I paced back and forth.

"Well I don't know, I mean he is cute." I said.

I listened to one of my friends back home talk on the other line.

"Yeah but what if he turns out to be this crazy man who kills people?"

She told me that I would never know if I didn't try.

I sighed and leaned against the wall.

"No, he's at work. Look, I'll think about it okay?"

We said goodbyes and hung up the phone. I heard the front door close and I hurried and sat on the couch as Shayne walked in.

"How was work?" I asked.

"Good, I finished my orientation and got promoted to an Orderly!" He said.

"That's great!"

He smiled.

the rest of the night we spent talking and watching movies. Halfway into the second movie I saw him "stretch" and he slowly put his arm around me.

"Does this make you nervous?"

I looked in his green eyes feeling like all the air had left my lungs.

"A little." I admitted.

"Would you like me to stop?" He asked.

"No."

What was I thinking? Was I ready for a relationship? It's been years since I've had a boyfriend and the last time didn't work out too well. He seemed like a nice guy, and we had some things in common so it wasn't like we didn't have anything to talk about. I sighed and scrubbed the counters. I was being stupid, I had a store to run and he was a med student so we wouldn't have time to even thing of a relationship.

"Morning."

I looked over and smiled.

"Good morning." I said.

I watched as he walked into the dining room/living room.

I closed my eyes, yeah I was just being silly. We had no time, and who is to say it would even work out?

I nodded as I continued to scrub the counter top.

I decided to do some sight seeing after Shayne left for work and found a mysterious tree in the backyard.

I made note that I would have to spend more time outside by it because it was just beautiful.

Short update.

What do you think Callie should do? Jump in and go with a relationship? Or keep it strictly roommates? Let me know what you think! =]

I think this is a perfect opportunity to throw a wrinkle into her life, if you know what I mean...

I was really missing my bed, I sat up and stretched as my back screamed at me.

I would have to refill the air in the mattress tonight.

I got up and shuffled across the living room into the kitchen and started making a pot of coffee.

"You would not believe the night I had last night!" Shayne said as he walked in.

"Yeah?"

"I treated this kid and she had all these spots and things on her face!"

"Were you able to treat it?" I asked.

"Yeah, it wasn't too hard."

He told me about all the new things he has been learning at the hospital and I nodded and told him my input when I was able. He was so excited about being a doctor one day. On the other hand the retail shop seemed to be having more bad days then good days. I was struggling to get my employees to actually focus and do the things I tell them to do. Then the customers didn't seem to like any of the new things I stocked.

"So how is the shop running?" He asked.

"Fine." I lied.

He found out the next day though that it was all a lie when I sat on the porch crying.

"I'm tanking this business. I was doing so well! Now all of a sudden my employees are acting out and the customers don't seem interested!" I cried.

He sighed and sat down next to me, "Don't give up hope yet."

"How am I not suppose too?!"

"Because, no matter how difficult it may be you know this job makes you happy." He said.

"It does."

He helped me stand up and pulled me into a hug.

"Things will work out, I promise." He whispered.

"How about we go do something? Say tomorrow night?" He asked.

"You work tomorrow night."

"Not anymore."

He pulled something out from behind his back.

"What do you say? We can go to that new night club downtown, have some drinks, do a little dancing."

I looked in his eyes.

"Okay."

So there we sat the night after, I was surprised when all these people shuffled in.

"I never realized how busy this place was!" I said.

"Do you want to go home?" He asked.

"What? No!"

We had some drinks, and talked to a few people at the bar.

"You are so much better at dancing than I am!" He laughed.

"I wouldn't necessarily say I'm the best!"

I laughed as he did this weird spinning move.

"What do you call that?"

"The spin!"

"How original!

We got home late in the morning when it was light out.

"I haven't stayed out this late in a while!" I laughed.

"Yeah, it's seven in the morning."

"Wow."

"I had a really nice time." He whispered moving in a little closer.

"I did too, especially with "the spin" move you did." I grinned.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

I watched him as he moved even closer and our eyes met.

I closed my eyes as he pulled apart.

I slowly opened my eyes and looked at him.

"Was that okay?" He asked.

"No."

"It was perfect." I said.

I pulled him into another kiss and put my arms around his neck.

Looks like she decided to go for it!

Hopefully things go okay!

It's been a month and I couldn't be happier! The store was starting to thrive once more and Shayne was close to another promotion! Money was still tight, but if we kept up all the hard work then everything should work out. I called home and talked to my parents and they were thrilled that I was dating again. They asked me when we were going to become official.

"I don't know mom, he hasn't asked me yet." I said from the kitchen.

I peeked into the living room where Shayne sat.

"Of course I do! Mom can we talk later? Because he's in the next room! Yes, yes mom, I know. I know you want me to be happy. Yes mama. I love you too, yes. Tell dad I love him, bye mama."

I smiled as I hung up the phone.

I walked into the living room.

"Who was on the phone?" He asked.

I sat down next to Shayne.

"My mother, poking and prodding into my life again." I said.

"That is what they do." He grinned.

"Oh I know."

He flipped the channel to the sports channel and some football game was on.

"You watch sports?" I asked.

"Not really, but every now and there I don't mind." He said.

I watched as two players crashed together.

"Doesn't that hurt?" I asked.

"They have plenty of padding." He said.

The next day we were outside for a walk.

"Can I ask you something?" He said stopping.

I got nervous.

"I guess it depends."

"Things have been going okay, right?" He asked.

"I'd like to think it has been going better than okay." I said.

He took my hand.

"Shayne?"

"I would like to know if you'd be willing to be my girlfriend?" He asked.

"Willing?"

"You can say no, if you don't want too. I just thought we've been getting along and-"

"Shayne?"

"Yeah?"

"Shut up."

I pulled him into my arms and kissed him roughly.

We were now boyfriend and girlfriend, and he even gave me another rose!

"How was work?" I asked.

"Exhausting." He signed.

"Come here."

"But it makes me feel better knowing I have a beautiful woman to come home too." He said.

I pulled away and smiled.

Before we knew it another month had passed. Things were getting a little rocky.

"You are hardly home!"

"I have a job Callie!"

"And I don't?! You still see me here don't you?!" I screamed.

"I'm sorry if I have long weird hours Callie but I am trying to make a living!"

"What happens if we get married huh?!"

"Well we aren't there yet, and quite frankly don't know if we will ever be there." He said.

I opened my mouth as he went and sat down.

"Excuse me?"

"The way you are acting right now is crazy!"

"The way I am acting?! How am I suppose to be acting Shayne?! PLEASE tell me."

"Like someone who doesn't appreciate what I am doing!" He screamed.

"I do appreciate what you are doing Shayne! I would just like to see you more!" I snapped.

"I would like that too but I cannot help it sometimes!"

"What are we going to do if we have babies? Huh? Am I just suppose to stay at home with the kids and give up my dream of running the store? Huh? And sit there while you go and live yours?!"

"Calliope enough."

"You know I don't like that name."

"And you know I don't like being screamed at the second I get home!" He screamed.

"It's like I'm meeting a different side of you." I said.

"Yeah, well it's like I don't even know you anymore so I guess we are both learning new things." He said getting up and walking away.

My mouth fell open as tears came to my eyes, I watched him walk away and slam the bedroom door.

Uh oh.

I got up from the table and marched into the room.

"I gave my house to you." I snapped.

"And I appreciate that." He said.

He was packing a duffel bag.

"You're leaving?!"

"I can stay at the hospital for a few days, I think the break would be good." He said.

"Good for who?! You?!" I asked.

"For us! Okay?! Because I am not giving up on us! I just need a break!"

"By running off to the one place that is what caused this!" I screamed.

"Okay, I am not going to stand here and get screamed at."

"THEN LEAVE! I DON'T CARE!" I screamed the tears coming down now.

"Callie-"

"NO! Leave! Just get out!" I yelled.

He looked hurt, but he grabbed his bag and walked passed me. I watched as he walked out the front door, I ran my fingers through my hair and screamed at the door.

A Few Weeks Later

I walked through the double doors of the hospital. I looked around for any sign of Shayne but he wasn't here, it must have been his day off. I walked up to the front desk and waited for the receptionist to acknowledge me.

"Hello. How can I help you?"

"I need to see a doctor, I'm not feeling good." I said.

"Okay, name?"

"Calliope Sawyer."

Before I knew it I was admitted into a room. I rubbed my stomach which was all queasy.

"Ms. Sawyer?"

I looked up and there was  a nurse standing in front of me.

"Hi."

"Hi, what seems to be the problem today?" She asked cheerfully.

"I've been sick, throwing up every morning and I can hardly keep anything I eat down." I said.

She asked me a few more standard questions like: when was my last period, when did I start having these symptoms, if I was having any other symptoms, things like that. Then she took my blood and told me that the doctor would analyze it and they should have the results within 24-48 hours. I got off of the table and headed home.

Shayne's POV

"Morning."

I walked into the doctor's lounge.

"Did you sleep well?" Nurse Jackie asked.

"A little, kept waking up though." I said.

"Well, looks like a slow day." She said.

I looked at the board and saw that I was listed for analyzing blood today.

"Slow day is right." I said.

I headed into the lab and started sorting through lab results, I decided to call people and tell them their results were in. I grabbed a stack and called each of the numbers and left the standard 'your results are in please call back and schedule an appointment' message. I yawned as I rubbed the back of my neck and flipped open the next file and read the patients name and my heart stopped.

Patient's Name: Calliope Sawyer
Phone Number: 123-4567
Case Number: 345

Reason for Visit:

Patient is experiencing nausea and tiredness.

Treatment:

Blood tests to find out cause of sickness.

Results:

Patient's blood results came back positive for pregnancy. Patient is believed to be six weeks pregnant.

I covered my mouth and dropped the file. I ran my fingers through my hair as I stood up and walked away from the desk. I felt my legs begin to shake and my stomach turn as I walked out of the room.

"I have to leave for the day, something came up."

Callie's POV

"Are you sure? Yes, yes thank you."

I hung up the phone and put a hand on my stomach.

What was I going to do? I leaned against the wall and slowly slid down to the floor. I was alone and now I was pregnant, how was I going to be able to do this?

"I'm sorry." I cried as I put a hand on my stomach.

I felt like a failure already, I was barely surviving as it was and now there was going to be a baby to raise. I heard the doorbell ring I quickly wiped the tears from my face and stood up. I walked to the front door and opened it and there stood the last person I expected to ever see again.

"Can I come in?"

I looked at the ground, "I guess."

Shayne walked into the house and walked into the living room, I closed the front door and followed him.

"Would it help if I said I was a complete idiot?" He asked.

I bit my lip and looked at him.

"Callie please." He said.

"What am I suppose to say? That I'm sorry?" I asked.

"No, because I over reacted." He said.

"You're not the only one." I whispered.

He walked over to me slowly.

"You're still beautiful." He whispered.

I closed my eyes as he stroked my cheek softly.

"Shayne." I said.

He looked at me.

I opened my eyes and took a deep breath.

"I'm pregnant." I whispered.

"I know." He said.

"You know?"

"I work at the hospital remember?" He asked.

"I remember." I said.

"Can we talk about this?" He asked.

I nodded, we walked over to the table and sat down and we talked all night about our options and how we were going to handle this.

Sorry about the lack of pictures, this idea just came into mind and there wasn't a lot of pictures to go along with the story. Let me know what you guys think, I randomly had this idea and just went with it!

"This stinks!" I gasped as I threw up everything I had ate this morning.

"Well I don't believe it's suppose to be fun." Shayne said as he tried keeping my hair out of my face.

I groaned as I sat up, he got up and got me a glass of water. I rinsed my mouth out and spit it back into the sink before I took a drink.

"Do you want to lay down?" He asked.

"No, I'll be fine." I said resting a hand on my stomach as we walked out of the bathroom.

He helped me sit down on the couch, I smiled up at him.

"What?" He asked.

"You taking good care of me, it's cute."

He smiled and kissed my forehead.

The next day I was able to actually eat something and keep it down.

"You changed?" Shayne asked.

"Just until I have the baby, no one wants to see my belly I may get stretch marks." I said.

"I want to see your belly." He said.

"Well lucky you, you can see it whenever you want." I giggled and blushed.

"You're cute when you blush." He said.

Which only made me blush more.

"So, I quit at the hospital."

My eyes bugged out.

"What?!"

"Yeah, there are other jobs out there that are less time consuming."

"Shayne, you didn't have to quit." I sighed.

"Yes I did." He said taking my hand.

So the next day he found a job opening as a detective.

"It won't be dangerous will it?" I asked.

"It may be, but I promise you that I will be careful." He said.

I sighed, "Okay."

"It's an 8 AM to 5 PM job so I'll be home every night instead of all day." He said.

I nodded, I still felt guilty because he quit the hospital because of me. It was his dream to become a doctor and he just gave it up like that because of me.

Before I knew it I had a little belly sticking out.

"There's really a baby in there."

I laughed, "Yes there is."

"Wow."

Then, I really popped!

"I'm a whale!"

"You aren't a whale, you're beautiful."

I rolled my eyes.

"I have something to give you to prove that I think you are beautiful."

I turned around and gasped.

"Shayne?!"

"I love you, and I know we did things backwards but I wouldn't change a thing. I love you, and I am thankful you took me back after our nasty fight. I'm sure it won't be our last, but I am looking forward to facing each and every challenge life brings us. So will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

"Yes!"

He smiled and slid the ring on my left ring finger, I held it up to get a better view.

"Oh Shayne! It's beautiful!"

We didn't waste any time planning a small wedding with just the two of us. I thought it would be nice having it by that beautiful tree that I had found. I walked up to the tree and saw Shayne with his back towards me. I looked down at my wedding dress, I was a whale and I didn't know how he thought I was beautiful.

"Shayne?"

He turned around and put his hand on his chest.

"I think you just stopped my heart, so beautiful."

"I wish we would have done this after the baby, then that might be actually true." I said.

"It is true, you are beautiful when you aren't pregnant."

I opened my mouth.

"However, you. You are absolutely stunning and gorgeous when you are carrying my baby."

That did it, my eyes filled with tears and fell down my cheeks.

We said our vows which I was amazed I made it through mine because I was such a mess.

"I think I get to kiss my bride now."

"Mmm, do you?"

"Yeah." He whispered.

He pulled my gently to him and kissed me softly.

"Oh!" I gasped.

"WHAT?!"

"The baby is kicking!" I giggled.

He was white as a ghost.

"Don't scare me like that!"

"Sorry."

He pulled me into another kiss, we were officially man and wife.

Two days after the wedding I started to feel sharp pains in my back that seemed to move to my stomach.

The pain got worse that night.

"Ow! Ow!" I cried out.

"We should go to the hospital." Shayne said.

"I'm scared." I admitted.

"Me too, but the contractions are five minutes apart."

"My water hasn't- Oh!"

"Now it has."

So we were off to the hospital.

"I'm really scared."

"It'll be okay, the nurse is going to get you set up and then I'll be in there." Shayne said.

He kissed me on the lips before the nurse called my name and I followed her into the room.

I was put into this machine with two big holes in the side. I prayed that the doctor knew what she was doing.

The pain was intense.

"Breathe."

"YOU BREATHE!" I screamed.

I laid my head back on the bed and cried out as another pain hit me.

All of a sudden the machine flat lined and all I remember was Shayne screaming my name.

"What did you do?! WHAT DID YOU DO! Bring her back! Please! You have to bring her back!" Shayne screamed.

"We got her back!" The doctor said after a few minutes.

And after a few minutes Shayne and I were parents.

I was extremely sore but I got up anyway.

I would like to show you our baby girl, Emma.

Long update and lots of pictures to make up for the last update! Hope you guys liked the last update and this one! =]

"Do you think we have to get up and get her?"

"I think that's how it works." I yawned.

Shayne looked at the clock and groaned, "It's 3 AM, she was up at 1 AM."

I sighed and rubbed my eyes.

"Are we up yet?" He asked.

"No."

Meanwhile Emma cried and cried probably wanting to be fed.

"How about now?"

"I don't think so."

A few more seconds passed.

"Okay." Shayne said getting up.

I got up and walked over to the bassinet while Shayne picked her up.

"I feel bad not being able to help with this part." He said.

"Don't be, it's said to be healthier to breast feed." I said sitting on the bed.

He gently handed her over to me and I began to feed her.

"Callie."

I started to nod off.

"Don't fall asleep." He said nudging me with his hand.

"Mmm."

The process went on until I was finally finished feeding her.

She was the cutest baby I had ever seen in my life.

"I think she has your eyes honey." I said.

"Yeah?! Whose hair do you think she'll have?"

"If she is lucky, yours."

"Why wouldn't she be lucky to have your hair? You have beautiful hair!"

"Yeah beautiful hair that got me called ginger and convinced me that I had no soul up until high school."

He just rolled his eyes.

Shayne was loving his job as a detective! He had to go and prove to his boss that he could handle his first case by himself.

I apologized every day almost for my behavior and making him give up his dream. He thanked me each time though because he apparently was confused. He said that he was enjoying being a detective more than he was enjoying being a doctor.

While he was at work I stayed home making sure that Emma was taken care of and the house was being kept clean. I was going to throw this fridge out of the window if it breaks on more time though.

Look at my pretty baby! It was hard to believe how fast time flew by because she was going to be a child soon!

I am REALLY missing being able to adjust how long each stage of sims life are!!! I feel like the baby stage is only a day long! Let me know what you think! =]
