Dead Boss?
« on: October 30, 2010, 10:55:55 PM »
Hi, my sim is in the political career and is Governor. She was best friends with her boss, but then her boss died. Now, when I click on her work tab, it says her relationship with her boss is foul, and I can't improve it because in her relationship tab, it says that she has no boss! Does anyone know if that can change? Will she get a new boss ???

When a co-worker or boss dies, the game will create or draft a new Sim. So, yeah, she will.

Welcome to our Forum, kiwigirl!

You need to use the "Meet Co-workers" tone while your Sim is at work.  That will let her meet her new boss.

That one might work, too.  Thanks, Simstar.  :)

It's happened to me too, all I did was meet some new people at work and a new boss arrived.
I don't know how relevant this is to anything, but can a sim that you control be boss? If so, how?

Not really.  They can attain the same position that the boss had, but your Sim won't ever be the boss in any way that you'll notice.  You may get a notice with the promotion that your Sim is now in charge of everything, but it's not a real boss thing.

You can only use that option after actually meeting the guy. Or girl.

Not even when you play with another sim after your first one get to the top? I am wondering that because in my dynasty both brother and sister are working in the film industry and the sister could recently 'announce promotion' her brother as a social click option. If she can, she should be at least his boss.

I though it best to post here rather than make a new thread :)

Anyway wow i didnt know i had to choose the meet co-workers to get a new boss! my Sim just maxed the Business Career and Nancy Landgraab is no longer her boss actually my sim doesnt have a boss anymore is this normal? or can i meet a new boss by Suck-up to boss? and does the game also add new co-workers when some retire because my other sim has only 1 co-worker left.

Thank you!

I think that for certain career paths once you get to the top of the career you will no longer have a boss, just co-workers.  But that isn't the case for ALL careers, just some of them.

And besides that: if you officially have bought out the building your sim is working in, you have the ability to fire people, right from a list. What will happen if you decide to fire your boss? Will you go up in rank or will the game create a new one? That's the question. ;)

Are the chances of meeting new co-workers low? i've had my sim meet co-workers throughout work but havent met a single one! and my sim owns the restaurant and i've checked through "fire sim" that there are 2 more sims working in the building.

Welcome to the forum Valion. The changes don't have to be high for your sims to met anyone. My sim actually met only one sim at the end of the workday. Ofcourse, there have to be working other people before you can met them. If you've met all of them, you simply can't choose the 'meet co-workers' function, and you will get a message which explains why not.
