Bentley's POV"I don't understand the problem." I told Amber.
She looked at me like I was crazy.
"She has blue hair Bentley!
Blue hair!"
"And you have brown hair, I'm glad we know our colors!" I snapped.
"You know what I mean."
"I'm afraid I don't." I said crossing my arms over my chest.
If you want to know what this little argument is about then let me fill you in. I met this girl a few weeks ago, her name is Rylie (pronounced Riley, just spelt different.) Not to sound cheesy, but I knew from the moment I met her at the park I wanted to be with her the rest of my life. She was absolutely beautiful inside and out. She had these bright green eyes and yes, she did have blue hair.
"What are we talking about?" Kayla asked walking in with Adam.
"Rylie." Amber told her.
"Oh." She said disapprovingly.
I threw my hands up.
"So, because she has blue hair I'm not allowed to be happy?!"
"It's not just the blue hair!"
"Why are we getting on him about her hair? If I had blue hair does that mean you wouldn't love me?" Adam asked Kayla.
My eyes bugged out of my head as I motioned towards Adam because
finally someone understood me.
"She has tattoos, all over her arms. I'm sorry but it's not attractive." Amber said.
"So, having tattoos and blue hair makes her less of a person?" Adam asked.
"Your fiance is really smart Kayla, you guys should take notes." I snapped.
"I think her attitude is starting to rub off on you." Kayla snapped back.
"Oh, now she has an attitude, great."
I walked out of the room, they didn't understand. Yes, she had blue hair and tattoos on both arms. Yes, there are times when Rylie can have a bit of an attitude (PLEASE don't tell her I said that.) But what they didn't see was that when she laughs, and I mean
really laughs, she snorts. What they didn't see is the excitement she feels when her favorite show comes on. What they don't see is the little burn behind her ear she got from the first time she used her moms hair straightener. What they don't see is when she's angry her eyes get a darker green, and she's fierce and passionate about when she's angry. I can sit here and make a list of that they don't see, what they refuse to see.
"Bentley we are just trying to look after you." Amber said walking in the room with Kayla and Adam.
"There's a reason I didn't introduce you guys to her for weeks you know." I told them.
They looked confused.
"I knew that her appearance would stop you from getting to know her like I have."
"You talk like you guys are dating, are you?" Kayla asked.
"No, we are still getting to know each other." I told them.
"Guys, I think what Bentley wants and what he's trying to get at is that he wants you guys to give her a chance."
"Can we give her a makeover, and maybe some clothes that don't involve a dog collar with spikes and belts that go around her legs?"
"GOD! You guys are so judgmental! It's like I'm seeing a brand new side of you! It's a very ugly side and I sure hope it changes if I ever decide to bring her over."
With that I left the room.
...
"Coming!" I yelled.
I opened up the door.
"Rylie!"
"I'm not hiding anymore." She said flat out, her arms folded over her stomach.
"You don't have too." I told her.
"So your sisters will take me for what I am?"
"I don't care what they think, not anymore. I saw a side of them I never thought I'd see."
"Let's go downstairs." She said.
A Few Hours Later..."You cheated!"
"I cheated?!" She asked shocked.
"Yes!"
"Okay, rematch pretty boy."
"So, you think I'm pretty."
She rolled her eyes.
"No seriously."
"Just put your hands on the levers pretty boy."
I smiled as I looked at her.
"This was fun, but I have to head home now." Rylie said.
"Okay, well I'll call you tomorrow."
She smiled and gave me a kiss on the cheek, my eyes widened as she turned around and left.
Amber's POV"Look at them." I said to Kayla.
I smiled as we watched our parents snuggle and kiss on the couch.
"What are we doing?" I asked out of no where.
"What do you mean?" Kayla asked.
"Who are we to deny Bentley happiness?" I asked.
Kayla sighed, "Maybe you're right, we were too harsh."
"I'm ashamed of myself. Shouldn't Bentley get a shot at that? To sit on a couch years from now in his lovers arms?"
"He does..."
...
Bentley's POV"You call those dance moves?!" Rylie asked.
"Yeah!"
I tried impressing her with more moves.
"Oh god stop!" She laughed, which turned into snorting.
"What?"
"You're too much!"
"I thought you'd like my flailing around!"
She snorted more.
"Bentley?" Amber asked walking down the stair.
"Oh boy." Rylie whispered as she stepped aside.
"Can we talk?" Amber asked.
"I guess."
"Kayla and I were talking, and we feel so ashamed by our behavior." She started.
"It was pretty bad."
"Rylie," Amber said addressing her, my breath hitched, "My sister and I want to apologize. I don't know if or how much Bentley told you of what we said but we are so sorry. We were way to quick to judge you based on your appearance and that is not how we were raised. It's just, at school we saw girls that were dressed the way you are. They were into drugs and listened to horrible music with offensive lyrics. They gave off this 'I don't care' attitude and shut everyone out."
"I'm not like that." Rylie chirped in.
"I know, we know that now. You see, it may be only by a few minutes but Bentley is our younger brother. So I'm blaming our poor behavior on being defensive and guarding him. I don't want him to be hurt, but I also don't want him to be miserable. I know you guys are just friends right now but he cares for you. So, what I'm saying is that if she makes you happy Bentley then you have our blessing and support." Amber finished.
"Thank you sis." I said hugging her.
Talk about having a sudden burst of creativeness and ideas! I was not expecting to get an update before Rachel and Ethan passed! I hope you guys liked it! Thanks for taking the time to read my story! =]
