The Helpmann Family - Gen 3 Immortal
« on: March 27, 2015, 12:58:38 AM »
Let's Start at the Very Beginning

"Say cheese" said a disembodied voice.

Marina did as asked and gazed in wonder at the sims around her. Cruisinator, Sydney, Jean and many others. A large gong sounded and through a trapdoor in the ceiling Steven Avenger fell.

"Remind me not to use the Keatons again," the disembodied voice said, as Steven looked around sadly.

"Well it is my turn now," Marina stated calmly, and she looked around at the assembled former founders.

"Wish me luck ladies, gents, ghosts, fairies, witches," she added and headed towards one of the doors. The door said 'Riverview' and though she had watched others use it before, this was her first time, and she knew who she was going to marry. Behind her, bets had already started on how far she would get and what the ultimate ending to her quest would be.

She was an avant garde, friendly, artistic family-orientated schmoozer who hoped for a rich husband. She found her future Mr Helpmann and she set out to romance him and convince him he wanted to paint her and produce her a daughter as well as garden, fish and cook in between achieving his own LTW of becoming a world renowned surgeon.

For a bunch of flowers, a whispering of sweet nothings and a meal at the local restaurant, her chosen victim husband, Jebediah said, "I do love you, I will marry you and I will sell my laptop and car to build a house for you and seven immortals of the Helpmann line." And to prove it, he married her then and there in front of local resident Hunter Cottoneye dressed in his Sunday best swimwear.

While he was set up at the easel inside, Marina began to create the street art that would become her supermaxed skill and began to spend lthps on influence with the nerds, the rebels and the jocks, she did have a dream of being influential with all three groups, after all. On becoming top of the tree with the rebels, she accepted an offer a job as an Art Appraiser, the elderly Lucille Spenster became her boss. On her way there, she spent a lot of time in the outdoors, and developed a love of the outdoors. Now, she just had to wait for the opportunities to start up for her so she would become an immortal down the line.

Good luck, Dek! I hope your dynasty goes better this time! I've never used Riverview before so I'm interested in your choices for helpers and spouses. Again, good luck!

Thank you Krae and dontmindme. Gen 2 is almost YA, Gen 1 is almost Elder/Immortal and first death has occurred. Also, pictures have been added to the first post.

I'm going for the 'minimalistic approach' this time
- no travelling
- no one in household apart from spouses and heirs
- no tombstones on property

Gen 1 spouse fished, gardened, got the imaginary friend metamorphosis potion, learned and cooked ambrosia and painted portraits while also reaching level 10 in his career. Extensive use of brain enhancement machines was made to achieve this.

Tea for Two

Jebediah had been hard at work on a project. One night he brought it up with Marina as they lay together in bed talking about their days.

Jebediah - "You know, I've read up about these immortal dynasties, and I think we need additions to the household."

Marina - "Ummm, no, I don't think so."

Jebediah - "Well there are photographs and sculpting."

Marina - "Optional requirements, totally optional, and we aren't doing them."

Jebediah - "Well, what about the portraits."

Marina - "Well, you are doing them, remember the easel and me sending you off to the school for the class in painting?"

Jebediah - "What about the ambrosia? The fishing ..."

Marina - "You need to get started on that, I suppose. But, I have a plan for that, a cunning plan."

Jebediah - "Gardening ..."

Marina - "You've started on that, remember, level 5 already and you have been to the graveyard for the deathflower flower. And those other special seeds you found."

Jebediah - "And cooking the ambrosia ..."

Marina - "You know that cunning plan I mentioned earlier? That involves you and a set of brain enhancement machines I bought earlier with your wages and the proceeds of sale of my paintings. You get to level 10 cooking, you buy the ambrosia recipe, and you begin to prepare the ambrosia dish, and stop it in the bowl stage for the replicator to do its job."

Jebediah - "Well, I am much older than you, what will you do for friends? I probably won't survive until you are an elder."

Marina - "The spouse of our child will learn alchemy and produce friendship potions which I will throw at local residents."

Jebediah - "When I die, what will you do to get portraits?"

Marina - "Our child will do painting in addition to their supermax."

Jebediah - "We don't have a child yet."

Marina - "Well why don't we fix that up right now, Jebediah Springfield Helpmann?"

They kissed and dove under the covers, rose heart petals fell and chimes sounded. Marina became sick and they were on their way to having a child.

Jebediah fished, gardened and used the mind enhancing machines to improve his cooking skill. He also worked hard in his medical career.

Marina painted, continued her street art, helped in the garden and worked in art acquisitions and appraisals at the local abandoned warehouse.

They were enjoying their tea for two one afternoon when Marina went into contractions and Jebediah arranged for her to be attended to at the hospital almost immediately. He had to wait and watch and see his child be born.

Marina and Jebediah were proud parents of a bouncing baby girl who was artistic and neurotic and was destined to become an author. Her name was Olivia Helpmann.

I went the no sculpture, no photo, only family helper route too. It worked for me. I kept the tombstones at a park the family owned and kept those troublesome ghosts away. I hope all goes well.

Holy cowplant! How many of these dynasties did you fail?  :o  ::)

I'm just joking, good luck on your attempt.
I play The Sims 4 for fun, so I don't care if I never end up being interviewed for the Dynasty Hall of Fame; people who play for keeps burn out too easily and don't enjoy playing the games, so I am going to not sweat the details.

I'm just joking, good luck on your attempt.

Let's see - too many for me to count if I use all my fingers and toes. :)

Most of them are in the graveyard. :)

There are some that never made it to the boards.

However, in this one,

Generation 4 is currently a toddler, his future spouse is the scientifically cloned clone of one of the Lin sisters.

Generation 3 and spouse are both YA,

Generation 2 and spouse have both just turned Elder, and

Generation 1 is an immortal.

Generation 2 is two opportunities away from being immortal.

Generation 3 is just maxed career, ltw, opportunities, friends and YA & A portraits away from being immortal. Gen 3 has already supermaxed skill (handiness) and purchased his LTRs.

So, even if Gen 2 spouse doesn't die by the time Gen 4 and spouse become YA, there is enough space for Gen 5 to be born.

So I don't forget portraits, I age up heirs in the morning of their birthday, send them to the dresser and then to the easel for the founder to paint them. Should the founder be at work, one of the other heirs or a spouse does the painting. I keep painting free for all.

Whatever happens, this is my best effort.

Jebediah

What makes the recipe worth the cooking?
What makes the garden worth the seed?
What makes the fishes worth the catching?
The logic books worth the read?

Marina
To me the answer's clear
It's having someone near, someone dear

Jebediah
Someone to stay awake for, to change nappies for,
I have you Two!
Someone to cook for, to set things up for,
I have you Two!
Someone to share love or despair with,
whichever betides you

Marina
Life becomes a chore, unless you're living for
someone to tend to, be best friends to
I have you Two!

Jebediah
Someone to strive for, do then die for
I have you two!

Jebediah/Marina
Could be, we three get along so famously
'cause you two have me, and I have you two too!

Marina
You we will care for, We'll be there for

Olivia
I have you two!

Jebediah
You we will earn for, We'll paint portraits for,

Olivia
I have you Two!
Someone to smile once in a while with,
Whenever I'm lonesome,
But look, what I've got,
is A friend with purple hair on top,
But I couldn't do more
Than what is done by my mum and father

Marina/Jebediah
OLI!

Marina
Things go asunder
And I wonder why you bother

All Three
Could be, we three get along so famously
'cause

Marina/Olivia
We two have you,

Jebediah
and I have you two

All Three
Too

Spoken

Jebediah: Oli, I've noticed that you spent time with some kind of energy. I've made a special gift for you to use with your friend.
Olivia: Thank you daddy, oh a potion, and to think the science lab wanted to charge me for this. Mummy can I use this on Riley?
Marina: Yes, Oli, you can.
Olivia: Thank you mummy.

Olivia hands the potion to where she claims Riley is and her parents watch as a dark skinned sim takes place.

Riley
Someone to stay with, go to prom with

I have them three!
Someone to fish for, learn science, mix potions for,
I have them three!
What's more we four,
Will get along enormously cause
Them three
Have me
An' that's what's us four's for!

With apologies to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's "You Two" & "Them Three"
