Indoor gardening
« on: March 09, 2015, 09:08:21 PM »
I've done a good deal of reading on greenhouses and stuff, hoping to build a year round, indoor garden for my sim with Seasons but in my experience, you can't get your plants auto watered indoors. I have the 'Natures soil rugs' from ITF, a sprinkler didn't work on them when I tried so I was wondering if the 'SwiftGro Gardening Station' worked in conjunction with those carpets before I dropped for the item on the store.

I haven't used the Swift Grow Station with the carpet, but I have used it successfully in a greenhouse with tile flooring.

Yes, they do. I have used them together.

I assume it works with pots then as well, wonder why sprinklers don't work.
Maybe the stones throw greenhouse and the ez grow are things to watch for on the store then, getting tired of rushing to my life plants every other day to rescue them from wilting.... The things sims must do to attain immortality.

I used plants in pots as I didn't have the natures carpets option at the time. That, of course, meant no trees which was a pain.

Just picked up the 'SwiftGro Gardening Station' for 495 sim points.
The 'Natures soil rugs' work like a charm ! I now have a 6x6 indoor gardening area, the auto water works and saves oodles of time gardening and I never have to see my precious life plants in the wilted stage again, the composter is awesome and the rugs let me plant indoors though they can be a little finicky with plant placement for some reason.

No more getting zapped by lightening while out gardening in the rain, no more zombies and animals eating my plants and no more winter worries.

Thank's for your input folks  ;D

I've not used the Stone's Throw or the rugs, but usually just recolor the ground w/terrain paints to the dark soil and then build a wall around that and then put all windows in, the a flat roof, and a reg roof. If I already have plants there, and as long as I build this in the summer or whenever it is warm, I've never had any problems. The sprinklers work just fine. The pots are buggy though and even outside, the sprinklers don't water the plants inside planter pots. :( Here is a pic of what I do.
