Butlers?

Ok I don't have it yet but I was wondering what the low down on the butlers are? Can they garden and everything freeing up your sims to do other stuff?

I have one in one of my numerous tests games.  I don't have a garden in that one, so I do not know about that.  But she does all the housework.  She also seems to do laundry like 5 times a day.  You can ask the butler to cook for you, massage you and ask advice.  I asked for advice once and it was mumbo jumbo about limes and lobster.  lol.  I like having a butler.  I have her listed as my friend but the only "social" interactions I can have with her is chat and get to know.  Free will is set on high, so when they talk the butler tells my Sim jokes and a lot of the other normal social actions.

I've got a butler in my Bridgeport game with the ghost/vampire triplets.  One thing that I found odd is that he would repair things only a little at a time.  He would work on the television, then go mop the bathroom (broken shower), then to back and work on the television, then go mop again, etc.  He didn't stay with the television until it was fixed.  He also does only the bare minimum with the toddlers.  He'll feed them when they are in the yellow on hunger, put them in the crib when energy is in the yellow, etc.  He also cooked my Sim a bowl of mac and cheese without being asked.

I forgot about them fixing things.  I didn't pay attention to if she finished in one sitting or not.

The first thing my butler cooked for me was lobster.  She has also made key lime pie, salmon, autumn salad.  There are other things too but those are the only things I remember.  The lowest quality meal she has made was great.  Most things are excellent.

My butler also can not sit still.  She sits, then gets up, then sits, then gets up.  The only time that truly annoys me is when she just sits on the toilet and my Sim has to use it, lol.

I got a butler and put a bookcase and couple of chairs in his room.  When he was done with everything, he got a book from his book case and starting reading.  I thought that was pretty neat.  My sim also ask him to join her in the hot tub.

Since the butler lives with you, there has to be a bed for him or her to sleep in. I love having a butler because I never have to call a sitter anymore.

I really like it too.  The household the butler is in, the two sims are mother and daughter and both almost 5 star celebrities, so no kids as of yet.  The mother is a vampire by my choice, because I never played a vampire in sims2, so I wanted to play one on here and has been great so far. :)

I'll have some goodies about butlers soon.  My Dynasty founder, Carina, just got a wish to hire an Executive Butler.  That just makes me laugh for some reason.  I'll let him have Chartreuse's room.

It makes me laugh when they takes their weekly payment. " I will be taking my 1200 payment for the week now. Good day."

With the dynasty's big houses, there should be alot for a butler to do.  Good idea, because hiring a butler is not adding anyone to household.  Would it make a difference though if there were 7 sims already in the household?

I really doubt it.  The butler doesn't take up a slot, so it should be fine.

If there are toddler books in the house, the butler will read to them.  I caught a cute pic of that...

Otherwise, my butler has done nothing useful.  When my family moved, he didn't come along and when I tried to hire him again, for some reason it didn't take.  I'll try one more time, since my vampire sims now have twin toddlers and infant triplets.  :-\  Darn that fertility treatment!

That picture is too cute! I haven't played with a butler yet, but maybe I'll have to get started today! :)

Has anyone had the Buttler walk off the lot yet? Mine spend a couple of hours cleaning the house, then left in mid-work on his first day and has been sighted all over Bridgeport since, but I have not found a way to get him to come back to the house ::) . Needless to say the place is a mess.
