"Hey babe, what are you doing?" Fredrick asked.

"Cleaning out some storage boxes."

He walked up to me, I sniffed as I clutched a blue onesie.

"This is the onesie we brought Colten home in." I said as a tear ran down my cheek.

Fredrick rubbed my back.

"He's going to be a young adult soon." I sniffled.

"I know."

I wiped my tears away and laughed, Fredrick sat down and grabbed a box.

The family adjusted to being in the house fast, it was a beautiful home.

The kitchen was huge! Which was amazing because it gave me plenty of room to cook and perfect my skills further.

"So, you're going to be a young adult soon." I said.

"Yeah." Colten said.

"Are you excited?"

"I guess."

I could tell something was bothering him.

"What's wrong sweetie?"

"Nothing."

"I know you better than you think, there is something bothering you."

"I was thinking of moving out after my birthday." He said.

I looked at him and felt as if someone just stabbed me in the heart and twisted.

"Oh." I said.

"Steven and I were talking about how neat it would be to get our own place."

"Steven is still a teenager."

"I know, but he will be a young adult too shortly after my birthday."

"Is he going to discuss this with his parents?"

"Of course."

I bit my lip.

"May I ask why?"

He sighed, "I don't know, it's nothing personal. I love this house and everything but I just feel like it's too crowded here."

"Not to sound morbid or anything but your father and I and Liam and Ryan aren't going to be here for long after your birthday."

"I know, but what happens when Rachel meets someone? Then the children will come and it'll be just as crowded if not more. I'm not doing this to hurt anyone, I'm just ready to move on to the next part of my life. Also it's not like I can't come visit, or you guys can't come visit us."

I nodded.

"Are you mad?" He asked.

"No, I understand."

"It's not set in stone, Ryan and Liam could say no and then the whole thing would be off."

So, we celebrated birthdays!

Colten- Young Adult

Me- Elder

Fredrick- Elder

Liam- Elder

Ryan- Elder

Austin- Teenager

Now to see if Colten and Steven were really serious.

What do you think? Are they serious about moving out? And is it a good idea? Let me know what you think below! :)

Happy birthday (practically) everyone! I can understand Colten wanting to go out into the world, it would add a touch of realism to the story. From a player point of view, I would be biting my nails hoping that he and Steven aren't culled by the game! It seems to be a huge problem for folks just now. But......the decision rests with you (no pressure!)  ;D

I built the new house (Well placed it) in Newcrest so I'm hoping (if I choose to move them) it won't happen! I haven't made up my mind yet or not! Playing now, but may not get an update up tonight!

Rachel's POV

"A friend of mine is coming over for supper, I hope that's okay." I said.

"Of course it is!" Emma said.

His name was Ethan and we have been talking for a few months.

"Thanks for inviting me, dinner was delicious." Ethan said.

"Thank you." I smiled.

"It's a beautiful home."

"It is, we struggled for a while before we finally found it."

"I know how struggling is. My mom and I lived on the streets for a while when I was a child."

"Oh wow, here I am complaining about living in a small house."

"No no, really it's fine. It's something I look back on to remind me how strong I am."

I nodded.

"Shall we go swimming?" He asked.

"Yeah."

"Care if we join?"

Fredrick and Steven stood by the pool.

"Of course not!" Ethan said.

I faked a smile, I was kind of hoping for some alone time to see where this was going.

"Hey Ethan?"

"Yeah?"

"Hey!" He shrieked.

He splashed me back and I screamed.

"Pay back isn't fun now is it?" He laughed.

Steven and Fredrick ended up leaving, but we decided to go hang out in the hot tub.

I sat there smiling, I could tell he was as nervous as I was.

"So, tonight has been fun." He said.

"It has."

He looked at me and looked almost shocked.

"What?"

"Uh-"

"What is it?" I asked.

"I don't mean to say this in a bad way, but you have red blotches all over you." He said.

"What?!"

I looked down at my arms and sure enough, my whole body was covered in red spots.

"Look it's okay, I have to head home anyway."

"No, please stay. I have some medicine that should make it go away."

"No, really. I'll see you tomorrow at work."

I sighed as he got out of the hot tub and headed home.

How embarrassing.

Poor Rachel! =[

Poor lass, I bet that's not the ending to the evening she hoped for! I like her "modest" swimsuit haha. Here's hoping she and Ethan can reschedule when she's less blotchy.

Rachel's POV

"No, no! No I will not do that." I giggled.

Emma looked at me suggestively.

"Okay, yeah! Yeah, I'll talk to you later."

I hung up the phone and grabbed a strawberry and an apple.

"So, you two have been talking on the phone a lot." Emma said.

"Yeah, sorry about that."

"No need to apologize, so things are getting serious?"

"I don't know, we haven't really talked about it. We flirt back and forth, but we haven't really had that moment."

"It'll come, trust me."

"Do you want one?" I asked.

"Sure!"

Our house apparently had a third floor that we never knew about. We turned it into a activities and workout space.

"So, chess. It's a simple game to learn with a few rules." Dad said.

"I still don't understand it." I said scratching my head.

"It's simple." He said.

I watched him try to show me how to play the game, he patiently told me the rules.

"I can't get this."

"Yes you can."

"No I can't!"

He looked at me and the room got serious.

"Look, you and I both know my time is limited. I want to spend the time I have left teaching you the important things in life."

"Dad, chess isn't an important thing."

"No, but learning that you aren't a quitter is. From the moment your father and I adopted you, you have been the smartest, most talented little girl ever. When things get tough you tend to hesitate and think you can't do it though. Baby girl, you can do anything you put your mind too, you just have to believe in yourself."

"And now I'm crying." I said wiping my eyes.

He stood up and hugged me tightly.

...

"Do you think there is a heaven?"

Ethan looked at me, "I don't know."

I sighed.

"I believe there is a place where our loved ones go to wait for us. Once we die we join them and live happily ever after." He said.

"So there is no heaven, but some place we go?"

"I know it's weird, but this whole heaven and hell thing seems fake. I mean your whole life they tell you to be good so you can go to heaven, but be mean and evil and you are going to hell. But whose to say where we go? So I like to believe there there is an in-between for people who don't believe in heaven or hell."

I looked up at the sky.

"What brought this on?" He asked.

I sighed, "Just thinking of how my parents are getting older and so is my aunt and uncle."

He smiled at me.

"That cloud is shaped like a dog."

I laughed.

"Look at that one!"

"Looks like a horse." I giggled.

"We should get off the ground."

He stood up and helped me to my feet, I tripped and almost knocked us both back on the ground.

"Sorry." I laughed.

"It's perfectly fine."

"Thanks for inviting me over." Ethan said.

"No problem, figured a night swim would be a good idea."

"Yeah, no one can get hurt here."

"Have you met me?" I giggled.

"I have, and I find your clumsiness adorable."

I blushed.

"Look, that kid is picking his nose!" I pointed out.

"Gross."

"Five bucks says he eats it."

Moments later he put his finger in his mouth.

"Gross!" Ethan laughed.

He looked back up and stared in my eyes.

"You have beautiful brown eyes."

I shrugged, "I know."

He chuckled, "Someone is sure of themselves."

I rolled my eyes. I rolled my neck and rubbed it.

"Your back bothering you?" He asked.

"A little."

"I've been told I give the best massages."

"Do you?"

"Yeah, you mind?"

"No."

"Wow, yeah you are pretty good at that." I said.

"Told you."

We spent the rest of the night laughing and flirting back and forth.

Things with Rachel and Ethan seem to be going good! Let me know what you think! Thanks for reading! =]

Aww they are so cute together. I am getting a little apprehensive of all the goodbyes to come. I hope Ethan can keep her steady through all that. Great update!

Rachel and Ethan have been spending a lot of time together for the past couple months. I was glad to see her happy and so excited to see where this was going.

"So, you guys boyfriend and girlfriend yet?" I asked.

"As a matter of fact we are." She smiled.

"What?! When?!" I gasped.

"Last night." She beamed.

"Have you told your fathers?"

"Yeah, they were... okay with it."

I gave her a look.

"Okay, they threatened to kill him if he hurt me."

I laughed.

"I'm going to get dinner started, Ethan is welcome to stay if he'd like."

I nodded.

Rachel's POV

"Hey beautiful."

"Hey."

I climbed into the hot tub next to Ethan.

"What was that for?" He asked smiling.

"Oh you know." I giggled.

He looked at me and it was like I was hypnotized.

"Rachel." He whispered.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

I nodded before pulling him under the water.

Later that night after everyone was asleep I peaked in to make sure my parents were okay. I stood in the doorway for a while just thinking about what life was going to be like without them.

"I miss you already, and you are still here." I whispered.

Emma's POV

We had a lot of new things upstairs, and this bush thing was one of them. It was weird, what was I suppose to do with it? I started to clip and chop until it made a shape. It looked stupid, so I just let it grow back out.

It's been a few weeks since Ethan asked Rachel to be his girlfriend, they were moving so fast that I was surprised they weren't married by now.

"Hey Em?"

I turned around and saw Ryan standing in the door way.

"Yeah?"

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

We both sat down at the table.

"Emma talks to you a lot, and that's great. So I was just wondering what you thought about Ethan?" He asked.

"I think he's a nice guy."

He sighed, "I'm just worried that they are moving fast. Liam says he's fine but, she's my little girl."

I grabbed his hand.

"Ryan, he's good to her. They've been dating for months now, I don't think you have anything to worry about."

He nodded.

I was walking passed the dining room and heard Steven and Austin talking.

"So, you and Colten are moving?" Austin asked.

"We're thinking about it." Steven said.

"When?"

"I don't know, sometime soon though."

There was a pause.

"Can I come?"

"You'd want to move out?"

"I-I mean I guess."

"Why do you want to move?" Steven asked.

"The house won't be the same without you guys." Austin said.

Steven sighed, "If it's what you want then I'm sure Colten won't mind."

I closed my eyes.

Here I thought moving into this home would keep us all together, but now people want to move away.

"Rachel?"

I walked into the living room and found her curled up on the couch.

"Hmm?"

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"I don't feel so good."

"What's wrong?"

"My stomach has been queasy all morning."

"Just today?"

"No, some yesterday too."

"Uh oh, well I've heard the flu is going around." I said.

She groaned.

"I'm going to go make you some soup."

"Okay."

Hmmm, what could be wrong with Rachel? And Austin wants to move out too??? Let me know what you think!

This update will not include pictures, I was not able to get enough pictures/pictures that would fit the text.

I sat on my bed staring blankly at the floor.

"I don't have the right things to say to make this better."

I looked up to see Etan standing in the doorway.

"Please say something."

I looked down at the crumbled Kleenex in my hands.

He walked over and slowly sat on the bed.

"When I was a child, I witnessed a man die in the park. My mom came and explained to me what happened and that I shouldn't be afraid. I remember asking her why the man had to die and she told me that everything happens for-"

"Please, please do not give me the everything happens for a reason speech. I know you are trying to help, but I am finding it hard to find a reason for my parents and aunt and uncle dying. Why did they have to die?! All in the same day?!"

I burst into more tears and Ethan grabbed a hold of me. I sobbed loudly into his arms as he rocked me.

A Few Weeks Later...

"Can you come over please? No. No please Ethan. Please come over."

I growled when he said he was busy and hung up the phone, I was in the middle of a break down with the tears streaming down my face.  I put the phone down on the counter and started dinner. Colten was at work, Steven was out looking for work since he aged into a young adult, and Austin was still at school.

"I'm home!" Austin said.

I quickly turned my back to him before he saw that I was crying.

"Something smells good!" He said.

"We're having pizza." I choked out.

"Nice."

"Do you have homework?"

He groaned, "Yeah."

"Go work on it, dinner won't be ready for a little while."

He grabbed his backpack and walking into the kitchen.

I bit my lip and looked at the ceiling.

...

"I NEEDED YOU!"

"I was at work!"

"Yeah, well I needed you."

"I don't understand what brought this on!"

I looked at Ethan who was fuming.

"Every day I wake up, and every day this house is a constant reminder of what happened. This is what I deal with, every. single. day."

"What do you want me to do about it Rachel?! I can't take the pain away! Believe me, if I could I would but I can't!"

"Please Ethan!"

"Please what?!" He screamed.

"GET ME OUT OF THIS HOUSE!" I sobbed.

He looked at me before coming over to me and hugged me.

...

"This is crazy." I giggled.

"Sign here." The lady said.

I signed on the line.

"Congratulations, the house is officially yours."

I looked at Ethan and gave him a kiss. We had barely been dating long, but everything felt right with Ethan. I was still feeling under the weather but I was starting to feel normal again. I didn't spend each morning throwing up, and continued to be nauseous throughout the day. We didn't have much moving in, but thankfully the house came with everything we'd need.

Everything was going great, or so I thought. Ethan was able to find a job fast and we were having no problem keeping up with the bills. Something changed through, Ethan seemed distant and stressed.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Ethan, I can tell when something is bothering you."

"It's nothing."

I sighed.

"Shutting me out isn't the answer."

We then started a scream match, the first one since I begged him to get me out of my parent's house.

"YOU ARE NEVER HOME ANYMORE!" I screamed.

"I have to work Rachel."

"Work, work, work! That is ALL you talk about."

"I'm trying to support us!"

"I have a job too!"

He signed and covered his face.

"Maybe we should take a break." He whispered.

I looked at him like he had three heads.

"WHAT?!"

"All this fighting, over nothing, isn't good for us."

"So just giving up is?!"

"I'm not saying that!"

I looked at him.

"Well before you make that decision you should know something."

"What?"

"I'm pregnant."

BUM BUM BUM...

I do love a good cliffhanger! I would hate to see Rachel as a single mother........
