether it's with Ryan or not." I told him.

"Me too."

I took a deep breath.

"Here I go."

"Wow."

"I hope that's a good wow." I giggled.

"You look stunning."

"Thank you."

He smiled at me, and I had that moment where you know everything is going to be okay.

"Shall we?"

I nodded.

We said our vows and exchanged rings.

"I get to kiss you now."

"Are you sure?" I teased.

"Pretty sure."

"Well then what are you waiting for?"

"Look at my beautiful wife."

My heart skipped a beat.

"Well, look at my handsome husband."

"I like the way that sounds." He smiled.

I screamed.

"You look like your mother with your hair like that."

I smiled.

"She would have been so proud of you."

"She also would have loved you. She seemed to already love you when I first met you."

"At least I had her approval, your father didn't seem to care for me."

I giggled.

"Shall we go spend some... alone time?"

"Mmm, we shall."

He took my hand and led me to our bedroom.

I was married, I just hope we weren't moving too fast.

Okay guys, does it feel like it's going to fast? Feeling too rushed? I need your opinions! I hope you are enjoying it! What would you like to see next? Let me know below! And THANK YOU for reading my story! Means a lot to me! ;D

Good setup! I notice you are keeping a smaller family this time. Is that because of what happened in your other game, or just a storytelling decision?

So it seems like Emma is the main character, now, right?

Looking forward to more!

No joke: this is the ONLY story on the entire site I read right now. Not much time form Sims right now in my life, but I still come back just to check for your updates!
