Well if you didn't have any in your fridge than I guess that is strange and I dont think a glitch would cause him to make that. If you had some on your home lot but already harvested then that could explain it.

I just gave my butler a makeover. Her day-wear was boring but I got tired of her walking around in her lingerie at night in front of the husband. She had garters on walking around! I had to put a stop to it.

Now that I think about it, I should've done a before and after.

The pancakes with Renoit Grapes? THat's simple, that's what pancakes default to being made by if there's no toher fruit in the fridge, or maybe they were just in the fridge. Happens to me when I don't any fruit in my fridge too.

You beat me to the answer and you are absolutely correct.  I found that out quite a while back when my sim kept making different grape pancakes and that particular grape was not even in there. :)

I wonder if the fact that butlers do repairs has something to do with the bug relating to handymen not fixing anything. That sounds like a probable connection to me.

I have had repair people show up and fix things in my games. So it must be an intermittent thing?

I finally found a butler that does not vanish and actually fixes things in half the time a playable sim does.  I watched one as he started fixing the tv and cringed because I have heard stories about butlers being electrocuted and die.  He finished almost as soon as he started.  Found out he is, handy, family oriented, genius, brave and neat.  Those are really good qualities and I hope he sticks around.  They really like to cook, don't they, good grief.  lol. ;D

If I leave nectar glasses on a tablet on a table behind when my sims doesn't need to drink all four and I have a butler, will he clean it or just leave it? I hope the last one, because I mostly will leave the nectar glasses for later use.

My butler vanished after the kids grew into teens. I wonder if that is when alot of people notice the absent butler?

Maybe they vanish when they run out of things to do? I don't know I just got one and she has only been around for a couple of hours so I haven't seen it yet but thought that maybe it was something to mention.

Mine vanished just a few hours after I hired him, and left the house a mess (e.g. the bathtub had been dirty for several days because the maid I had before did not care about cleaning either), so at least in my case, this theory does not fit.

My butler's traits are Party Animal, Family Oriented, Brave, Neat, and Ambitious.  I wonder if Family Oriented, Brave, and Neat are present in all butlers.

If I have remembered that correctly, Family Orientated sims can also help kids with homework easier and the genius ones can tutor sims. Can butlers do that, too? That way they can be used as teachers in skills also.

My butler cooks too much food, is good with cleaning, cares for the twins and is a bit starstruck. (he asks for my Sims autographs!) His known traits are Bookworm, Brave, Family Oriented, and Hopeless Romantic.

Bookworm : he reads in his down time.
Brave : he fought a burglar and won!
Family Oriented: loves playing with the twins and their toddler toys
Hopeless Romantic : flirts with the lady of the house :o
