How-To: Restore old town (Using the Move Town Feature)
« on: February 25, 2015, 09:14:47 PM »
I am a moron and did not think that moving towns would save over.
But I clicked save instead of save as.

Can I restore my old town?

Check if your most recent automatic backup is still in the saves folder.

Switch it to a normal sims3 file and try it out anyway, just in case.

When you use to Move Town feature it is highly recommended to do a Save As and give it a new name, first before moving. Just in case you do want to go back to that saved game.

For example: Let's say you want to move from Moonlight Falls (MF) to Twinbrook (TB).

You then would Save As MF-JD01. After you have moved towns, it will ask you to save again with a new name. This is good. Then what you can do is save the game as: TBJD02.

I would highly recommend saving both of these saved-game files to some place safe (outside of the Electronic Arts folder) just in case you need to refer to them later.
