JUST ADDED:

  • The "Easter Eggs Collection" from April patch does not qualify, cannot be scored as collection items or complete collection.

My score does not include the egg collection. The eggs would make six completed collections.

Those eggs are everywhere. I was getting sick of them by the end.

Not everyone will buy the expansion, so we need to keep it as fair as possible.

Hmm...this was how I felt about the Outdoor Living Pack. Not everyone bought that, but that content was allowed in previous challenges. One person mentioned in the Family challenge that they used the Herbalist Aspiration because it was so easy to complete. And in this challenge you're giving extra points for items found above the original number counted in the collection for those who have Outdoor pack.

I do not have a perfect solution for you. We're trying our best to put together fun events for you guys, and there will be some instances where some players because of some expansions content may be looked upon as having a slight advantage. Bottom line: this is a game. And we're not playing for high stakes here.

It makes sense to me to not allow an expansion that people get after a challenge has already started, when some people have already reported scores and others may be almost done.  It would be kind of boring though if all of the challenges were restricted to the base game though, in my opinion.

I feel like not allowing the Get to Work expansion is a good idea, because of the time it comes out not everyone will have a chance to get it and use it for this particular challenge. I do, however, feel like allowing Outdoor Retreat is okay because OR came out on January 13, 2015, if Google is Correct, and I feel like that is a fair amount of time (2-3 months) for people to have purchased the pack if they were going to do so.

At the end of the day it is just a game after all. If Outdoor Retreat is allowed or if it isn't it won't bother me too much. Regardless, I had fun with the challenge and I'm glad I did it.

This is my thoughts exactly. Waiting for expansion content to stabilize for a month or two is not only reasonable but helpful in my opinion. That being said, I generally don't even install my expansions or content packs until they are allowed in challenge content because I have issues differentiating what packs the content is from. If this stays the base game though it becomes a choice for me either to complete in challenges OR to play with new content. I'm an odd duck, I suppose.  ;)

208 items as well, and also 5 collections completed so I have a grand total of 312 points.

I missed one item for completing three collections... if only I had wasted less time.

I was also one item away from a completed collection! I'd be interested, after the challenge is over, to know which one it was for you.

Might do this challenge for fun. I'm a big fan of collecting things; ask me about Banjo-Kazooie. ^_^
I play The Sims 4 for fun, so I don't care if I never end up being interviewed for the Dynasty Hall of Fame; people who play for keeps burn out too easily and don't enjoy playing the games, so I am going to not sweat the details.

Hi.  This is my first challenge.  Kyle and Abbie Collector found 213 items, completing 9 collections (not counting the 10 eggs and that collection).

I think my score is 213 * 1.9 =404.7 so 404?

I am having trouble creating the screen shot with print screen.  I just end up with a blank white image.  If I use my video card's screen capture to record a couple seconds of video of the menu, will that work, or can someone tell me if there is a trick to using print screen to print from Sims 4 on Windows 8.  I have tried alt+ print screen and the windows button and print screen.  The file created by the latter was the same blank white screen I got from pasting.

I had a lot of fun, and learned a lot.  Even though I did two practice runs, I still learned something near the end of my challenge run that might have made a difference to how I approached it.  I think you guys are great for thinking up these challenges that make us look at the game differently. Thanks a bunch.

Nelleam, welcome to the forum and thank you for participating. Don't worry about posting a screenshot. The team would only ask for one if we had questions.

247 Collection Items = 247 points.
Multiplier = 8 complete collections = 8 X 10% = 1.00 + .80 = 1.80

Total = 247 X 1.80 = 444 points

Was so close to completing at least three more collections, but made a strategic mistake  :'(
