Haha I think that's likely.  I didn't realize until I posted (as I had used your setup verbitem for the calculation) how close it was.  Now I need a break from the Sims as I go cross-eyed.

Due to work and holidays and a slight touch of illness - 12 items collected and 0 collections completed. However neither of my sims died which was a bonus. So I guess that means 12 points. Yay!

I have collected 108 items and completed 0 collections. I have some time left to collect more and do it better, but I'm simply too busy to do that right now. Better than nothing right?
