Collection Obsession: Gotta Catch 'Em All

I'm loving how each challenge focuses us on a particular aspect of our gameplay while deprioritizing other aspects.
In the challenge guidelines, Metro wrote:
     We are requiring you to tale a screenshot of your collection tab though in case questions arise.

I don't know how to take a screenshot of my collection tab. I tried, unsuccessfully, to search the forum for an answer.
Could anyone direct me to a thread which explains how to do that?  Sorry to ask such a basic question...

This is how you do it on a PC.  I'm not sure if it's different on a Mac. 

When you have what you want to take a picture of on your screen, hit the print screen, or prt sc button.  Next, go into paint and hit paste, or ctrl-V.  Make sure to save it.  Saving it as a jpeg works well.   Let me know if this works for you.

Just now, I got home and tried saving a screenshot of my insect collection in an unrelated save file.  I saved the image as a jpeg file as you suggested. Worked like a charm.

Question: Do we take a screenshot of our Collection tab with all of the collections closed so you can see the fractions representing the completion status of each collection?

I realize I'm jumping the gun here but I don't want to be bothering everyone once the challenge has begun.

It's just the collection tab - not individual collections - like your insect collection. And do not post a screenshot unless the team PMs you for whatever reason.

At this point, I don't know how to post a screenshot to the forum, so no worries there. (not so funny, really)
Also, on second thought, I don't imagine I'll do so well in the challenge that anyone will ask for a screenshot, so I'm feeling a little dumb about all my questions.

...was removed because of some confusion caused with the scoring system of using the collection tab - items sent off to the Geological Council would count towards the tab stats but would be consumed in the process and you would not be able to take a screenshot of them. We are requiring you to tale a screenshot of your collection tab though in case questions arise.

So are you allowed to sell collectables to keep finances going?

The only collection items that can be scored are "official" game collections listed at Carl's Collections Guide.  Carl has not updated the new egg collection, so that would be a "no" for now.  However if Carl updates it before the challenge ends, then yes you can count the egg collection.

Carl informed me that the new Decorative Egg collection is April only, so given this event continues into May we cannot count it. That collection is listed in the Household Collection tab, but you cannot count the eggs. Sorry guys.
